What a bummer to hear about the phone- esp. just on the heels of that darned tooth! Things like that can certainly start to add up and become stressful, esp. if you're already stretching things!!

Don't worry about whining here! We're all in this together; the good, the wonderful and the stressful!

Whine away, Kathy! I can totally sympathize! Before we went on our trip this past weekend, I was so conflicted about it and thinking of all the things we could do with that money instead. Charles made sure we went ahead with the trip though, and I am so glad he did -- I think creating memories is one of the most important things. Just remember, the kids won't be young forever and these trips are great ways to spend time together as a family!

Absolutely! I can think of plenty other things I will gladly do without.

Bummer about the cell phone. My son dropped mine on the driveway in the dark and then stepped on it and broke it in half. I felt guilty about having to replace it so soon, but this stuff happens. (And I actually like the new one soooooo much more).

Anyway, I think everyone feels a little guilty about money right before they go away. It's normal (unless you're independantly wealthy). I agree with what CP said - making the memories is priceless.

For sure! I suppose I'm just feeling a bit guilty because I'm the one who always pushes for our vacations. But I'll always remember how my parents used to talk about taking us to WDW when we were younger but never could. I don't want the same thing to happen to my children.

Exactly! And what an investment it is! Returns on it are great!

I got a little bit of the "guilty nerves" going on when we booked out trip for February - final payment due: December 23rd! Yikes!

You are so close Kathy! I'm getting very excited for you guys!

Thanks, Sara! Perhaps this is just the flip side of the excitement coin... feeling thrilled that the trip is so close, but also worrying about spending the money on it.

It's not unlike the feeling you get when standing in line for Tower of Terror!

Oh my! I'm pretty obsessive but Jeff will kill me if I start pulling out the phone as a gps for hidden mickeys and transportation calucation.

Then again, maybe not. He has a love hate relationship with my overplanning, and smart phone use. It has gotten us out of jams many times.

Ahhh...

That makes Jeff old and me young. Given what we typically say. Although more often than not I just say I'm putzing. Which probably sounds older than any of it!
