Hi all!! I am going to "The World" for five days in September and I nned some good ideas about walking shoes. I have worn only tennis shoes in the past but would like to find a supportive sandal. Any suggestions?? :flower:

Thanks in advance for your help!!

TEVA are the best walking sandals IMHO...

Teva Pretty Rugged (more cusion than the cheaper Tevas) or Ecco Cosmos. They are both very good (like walking on clouds) walking sandals.

Another vote for Teva's  I walked around in them for 2 weeks one July in Florida and my feet never felt better.

If you want a great sandal with a bit more feminine style, I adore the "Naot" line. They are a bit difficult to find, but comepletly worth every penny. I found these the week before I went through WDW 7 months pregnant in June. They saved my life! My sister tells me she found them online. Good Luck!

Teva!

For men, Teva. My DH has had his Tevas for three years now and they are still going strong!

Another vote for Tevas! I've got the Pretty Rugged Leather Sandals and two pair of flip flops (Olawahu and Mush). I'm not a flipflop wearer (can't stand the thing between the toes and couldn't keep them on), but these are wonderful! Only shoes that don't hurt my feet. The only Tevas I've found I don't like are the Teva Hurricanes. They just don't feel right and the velcro on top is too long and scratched the top of my foot.

I never wear anything in the parks other than Lizflex by Liz Claiborne and they've always worked fine for me. I've never heard of Tevas but I'd love to check them out. Where can you buy them?

There was a thread about this on saturday.
People mentioned Tevas, Birkenstocks and Merrill

I found a pair of walking sandals on Land's End for $30 that i figured i would try before going down there

You can buy them at any sporting store or hiking store. You can also get them at www.rei.com, www.sportsauthority.com, www.zappos.com etc...

I've gotten good prices (sale prices) at www.rei.com and www.sportsauthority.com. I just bought the pretty rugged nylon pair at www.rei.com in the outlet department!

I can't stand flip flops because of that thing between my toes but I LOVE Reefs! They are soooo comfy. My mom, sister and I all wore them the entire trip last October. My feet were cool and comfy and they didn't get achy or tired. I was surprised! I didn't use my walking sneakers the whole time!

I have a womens' D width foot, so it is hard for me to find shoes. I keep buying what I hope to be the perfect walking sandal. I had a wonderful pair of Easy Spirits, but I wore them to the beach/ocean a couple of years ago and no matter what I do, they keep secreting sand. Last summer I bought another pair of Easy Spirit sandals at an outlet. Well, they didn't feel too good after a day at the mall, so I doubt that I'll love them at WDW. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a pair of huraches from a place that makes mostly nurses type shoes...comfy, but the strap in back keeps slipping.

The latest purchase was the Teva Mush flip flops. They are $19.99 at Famous Footwear. They were having a buy one pair get one at half price sale and DD was buying shoes, so I picked them up for $10. I wore them a lot yesterday. I may need to break them in a little at the sides, but they have lots of support. They MAY be the ones!

someone on another post suggested earth shoe sandles at wal-mart. I was out and about one day and had to have my typical Wal-Mart fix and was looking in the shoe depatrment and found several pairs of earth shoe sandles. I tried a pair on that look just like the Tevas and OMG how comfy. I got a pair for my honeymoon trip in 12 days :cheer2:  I paid 15.00 for them and have not wanted to take them off yet! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

Although I loved my TEVAs, they did make the bottom of my feet sweat like the dickens. I like that they have good traction and can dry quickly, essential after water rides.

I LOVE my Nike Straprunners with all my heart! I have a black pair. I'm also checking out Teva's...I'd like to get a pair of those too. My 6 month pregnant feet will love me with those two types of shoes to walk in!
