We are going to Florida today to get my kids. They have been there since we left Disney World. So, they have been in Florida for three weeks!! I really miss them and I am ready for them to be home.

So, I am out for a few days, but I have really enjoyed posting here with you.

Good Morning, Pickles!!!

Y'all are so sweet! I was laying low for a few days...no Savannah planning...but maybe it would be fun to plan for my big 2 day trip!!!

After my BFF and I spent hours looking at and seriously considering a pretty B&B in a tree lined area, we went with the Holiday Inn Express because it has the best reviews, the price is better, we both get a full bed (B&B a rollaway or daybed for one of us) and the cancellation policy is same day, so if big storm comes through we can still cancel. The B&B's had a 2 week cancellation policy.

I'd love to find a place for old fashioned Southern Fried Chicken like my grandmother made...she was from Mississippi and boyohboy, could she cook! Sunday Southern Fried Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak, fresh Peach Cobbler...soooo good!

Now, I'm hungry, but we have nothing like that in the house..and I stopped cooking years ago(when DD became lady of the house), so the knack has worn off.

Kari, have you been to Savannah? Any suggestions? we're not interested in the Lady & Son's (Paula Deen's restaurant -lines too long and too gourmet). We're hoping to find a local favorite.

WHY do I do this to myself????

I was on hold with a customer this morning, and somehow I accidentally clicked on something and found a Disney Travel Ad....35% off Club Level.
so I check it out.....

$941.32!!!!!!
We really wouldn't need much more for food...maybe some snacks in Epcot.
I really don't even need the 1 day passes, which would save a little more, but Brian would want to do Epcot I think.
I'd be happy floating in the lazy river all day!!!
Problem is
1. we can't afford it anyway
2. we'd still have to get there

That's a great deal, but I would let it go. It will cost you as much in air fares as it does for the resort. Wait until you can stay longer, IMO. You could take an incredible romantic weekend for way less!

Don't give up on 'Ohanas. Even if you don't score a table prior to getting their have the people at the concierge desk check for you.

I think they have a bit of latitude for guest staying at that resort.

Last year while we were staying at the Contemporary this route got us into Chef Mickey's at a normal dinner hour.

I would have the concierge at CSR work on it as well. They have always been very helpful with anything I ever needed.

Yes...the lazy river...relaxing in the Club Lounge...strolling around the Boardwalk...it would be so relaxing and romantic...and the price is less than we would pay for just an average room or B&B around here....BUT we have to get there....not to mention that it will be tight to even have the $$ together for our Dec. trip, let alone add in another. I just need to pray that they have a deal like this when my 40th rolls around!!!!

My brother-in-law lives in Savannah, so we have gone many times. But... we hardly ever eat out. I will email my SIL for some suggestions. I do enjoy going down to River St and eating at the restaurants there. I like to sit out on the upper decks and look at the river. We did a trolley tour a few years ago that was cool.

BTW - I like Holiday Inn Express. We stayed at one in Washington DC that was so nice... heavenly beds, hot yummy breakfast, super clean. We stayed at a B&B in Staunton, VA that left a lot to be desired. (Ran out of hot water!)

I like a HIE too - think we have one not so great one, but most time very nice. This one is only a year old and right on the river (not River St, but the one up from it - still overlooks the rive). When I called the hotel directly to ask a question about possibly getting a room with a lot of light, the rep noticed my Priority CLub number in my reservation and upgraded us to room on the front of the bldg with a balcony!!!

Why doesn't Disney treat it's frequent guests like this??

Sounds great, but is it for 2 or 3 ngts? That is a whole LOTTA $$ for 2.3 ngts!!! Would be a fun short trip for sure though.

It's 2 nts..fri-sun.
It is a lot, but it's Club Level. I priced it w/o Tix and it was $299/nt. I've never seen Club Level that "cheap". It's still too much, but it was still nice to dream.

They won't shut it down... just move it. I don't think they really care about us at this point. (And quit giving them ideas!)
