A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/12) New Thread Begun on TR Board!

Ditto to everyone else's thoughts on the bodice. I'd be concerned that if its been pushed back once, it could be again and you'd be left scrambling and maybe shelling out even more money to have something in time. Hope the pirate shirts work. Aren't you glad you started your costume searching so early?:goodvibes

Starting up the weight loss efforts again are hard, I'm sure, but you can do it!!:cheer2:You've come so far already.:thumbsup2

Hi Triple P... and welcome back!! :goodvibes

I was a naughty girl and ate a lot of "junk" while I was away... took a little vacation from the diet as well. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time getting back on the wagon, so perhaps I should try on my harem pants again for an incentive!

I ordered a bodice online many weeks ago and they had originally said it would be backordered to the middle of August. Now they've sent word that it will not be available until the middle of October and I'm a little nervous.

I was really happy with it, but I may cancel the order and plan on ordering something similar. I wouldn't want to find out at the last minute that it isn't going to get to me in time for Halloween.

I'm really not much of a gambler at all!!

I'm also waiting on two "pirate shirts" that I found on sale... pretty much two for the price of one... for Ed and Billy. They should arrive this week.

I will be so happy when everyone's ensemble is in hand!!

Thanks for reading!

Kathy

You are doing a lot better than I am on the costume Department

So far I have DD wearing last years costume pirate:

Pants for DH and a vest, and sash but debating on his shirt. He has a long sleeve shirt to wear but I don't know if that will be too warm in Florida.

DS Nothing

Me Nothing so far:scared1:

I need to get on the ball.

Hope you were able to get back on the weight loss wagon:hug:

Don't worry...you can't have fallen off nearly as hard as I did!

I fell off the wagon LAST AUGUST and not only did I fall off but I took the wagon and filled it with Krispy Cremes, Thrasher's Fries, Loaded Baked Potatoes, Blue Cheese Dressing, Grecian Pizza with Extra Feta Cheese and so on.....

So don't feel bad for falling off for a short spurt...I've been off it for a year!

By the way.....I plan on dumping my wagon of junk as soon as we get back:rolleyes1................really;)

Where'd you find the bodice? I'm looking for one for my costume.
You're going to WDW next month!

Wow - I'm so out of the loop with all my DIS-ing I've been missing! I'm all caught up and anxiously awaiting more costume details! Sorry about Ed's costume being a no-go! What a bummer! Glad you are having a nice summer! :goodvibes

Sara

Hi Sara!

I know what you mean, I've been having trouble getting DIS time in, too!

I can't believe its already September....

Kathy

We're all behind you on the weight loss Kathy! YOU CAN DO IT!!:banana:

Kathy... pixiedust: for you on the costume pieces! And, you can do it  for you about getting back on the "diet" :)

:goodvibes

Starting up the weight loss efforts again are hard, I'm sure, but you can do it!!:cheer2:You've come so far already.:thumbsup2

Thanks,

Yes, I feel as if I ran out of steam there. The kids are back to school right after Labor Day, so our schedule will be getting back to "normal" (whatever that is!). The weather is supposed to be gorgeous all this week--so wonderfull after the TON of rain we had last week--so I will certainly be able to get in some nice, long power walks.

Good thing, too, because I have to work off the ice cream I had tonight!! :rolleyes1

Kathy

Hi Kathy , you aren't the only one that has fallen off the weight loss wagon. I am miffed at myself and will keep moving forward. Hope all is well in your world.

;)

Thanks!

Funny, I've been able to keep to things like drinking seltzer instead of sweet tea... but then I blow it by having an ice cream cone after dinner!

It's so hard to pass when everyone else in the family is yum-yumming it...

Oh well, at least a scoop on a wafer cone is better than a dish with whipped cream and chocolate syrup so I can rationalize that I "saved" some calories there!! :rotfl:

I have a small costume update:

We're still waiting on the pirate shirts for the boys, but I did get Billy some black and white striped pirate pants and a black sash to go with his white shirt. :thumbsup2

Also got an awesome pirate hat for Ed! pirate:

Here's a fabulous website called "Dress Like a Pirate"

Good thing is, all the stores are starting to fill up with Halloween stuff now, so it will be easier to pick things up when we're out and about!

Kathy

I know what you mean... I am looking all over for Halloween shirts for my DH and I. We are going to the party Sept 18th and I feel like I am waiting until the last minute. I might have to cave and go to one of those expensive "halloween" stores that are only open 2 months out of the year... I found a Pirate Kit at the dollar tree of all places. It included a hook, hat and eye patch all for $1.00. DS will also be a pirate this year...pirate:pirate:pirate:

Kathy,

I wish you best of luck with the costumes. It will be nice when you have that portion of your trip all settled.

Jordo

Whoa! How did that happen?! You ARE going NEXT month!!

Things are slowly coming together with the costumes. Hooray for that!! I am just dying to see pictures of everyone's get up.

Oh my goodness, it is next month, isn't it??

This is the bodice I ordered. It's expensive, but I had a hard time finding them in larger sizes...

Very pretty bodice! I hope it comes in time. I haven't decided if I want to wear one of those.

Very cool website. I can't wait to show Ethan. Lots of inspiration there. I am debating on wearing a simple black skirt that I already have.

I am planning on making mine and Ethan's costume. I have the pattern already. I do want to make myself a white shirt.

Now I need to decide whether to make myself pants or wear the black skirt.
I am not sure if I want to wear a bodice.

Are you wearing a hat? Ron has a Capt. Jack Sparrow Hat to wear! I will probably buy Ethan a hat. He loves to wear them and they are so hard to make.

Then I need to have Ethan design or pick his out. The hardest thing to make would be one of the long coats that Ethan likes.

If you have a minute take a peek at my pre-trippie. I have several updates and they are all really positive:thumbsup2

I love that bodice Kathy! Can you believe you are going next month??

I agree with you about the kids going back to school and things returning to "normal". I am a routine girl...and as much as I enjoy the activity of summer...I crave the routine that the school year provides! The boys on the other hand.....not so much! ;)

Wow, you're going next month?! How time flies!

Great looking bodice, I hope it arrives in time. Congrats on scoring more costume pieces for the boys. I'm sure you'll be relieved to have all that finished!

I remember doing all that this time last year.........how I wish we were going again this year.

Yay for next month!! :cool1:

Can't wait to see how the costumes turn out! You are putting so much effort into them - I'm sure they'll be fantastic!! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: You sound like me. My DH has been working out of town and I thought it would be easy to diet with him gone, but NO! Instead if the kids want something, I get it too. :rolleyes1 Oh well, I'm to close to Disney now to worry about it. I'll get on it when we get back!! All I can think about is FREE DINING!!!!:lmao:

Hey Kathy-I love that bodice-if you wind up using that...I that Ed will find you hmmm...fetching...quite fetching in it...;)

You are going to the Halloween party NEXT MONTH...(you know I'm going to be thinking about that while we're giving out the candy...:confused3)

The diet thing (sigh) is hard but even if you cheat a little you're still moving in the right direction even two steps forward one back is still a step forward...:goodvibes

And your right about the weather the...the weather in the tri-state area (which for us is NJ, PA & DE or somepeople flip it and say NY has been glorious-excellent for taking those after dinner walks...)

I think i might make a weight loss ticker-it seems like it would make you more likely to stay on the straight and narrow...:rolleyes1

I can't wait to see the photos of all of you in costume...:goodvibes
