MMM...Popcorn...extra butter....Yummmm

Cassidy Marie is a pretty name.
We liked Maria too, but wound up picking Martina Rae.

Oooh, that's a pretty name. I like it!

I am starving! I've had three cups of coffee and half a sleeve of baby (arrowroot) cookies. Pathetic. I know. I am SOOOO lazy today. I did brush my teef though. :teeth:

What pretty names your daughters have - LOVE both!

My DD is Mia Dorothy..nothing pretty about the middle name, but her paternal grandmother was very ill the day I went into labor and I got sentimental..she hung on for another 21 years. Otherise she would have been Mia Catherine.

DS is (or was depending how one looks at it..I think of him as "is") Toby Michael...I wanted Michael first, with Toby as a middle and nickname, but everyone talked me into the other way around..and of course, I was sorry I didn't do the way I liked best.

Funny though...when Mia was 6/7/8/9 all the little girls loved her middle name b/c they played guess what all time ...the Wizard of Oz!!

Okay, so youse know my name, what about yours????

Oh yeah, half (the French half) of my relatives are in Waltham or Gardner. Small world!!

NO way!! We have relatives in Gardner and Leominster!!! LOL Yup, the French Canadians.

Blamin' me again??? Innocent moi?:rolleyes1

I love to read about nuns...they all feel related...and I must keep up my expertise, ya know.;) The bldg you described is typical of a Motherhouse or Provincial house all over the world - well, ones built 60 to 100 yrs ago anyway.

Here's the habit I wore as a Poor Clare (if I'd entered this monastery I'd probably not be here right now):

Here's my monastery today...just to see the photos of the monastery and garden because that has not changed...but the habits and way of life are very different, so the way they look is not the same...or the way they describe their life -we lived like Roswell.

Okay, I must boring y'all to death with all this nun talk!!:flower3:

Yer safe..I was born in Chicago....on the other hand...maybe by marriage -those are the folks in Gardner and Leominster.

I hardly ever use youse...it's very Brooklyn (and maybe a little Chicago too) and I'm not at all Brooklyn...although I did visit a monastery there.:rotfl2:

Oh, yeah, I knew your name afterall....how could I forget. Old brain, I guess.:lmao:

I had a TV dinner about an hpur ago and it went right through me...I mean I had to RUN to the ladies room, if ya know what I mean.:scared:

Sure could use some arrowroot cookies though...yum. :upsidedow

Oh, I forgot about Leominster. Yup, got relatives there, too. My dad's side of the family is French. My grandma can barely speak English. :)

What a beautiful monastery. Thank you for posting. No, not boring at all. I'm happy you shared. :)

TV dinner! Ack! :scared1: You poor thing. OMG... reminds me. My childhood friend's mother was on vacation in the US a long time ago and got very sick with some bug. When she was coming back across the border, the agent asked her "do you have anything to declare ma'am?" and she said, "Yes I do. Diarrhea!" :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: I thought I would bust a gut laughing when they told me that story. Hee. Thanks for the memory.

The kids and I are eating Popcorn and watching Dunston Checks in.
DH is downstairs on Facebook.

I like both of those names.

My name is Heather.

OMG...that story about the border is hilarious!! :rotfl2:

Tracy and Heather...sound like names from the same generation.Pretty. ::yes:: Very nice to have names .....now I really feel like we know one another.:thumbsup2

Facebook.... A DIS friend sent me an invitation, so I joined, but I am so confused over there!! It's a full time job to figure the place out!:confused3

I guess if we are going to do a girl's trip to WDW, we should at least know each other's names.:lmao::grouphug:

I do Facebook a little too...it's kind of neat, because DIS friends, real-life friends, HS friends, etc. can all "play" together. Sometimes I feel like it can get a little invasive though. I try to be really careful what I post there...you never know who might be lurking, and it uses your real name, KWIM?

I am amazed at how many people my age and older are there though...it's not just for teens like I thought at first.

Oh and I'm giggling at the "youse" thing....I now live an hour from Philadelphia...when I first moved there from MD for college, I heard it for the first time... I always thought it was a "Philly thing".

Yeah, I crack up every time I think of the border story. You have to know the woman. So loud and freakin funny!

Facebook is amazing! I've found so many old friends. It's a great place to chat and hang out. I actually have a DISboard friend on my facebook too, but she seems to have disappeared. Maybe I skeered her off. :sad2: You'll get the hang of it soon enough.

The wedding rebellion story... well it's probably not hard to tell that I was raised Roman Catholic. ;) I got married in a Baptist church! :rotfl: Hubby was raised by a minister and his wife. He wouldn't marry us because hubby was divorced. I was terrified that my grandmother would disown me! :scared1: Turns out that ol granny is quite hip! She couldn't care less. Now, here's the kicker... hubby was raised Baptist by his foster parents and that's all he ever knew, but was actually born Catholic. His first name is Joseph!!! He found this out when he was 16 years old when he got his birth certificate in the mail. :lmao:

I've been cleaning most of the day (and doing laundry) as I want to be able to just sit on my fat a** tomorrow outside in the sunshine so I'm far behind on here today. Let's be sure I got all the names of our friends here so far posted: Heather, Christine (who I've known for awhile) and Tracy.

For those who don't know, I'm Kathy. DH is Mark and we celebrated our 25th at Disney last year. We have two boys--Andy (age 23 and a baseball coach who is going for his Masters and Teaching Certificate starting in the fall) and Mark (age 21 who has two years left at The University of Dubuque and is a wrestler and will teach special education when he graduates and continue his coaching). We have a dog, Cookie, who is a Bichon Friese (I always spell that wrong).

Yeah, names would be good to know! A girl's trip would be a hoot. A real moment to treasure.

Facebook is very private. It just depends on how you have your settings set up. You control who can see any of your details. I agree, there are some crazies out there. Ahem... :rolleyes1

There's quite a few crazies on the DIS too! :rotfl2:

WOW! That's amazing about your hubby! See, they always tell us we are Catholic from birth...always a Catholic etc... LOL

DD wanted an outdoor wedding, which is only for the rich in the Catholic church or those who have a relative who is a priest sort of thing - rich..not a chance and never even a knew a priest outside of Mass. So, we went looking for a way to have the wedding outdoors.

I found a website with former priests who left the church b/c they felt it was too rigid and not welcoming enough and/or felt called to marriage (right up my alley ;) ). Mia had the most wonderful "priest" (and a beautiful ceremony of the deck of a gorgeous converted barn - casual elegance ...in October with all the color! And cows in the distance!! It really was pretty).

Anyway, the priest was so good people were asking for a copy of his homily about marriage!! Guess where we found him?? www.rentapriest.com!!! :goodvibes

I know another post...sorry...

I don't like having to use a real name on FB either...I did not know you could make one up - have a DIS friend who uses an obviously made up name.

The only "friends" I have on FB are DISers and 2 of my DD friends.

I went to so many schools growing up, that I don't remember anyone's name, so would not find anyone from the past..and the nuns who left the monastery - well it would be neat to reconnect with them, but I only knew them by their religious name.

See why I need a Girls WDW trip - I need real life friends!!!! Or would that be RLF?? :rolleyes1

Yeah...I have everything set as private, but still am very careful what I post...ex...some people post every time their DH is out of town, etc...I usually try and post that kind of thing after the fact, just in case the girl I sat beside in Jr. high happens to now be married to an axe murderer or something:scared1::lmao:
There's quite a few crazies on the DIS too! :rotfl2:

:confused3 :rolleyes1 Guilty as charged!!!:lmao:

Yes, yes!! I think it is originally a Philly thing!! Forget Chicago and Brooklyn...I was confused..no news there...:confused3

There's quite a few crazies on the DIS too! :rotfl2:

Now that's an understatement if I ever heard one!!:rotfl2: Kathy and I can both attest to this truth!!:rolleyes1

Ahh and Heather...looks like we know why this group was drawn together!! :dance3:

Well, in case you haven't noticed, I've been sitting on my fat a** all day! :lmao: My hubby's name is Mark too...well technically Joseph if you look at his birth cert. :rotfl2:

I've got four skids - Russell 23, Justine 21, Kathleen 16 and Nadine 14. Don't ask me about all the "eens" ... I wasn't part of that conversation! :rotfl: Then there is our darling kiddo, Cassidie 8 3/4, doggie named Simon and kitty named Holly. I had a kitty named Samantha but had to put her down two years ago. :sad1: She was 16 and sick. I miss her so much!

Justine's boyfriend is a wrestler! He was ranked number 1 in Canada and 18 in the world two years ago. He was actually supposed to represent Canada in the olympics last year but he blew his elbow out. :( He was crushed.

Oh... and I have a case of verbal diarrhea!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
