a good time for Captain Marvin?

I am planning on booking with Captain Marvin for the Stingray City excursion. Was wondering if there was a good time slot for the excursion. I've checked their website, and saw that there were couple slots available. What would be a good time to book for, without having to feel like we need to "rush" off the boat. Will be traveling with DH, DS 4, & DS 2.

And can anyone tell me, would it be too scary for my 2 year old? DS 4 is excited about swimming with the stingrays, but not quite sure about DS 2.

Btw, I have a DCL excursion booked, Stingray City Observation & Island Tour, but heard that we won't be swimming with the stingrays, but just "look & touch". And I REALLY wanted to swim with them, and thus, my dilema!

Any tips & suggestions are appreciated! Thank you! :wave2:

Hi, we are leaving on Friday for our trip on the 14th and have booked with captain marvins too. We have two girls 4 and 8 and decided to do the 2 hour trip which is just to the sandbar, no other stops, at 11:15. I think that will give us enough time to have breakfast and then take a stroll over to Captain Marvins office. This will get us back to the port area by 2:00. Good luck, I hope this will help you. Enjoy your trip.

We went on Captain Marvins with a 4 and 7 year old. The 4 year old wanted nothing to do with going in the water, but was happy to stay on the boat while the three of us went in. There was always someone on the boat and people got off and on all the time. It's easy enough for you to take turns in the water. I was more comfortable with taking our son with us, then leaving him on the ship. They were happy just for the boat ride. The 7 year old loved the snorkeling. Both he and I got "freaked out" by the stingrays, though I would not have missed it for the world.

thank you for the info.

torontodisney...have fun!!!!!!! if you have time when you get back...let me know how it went. expecially with your 4 year old. i'm sure you & your family will have a wonderful time! enjoy!!!!!!! :wave2:

I went last summer and there were young families on this excursion. Your 2 yr old will probably not realize what's going on unless you scream, etc. Your 4 yr. old may be alittle scared. The rays come right up to people. He won't be able to stand in the water. Most of the younger kids stayed on the boat. That said, this was an amazing experience and the water was beautiful and the rays were quite a sight! (I was scared but I did get in for a little while!!)
