I think I would vacation much differently if I owned DVC. I wouldn't be so concerned with fitting in as much as possible, cause I know I would be back soon. I woulg go at a much slower pace with more downtime

Exactly! When you spend the kind of money we do to go.. you feel like the meter is running and you have to get the most bang for the buck.

I am excited about being more relaxed for sure.

Janet, to the pickle thread! You are not intruding at all!! We have fun and post about all kinds of things - what began as helping Tracy choose a resort has turned into a group of new friends, so we are delighted you've joined us!

Tracey - I had to bring my daughter for an orthodontist appt today and what do I see when I open a magazine?? It FELL OPEN TO A PAGE ADVERTISING PICKLES!! So it was my sign to check in with you'll tonight. I'll my 2 cents in on the dining dilemma ....

Thank you. It was a very emotional 3-1/2 hours. Over 300 people came. It was very sweet, very sad, and yet very loving.

I am looking at this trip as a way to do some things we never take the time to do when we are there to do the parks. I feel like we should be in the parks, then.
Interestingly enough, the DVC guy we used said we would vacation differently and I do feel that way. I know for the next 50 years we have a disney vacation coming.
Of course that all sounds good. I am excited about hanging at the resort pool and just relaxing, but you know... I might have a little park envy anyway

I took the DVC tour last year ... and am undecided. I keep going back & forth on this? Also, have looked in the resales. Sometimes I think my kids are too old (17 &11) and I get good deals with the public codes. Did it take you guys long to decide to buy?

I was thinking about you all day yesterday. Are you going to the service today too? You, as well as the family are in my prayers.

My Father in Law is having his surgery tomorrow. They aren't sure how big the tumors are, and how many there are, so they aren't sure if he will need radiation or chemo afterwards..it will all depend on what they find tomorrow and how much they can get.

Ok...back to happy Disney planning and dreaming!!!

It took ME all of ONE second! I tried to get DH to go see it back in 05 but he said NO WAY. This time, I don't know what happened. I honestly think he loves the Contemporary so much he wanted to see the BLTowers. We didn't end up buying there because we got such a GREAT deal on SSR. They even gave us points!!

The thing is, you do get good deals on Disney, but their rates are going to continue to increase where with the points, they are set for the next 50 years, so we won't see an increase.

Our kids are 15, 12 and 8. I can't imagine them not wanting to go, but if they don't, Jeff and I will alone and then we have honeymoons done and grandchildren to take. We can use the points for other places too and I really want to do the cruise some time.

We will eventually add on points. We started with 200. It just worked for us. We go every year and we want to stay at the nicer resorts, but frankly, we can't afford to. I would LOVE to stay at the POLY and those resorts are better for us with 5, but POR is about it for us financially. So, now we will stay in 1 bedrooms with no price increase. With what we spent on the DVC it will pay for itself in about 4 trips!

I guess you could say I am excited about that, huh?

Sounds like DVC is a great fit for you. My DD (Samantha) and I love Disney, the boys are indulgent to us as far as that goes. I know there are good deals to be had on the resale market, so I’m watching. I need to get my DH down there soon and see the new BLT, maybe stay at the contemporary (at least for a split stay). He likes the modern style. He has been saying that he wants more space when we got back (at least a one bedroom) so I’ve been talking up DVC. Who knows, to buy or not to buy, should this be the next pickle after we finish off Tracy’s????

Oh my gosh. Ya'll have been busy in here! I've been planning like a mad woman. I went to bed at 4am this morning. Kinda tired! Still working on my ressies. I have made a decision.
