A great big pickle...sigh.

Avery hated Test Track because it was "too fast." I hated to break the news that it was slower than Daddy drives, and not as jerky! :rotfl2: Soarin' is one of my favorites... especially the orange groves and the ending. But that is all I'm gonna say... no spoilers from me!

Yes!!! The wonderful orange groves they relocated from Horizons!!!

Whyohwhy did they ever close Horizons????? Another stupid Disney decision - it was such a popular attraction...even if it was kinda goofy.:thumbsup2

Wedway People Mover is an all time favorite. What's better than riding 'round and 'round and 'round on any day of the year? A bunch of us did it together one year and threw up our arms like on a coaster and squealed when it went around the track where it goes quickly. SO MUCH FUN!! (silly adults. :guilty:)

I've not done Test Track (did go through the line and take the chicken exit, if that counts for anything.) ;) Soarin' is a thrill ride for me. :rotfl2: It took me 3 tries of walking right through before I actually stayed on the ride4...with my eyes closed and a friend on either side, arms linked. One friend talked me through what was on the screen and little by little would take a peek.

Second time, had friends on either side, but only one arm linked and opened my eyes more...

Third time no one had to link arms and had my eyes open quite a lot - after we ascended - never before.

Now I can enjoy it after it ascends, but only from the 2nd or 3rd row. The MS gives me motion sickness so cannot open my eyes until after we're up and going.

Both can be very crowded, so unless you arrive at rope drop (and even then) grab a fast pass. ::yes::

How about TOT? I did one time the year it opened, with one drop, and was sick for 3 days (MS)...but do go through the line, then take the chicken elevator, so I can enjoy the line with whomever I'm with. Geesh, thought I was having a heart attach after that ride!! My heart was banging in my chest and hands shaking so that I could not get the money of of my wallet to pay for the photo. DD LOVES the photo - everyone looks like they're on a summer picnic and I look terrified!!

So much fun to be had!!!!! :yay:

Ack! :scared1: I wouldn't be able to do Soarin' then. I get severe motion sickness. There was one ride at Epcot - no clue what it was called - but it was a simulation of the inside of a body, I think. OMG, I was never so sick in my entire life. My BIL had to drive me back to the hotel and I was only at the park for an hour. The ticket was wasted. :(

I've never been to the park that has TOT. Is that Universal or whatever it's called now? I've only been to MK, Epcot and Seaworld. I know, pathetic.

:rotfl: Your DH must drive like my DSIL, except he drives slow and jerky....

It's okay. I can't go on it. I would lose my innards!

We did that for parent swap last year. We all went through the line until we got to the elevator doors. Then Avery and I were going down the chicken elevator to wait for Wynn and Tucker. Well, Avery was worried the chicken elevator would fall, too, and was refusing to get on. I picked her up and carried her on, but she had a death grip on my neck, claws digging in... the works! I, mean mommy that I am, waited until the elevator started to go down, then did a fake scream and acted like we were dropping. (I was really doing it to break the tension for her, knowing she would know I was tricking her, and so there was no reason to worry.) Well... the CM thought I was horrid, and had this look on his face like I was Satan, and then Avery busted out laughing. Anyway, the CM thought it was so funny, that he dressed Avery up as the bellhop, and had her usher people out of the elevator when her Daddy and brother came down. (see pic below)

They are changing the cars AGAIN??? I thought they just changed them?!

:confused3 I don't keep up with that stuff too often. I had just known about the closing because we had originally planned to go during that time.

It actually doesn't move other than up into "ride" position, and then back down at the end. It is a movie that makes you feel as if you are hang gliding, but the car itself doesn't move. You could simply close your eyes if it was getting to you. I'll tell you the spoilers if you want me too, though.

TOT is in Hollywood Studios (MGM)

Okay, peoples. I've got to head out to Costco for a few things. I shall be back in a bit. Tomorrow is Canuck day so I have to get a cake or something to celebrate. Maybe we'll make cupcakes. Hrm...

I have to figure out what I am doing for July 4th. We have the carnival type rides and blow-up slides, crafts for the kids, symphony does Pops in the Park, then fireworks near our house. We are going with some friends, and will picnic, etc. Tons of fun! I think I am going to take sausage balls and chips and cream cheese/salsa dip.

Severe Motion sickness is one of the effects of 'my' MS (multiple sclerosis). Kari is right in that it goes up and then down - and the effect is supposed to be like hang gliding - but there's the problem and why I close my eyes so much. The movement of the hang glider motion can make me sick in a heartbeat. What helped me the first time was keeping my eyes closed and a friend narrated it as we went along. She also has MS, but is not effected by motion. By her excellent narration, I was able to peek now and then...so with each ride thereafter, could open my eyes a bit here and there - enough that I was able to enjoy the overall experience. In all honesty, I may never do Soarin' again due to the motion, but am glad I tried a few times b/c it really is beautiful. Remember, when you open your eyes to look straight ahead and never waver left, right or down and keep your eyes closed ascending and descending or you'll be sick for days -the way I was after TOT.

WOW, sounds like loads of fun for the munchkins!! I'll be sitting here, keeping an eye on our 14 yr old Jackie (Maltese) to be sure the Valium is working to keep her from freaking from the fireworks going off in the neighborhood.

Maybe dsil will grill some hotdogs etc.
I do live a remarkably exciting life.:rotfl2:

OMgosh, I missed this!! So that's the story behind that photo! Love the photo - a real treasure and story to be told over and over again. Poor Avery though - I can completely relate to her fear.:scared1: She has a Mommy with a great sense of humor..or would that be sick sense of humor?? :thumbsup2

I am not risking it. No way, no how. When I get sick I get REALLY sick and it lasts for days. I do not want that to happen on this vacation since it will probably be our last for a gazillion years. :sad1:

Uhhhh, I left the house without my list so I don't have anything to make cupcakes with. Like a MIX. Sigh. Guess it's scratch for me. If I had a brain, I'd be dangerous. Seriously.

I understand, so best to avoid it then - exactly what happened to me after TOT.

DUH! No list, no shopping! Don'tcha just hate when that happens??

I leave the house without my list all.the.time. I refuse to go out again. I'm going to get into my jammies and drink muh cawfee and have a strawberry shortcake. :p
