You guys are nuts. I've had no internet all night. I am so mad. I called my ISP and he says, "oh yeah...looks like you're getting dropped quite a bit." Everyfreakinday. Ya think? He's sending a techie tomorrow morning. Yay?

Grrrr.

I then called reservations to get them confirmed. Well, I *had* a special anniversary celebration tied to my ressie. I mentioned it to the CM for the Poly ressie. Everything was a-ok. Ummm hmmm. I just logged into my account and guess what!!! No special celebration tied to either. :( I tried adding them and saved them. When I go back in, they aren't there. I'm cranky. And today actually IS my anniversary. Double cranky.

I think I'll go to bed.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just remind them of your anniversary when you check in. You'll get your buttons, etc., and maybe a surprise. :woohoo:

Its your anniversary... and you are online with US!? No wonder you need a romantic getaway. Sheesh!

Thankee. :) I want a button! They better give me a button. With our luck, I'm not going to expect or hope for any surprises though. Nuh unh. :sad2:

:rotfl2: Um, truth be told, hubby works until 1am, however he came home early tonight just because. Well, he's in bed with one laptop playing on Facebook and I'm on the other yucking it up with you guys. :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Yep, you two DEFINITELY need a "romantic" Disney trip...and SOON! :rotfl2:

And leave the laptops AT HOME!!!

:offtopic: Is the DIS really slow tonight, or is it my connection?

Well, they can bring one laptop...they have to let us know how the trip is going since we feel after all this that we're going to be there with them.

No, mine has been REALLY slow too. Plus the boards are kind of slow in general.

They were really quick for about 2 days right after they went down last, and I thought they were fixed. Then they went back to normal. But all day today I have had issues... it took a full minute for my last post to upload. :headache:

Oh yes, a laptop is going with us. Can't live without a puter.

And yes, everything is slow tonight. Even me. :rotfl:

I missed some fun last night!! But it was sooo slow that I shut down the 'puter and fell asleep.

I'm sorry I missed the anniversary celebration, so a belated , but very sincere:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!

What's the plan for today, my friends? No plans here...wish I had a plan, but it's going to another 95 degree day with equal humidity. :faint:

Definitely mention you are celebrating your 10th anniversary at check-in. :goodvibes CSR is better about such things than the Poly.

Speaking of resorts and celebrations...One of my BFF and I stayed at the Poly to celebrate my 60th birthday (told y'all I'm old...but so young at heart;)) I didn't know it, but my friend had stopped by the front desk, told them how my family had been staying at the Poly for so many yrs etc and came back for this special birthday and asked how she could make arrangements to pay for balloons etc ...they said, no, no ,no charge, we'll do something and will be in the room this afternoon. Four days go by and nothing...the last afternoon she disappeared for awhile and about 10 mins after she returned there's a knock at the door, with 6 birthday balloons, a chocolate bar in the shape of a surfboard with the Polynesian written across it...and a card from Mickey & Minnie. Pretty cool! I have a pic of it all....and the nice basket my daughter ordered from Disney Florist which was delivered the first day. :teeth:

I asked where all this came from and she told me the story...that afternoon she went directly to the manager, told her story and how she wanted to arrange for something and pay for, but was told no that the resort would do something etc....he apologized over and over and promised he would take care of it.

Anyhoo...when the kids were young, we celebrated many events at the Poly and always made our own arrangements for something special... Poly never did anything, but then we did not expect anything..and had no idea the resort even did anything sometimes.

BUT...lol...the first yr we stayed at CBR, (1988 & it was brand new!) it was my godson's 17th birthday - we had mentioned it in passing when checking-in..and really in passing, barely said a word. We got back one afternoon to find balloons, pale with shovel, T-shirt and a cake!!! Those were the days! Of course, again, we had no idea the resort did things like that.

And back in the days when the CM's in reservations were incredible - I got to chit chatting with one...when we arrived at our BC room a manila envelope was slid under the door - it had certificates for all the family and a card from Mickey and Minne from the CM at CRO!!! :)

Oh...and we received a beautiful basket surprise at the GF after I dropped off a note to guest services complimenting a CM who helped us after a challenging check-in. Nice things still do happen.

Sooo, not to put a damper on hopes for a surprise, but think how much more of a surprise it will be if a resort does do something special!!!! You can certainly ask for a card to be sent to the room...and then the resort might do more. Ya know, with your sweetest smile... "would it be possible to get an anniversary card from Mickey & Minnie..it would make this extra special" (or whatever character you like). That would be nice to save!

Boy oh boy, I'm babbling this morning! Sorry! :guilty:

Hi Christine! :yay: Good morning. We are finally getting the gloomy weather from down yonder. It's raining and just blah outside. Thank you for the anniversary wishes. :) I lost internet connection again so I turned off the computer too. I've been up since 7am waiting for the tech to show up and check things out. :confused3 Yeehaw.

I've been to WDW about 6 or 7 times in my lifetime and only stayed on property once. (three months ago) This visit is going to be amazing no matter what. I will not get my hopes up for any surprises. No way am I going to do that to myself. If it's meant to be for us to have a sprinkling of pixies dust, well, fantastic. If not, I'll be lounging in my hammock with a cool beverage regardless! :thumbsup2 Wow. You've been to WDW a whole bunch of times. Lucky! I'm glad that you had a special celebration on your birthday. :dance3:

My fourteen year old step daughter just showed up. I have a feeling I'm about to lose a computer! :scared1: I wish she were old enough to drive... Take the car!!! Just leave me the computer!! :lmao:

You need two computers!! Hope the tech guy comes soon!! :thumbsup2

To continue the mood of babble...

Well, my lifetime has more yrs than yours :goodvibes and we lived in Boston for many yrs and airfare was super cheap to MCO. Know what's funny? Even tho I'd been to DL as a kid, I knew nothing about WDW and never gave it it thought until Spring vacation of 1981 when I kept hearing neighborhood kids saying they were going or had been. My landlord's son (who was in his early 20's) started giving me loads of info...saying to be sure to stay at the Polynesian Village and so on. So, I began planning! We were not able to snag a reservation at the Poly for August, but the CR was fabulous! All that was available was a Garden Wing std view ($79 a ngt inc tx!!), but boy, oh boy!! We opened the curtains and the monorail glided by...we thought we had the best room in the house!!! The kids could see the top of Space Mtn from our room and entrance to MK....fabulous!!

Because we were completely hooked, we took a friend for each of the kids and went back for a long weekend in March 1982,..yep...at the Polynesian Village.

..sigh...gosh those days were fun...we did all the dinner shows, we had a 3 day MK tkt which included a day at River Country (no EPCOT in 1981). In March, EPCOT was open so we took the monorail over, but didn't want to go in...we hadn't had enough of MK yet..and in those days, EPCOT did not have any characters...not even Mickey. We saved EPCOT for our 4th of July visit that summer. :)

So that began our twice yearly visits - we would alternate between the Polynesian Village and CR Tower (either side could be requested, but we liked to be surprised b/c both Bay Lake and MK views were great).

When I am interested in something I learn every bit of information available and never forget a tidbit of info - doesn't matter what or where it is...so my friends tease me that I have expertise in two things: nuns and WDW. :lmao: By the time the first Steve Birnbaum book came out I could find all the errors...if only I could have written such a book...sigh...now everyone does!!

The kiddos became "Mickey-ed out" within a few years and I've had to find friends to travel with me since then...not always easy, but am not a solo WDW visitor. That's a place to share the joy ...at least for me.

Okay, enough walking down memory lane...

Another computer?! Good gravy Marie. We've got two laptops and a desktop already. :rotfl2: I'm good. ;) She decided to watch tv and my youngest has a friend over playing the Wii... so, I don't need to share right now!! :woohoo:

Airfare from here is ridiculous. We were fortunate to have free tickets when we went in March. (thanks to hubby's boss. He rocks!) We wouldn't even be going next month if it hadn't been for my crazy SIL. I need to win the lottery!! My parents have a home in Largo, FL and I've only been to see them once. At least we have a free place to stay when we do manage a visit and it's only two hours to the World. Driving takes us almost 30 hours so that's basically a week's vacation right there and not really an option either. Yeah. I need to win the lottery.

I told hubby last night that I wanted to do a girls trip with DISboarders. He says, "ok, I wanna do a vegas trip with the boys then." :rotfl2:

Okay...why are you so well versed in nuns? I grew up by a nunnery. :)
