i just talked to her son Chris- he told me the surgery is over and Peggi is in recovery and will be all night. He thinks it went well but when he has more news, with more particulars, i will post again. Keep those prayers going..... Caroline

Just got off the phone with Richie (Peggie's longtime friend). He said she is in Intensive Care for the evening.
She is doing well, all things considered. They have her medicated up so she is comfortable pain wise and resting quietly.

Richie said the docs said they were very pleased with how the surgery went and that she tolerated it very well.

I second Lynnie's info- we just finished talking to Ritchie also - what good news to hear that she is resting comfortably. He did say they had removed all the lymph nodes under her right arm, and were able to do the reconstruction too. Wow, I am so glad that today has passed and with each day, she'll begin to feel stronger. You know, all the pixie dust and prayers we are all sending really are working!!! She truly has some heavenly powers guarding and protecting her. I am sure you'll get further updates as any of us hear them. Night... Caroline

I meant to also say that I told Richie how all day long there have been additional posts on the DIS for Peggie and that she has been getting loads of well wishes, prayers, and pixie dust.
Richie said a heartfelt thank you to everyone and that it means so much to Peggie and all her family as well.

Just finished a nice chat with Ritchie - Peggi is up and walking the halls!!! She has a wonderfully positive outlook and has been bragging to her friends and family about her fabulous tummy tuck!!! The best news- she is scheduled to be home on Monday. Then in a short time, both chemo and radiation will begin.
It is so nice have such good news to share!!! Caroline

I just spoke to Ritchie a short while ago, and the news is that Peggie is doing ok, and they had her up walking already today. She has been awake and talking, but they do have on a lot of medication for the pain, so he says it is hard for her to keep her eyes open. As it stands now, they are going to let her go home on Monday.

Just had a wonderful phone call from Peggi - she sounded weak but good. Mentioned that between the tummy tuck they did for reconstruction and the terrible hospital food, she would be thinner for sure!!! I mentioned all the great notes she had received on the board and she said to tell everyone many thank yous for all the prayers and pixie dust sent. It was so good to hear her voice. I talked to Peggie a little bit ago--no real news to report, but she was concious and talking! She is off the morphine, but on other pain meds--still sounds a little weak and groggy, but she definitely knew who she was and what's going on.

She got the "card" from Robyn that had all the posts and well-wishes on it, and was thrilled. She wanted everyone to know how much she appreciates all the love and support, pixie dust and prayers that we're all sending her way.

Monday is still the day she gets "sprung" from the hospital and gets to go home..............

Will post more if I hear anything.
