OMG! Thanks so much for the links! I had read about that Fantasyland expansion a while ago but figured it wasn't real. Hmm, now the hard part. I had kind of thought we might do DLR in 2012 because that's when all the DCA changes are to be completed but now with this announcement will have to think about that.

DS9 is also very excited about the changes to ST!

Looks like some exciting times for WDW and DLR in the next few years.

I watched those vidoes about a dozen times each!
Looks like they're trying to give equal time to both coasts.

Congrats on the Notepad-you will continue to love it even more as realize all the places you can take it...you never have to be without cyber access again...which can be both dangerous and fabulous...at the same time...

Thanks also for the info on the Cake Challenge at Disneyland-I enjoyed it very much...man that female English judge is a tough cookie...she could give Simon on AI a run for his money...

The great thing about DVC is that you always feel there's another trip just over the horizon.

Tricia and I enjoyed the Cake Challenge, too, although Tricia was outraged when it seemed that only the winning family got to eat their cake! And you're right, that judge is no Mary Poppins!!

See now this is why we MUST go in 2010...so 2012 is far enough away to go again then!

Wow, Kathy!! That was an amazing link with some very good news!! I was really excited to hear this! I guess I'm a bit behind in the gossip gathering cuz it's the first I'd heard of it. nevertheless, I can't wait to see the finished product!!

Now it makes perfect sense that they are releasing an updated, revised version of the Imagineers Field Guide to MK.

I am planning on doing a little something like that once the eyes are completely good. Just know that I was not with them. Jim did NOT take alot of pictures

I will tell you that Jimmy absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Universal and is already talking about going back. We aren't planning on going back at all for at least 2 years , but I wouldn't go near Universal next year with the Harry Potter thing opening anyway!

I'm glad you're going to do a mini-report... I'm the photographer in our house, too, so I understand completely about not getting too many pix from "the menfolk." Ah well, as long as Jimmy had a ball, that's what counts! (Stupid germs!)

Well, folks, its 46 days 'til our vacation and now that summer is over and the kiddos are back to school, I'm hoping to have more regular DIS time! When I mentioned the "46 days" to Tricia this morning she was quite surprised. She announced that she will now officially begin to get excited about our trip! (I'm starting to get a bit more excited, myself!)

In keeping with my teenage daughter's declaration that it is now acceptable to get excited about our trip, I've decided to go back in time and pull some old Disney photos to share... I'll try to post a new one each day if I can.

This first one, appropriately, is from our very first trip to the World in September of 2003. Gosh, don't they look so little!! Sorry for the quality, it was scanned...

Billy was five and Tricia was seven. I remember laughing when I took this because Billy automatically sat on Roy's lap and put his arm around his neck like it was his Grandpa!

What a thrill to see the Castle for the first time!!

After this picture, Tricia and I held hands and skipped up Main Street (yes, you read that correctly... I skipped) and we sang, "I'm walkin' right down the middle of Main Street, U-S-A-Aay-Aay!" as we went!!


I'm glad that picture gave me a smile, because I had to call for an emergency dentist appointment for myself earlier today and I am NOT happy. I was eating (soft) cereal this morning and one of my back teeth broke in half! Just like that! There was no premonition... no discomfort or any indication that anything was wrong... so its a complete surprise (and annoyance) to me.

What a pain it is to have an unexpected expense right before our vacation! (Our dental coverage is only 50%) There are so many better things I could be spending money on right now!

I'm off today so I planned on running errands anyway, but still. Errrrgh!

Oh well, at least it didn't happen the day of our departure. Or worse, while actually on vacation! (Must think positive thoughts!!)

They did mention something about training with Cinderella's palace guards, but the new Fantasyland does seem to be quite centered around princesses. (Just don't mess with Peter Pan or Pooh... I'll be really upset if they do!)

Perhaps the Cars Land proposed for DL will also come to the MK!! Tomorrowland Speedway sure could use a makeover!

I totally feel your pain about the tooth thing. Last year on Halloween I was eating a piece of hard candy and chewing it (stupid, I know) and my back molar broke in half. It didn't hurt, I just felt something hard in my mouth that wasn't there a second before and wadda ya know---it's my tooth.

I went to the dentist, they gave me a temporary filling or something and I never went back. It doesn't bother me, I can eat on it, and they said I'd have to spend a crazy amount of money to get a root canal and cap so I just decided to deal with it. I'm sure one day I'll have to get it taken care of for real, but until then I'm probably a good $800 richer.

I hope everything goes smoothly for you and you have everything taken care of in plenty of time to munch on some of those roasted nuts in Adventureland you guys seem to like so much (or at least, you did in your April TR).

Um, I seem to get a little "bigger" each year, too!

I haven't been dieting, so I haven't lost any more weight... I will need to get back on track soon!

Wow, I hadn't heard that the party had sold out (although I expected it to.) Drat! I'm so annoyed that those CMs told me there would be no party on Nov. 1st!! Oh well, thankfully I have experience on my side!!

We will definitely shoot for the second, less crowded, parade. It's a good thing the kids are older and can stay awake... sometimes longer than I can!!
