Ohanas is awesome! People change ressies all the time (well you know that first hand dont cha?):lmao:

It is actually really cool. They go to school for 9 weeks, then get a 3 week break. They don't get as tired of school because they are constantly going on a break. And we get to take off season vacations!

We are planning to go to the beach for the day on Sat. We'll take a picnic lunch, and get some fresh seafood for dinner before coming home. And I will get to sit under my umbrella all day and read my book! :beach:
That would be great...to be able to vacation at "off" times, and not have them miss school.

Your beach day sounds heavenly!

No worries... those were at the All Stars last I heard!
Hi Heather, Tracy
I believe you guys are still on. I was at the Phillies game - it was great as the Phils won it in the bottom of the ninth 3-2:thumbsup2

Tracy - keep trying for O'Hanas. I hear this restaurant is the "in" one right now. You will love HDDR. Calif. Grill is awesome if you want to put another 2 signature meal in.
Yay!!!
I'm glad that they won. I fell asaleep before it was over. Now here I am, wide awake:headache:
Yay Phillies!

I am trying right now to get 'Ohanas. Grrrrrrr. It's waaaaaay past my bedtime though. I am about ready to fall over.

Good luck with Ohana's...If you don't get it before you leave, definately check with the concierge when you check in to the Poly. Sometimes they can see cancellations.

Also, I hate to say this...but....double check Rainforest Cafe. I'm pretty sure that they aren't on DDP. The one at AK might be, but I'm pretty sure the one at DTD isn't.

Yeah yeah yeah. :p I could have one for 9:20 but hubby just said that is way too late for supper. I agree, but man. I want to eat there!!

I definitely will ask. :thumbsup2 I don't have a ressie for Rainforest. You been skimming too?! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Thanks Tracy - my Mom was lucky, she found the lump during an exam and went right in - good thing as it was considered agressive, but the docs believe it did not spread. She's a fighter!

Been to Franklins Mills too - now we have the "Philadelphia Premium Outlets" Love it but the Limerick nuclear plant is in the back yard, I'm sure the land came cheap. If least if something goes wrong, I went out Shopping!:rotfl:

The Crocs outlet has some great deals once in a while...I got some for $4.99 a while ago. I wish we would have gotten our Disney Outlet that was planned for there though!

Maybe just on Overload...I thought Rainforest was the one you were doing for Hubby...was it Planet Hollywood??? I think that one is ok for DDP.

yeah....9:20 is definately late. Another thing to try for Ohana is see if you can walk up to the podium right when they open if you are at the resort at that time. Sometimes they will have early no-shows and you can get lucky.

Yep, hubby wants Planet Hollywood. Might as well be McDonalds. I went through and checked all my ressies once I discovered (again) that Fulton's wasn't on the plan. I'm good to go. Here`s hopin for a no show!`:woohoo:

Take it!! You can always check in, like 30 minutes early .. you never know how fast they might be able to seat you. Remember its family style, you get to start eating right away. We LOVED ohanas!

Ok Ladies, i'm giong to try and sleep again...I'm feeling Lousy and my browser is suddenly very slow, so I'm giving up. I hope you all have a nice night.

nite, Heather, Tracy. I have to go to work in the morn':sad2:
Good luck on the ressies Tracy!

Tracy,

Don't give up on 'Ohanas. Even if you don't score a table prior to getting their have the people at the concierge desk check for you.

I think they have a bit of latitude for guest staying at that resort.

Last year while we were staying at the Contemporary this route got us into Chef Mickey's at a normal dinner hour.

I would have the concierge at CSR work on it as well. They have always been very helpful with anything I ever needed.

Where'd my post go???

I wrote this absurdly long post - responding to all your chatting the last couple of days..hit post..but where did it go?? Please don't tell me I posted all that on the wrong thread! :faint:

Geesh - now what do I say after my oh so clever post disappeared in the cyper space of lost DIS posts?

All I can think of for now is:

Kathy ~ you went to Steak & Shake without MOI????:sad2:

Welcome back, Christine! Have you been busily planning your Savannah trip?

Good Morning, Pickles!!!

Y'all are so sweet! I was laying low for a few days...no Savannah planning...but maybe it would be fun to plan for my big 2 day trip!!!

After my BFF and I spent hours looking at and seriously considering a pretty B&B in a tree lined area, we went with the Holiday Inn Express because it has the best reviews, the price is better, we both get a full bed (B&B a rollaway or daybed for one of us) and the cancellation policy is same day, so if big storm comes through we can still cancel. The B&B's had a 2 week cancellation policy.

I'd love to find a place for old fashioned Southern Fried Chicken like my grandmother made...she was from Mississippi and boyohboy, could she cook! Sunday Southern Fried Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak, fresh Peach Cobbler...soooo good!

Now, I'm hungry, but we have nothing like that in the house..and I stopped cooking years ago(when DD became lady of the house), so the knack has worn off.

Kari, have you been to Savannah? Any suggestions? we're not interested in the Lady & Son's (Paula Deen's restaurant -lines too long and too gourmet). We're hoping to find a local favorite.

What's up for today, my friends? Kari. I know what your day will be filled with: munchkins galore!!

Happy Thursday...mini TGIF!:thumbsup2

My brother-in-law lives in Savannah, so we have gone many times. But... we hardly ever eat out. I will email my SIL for some suggestions. I do enjoy going down to River St and eating at the restaurants there. I like to sit out on the upper decks and look at the river. :cloud9: We did a trolley tour a few years ago that was cool.

BTW - I like Holiday Inn Express. We stayed at one in Washington DC that was so nice... heavenly beds, hot yummy breakfast, super clean. We stayed at a B&B in Staunton, VA that left a lot to be desired. (Ran out of hot water!) :scared1:
