Hi What is a good deodorant for a young girl? My daugther is getting pretty stinky especially now that the weather is getting warmer. I can't believe it, I don't remember being this young but it seems like its happening earlier now for some reason!

Secret, powder scent. Its my favorite and it smells exactly like baby powder so its not a noticeably "sweet" or flowery scent.

I was wondering if they needed to use some lighter since they were so young?

I don't know if they still make it, but I used Teen Spirit as my first deodorant. They always had great scents for teens/pre-teens.

My daughter uses Tom's and a mineral salt one (I can't remember the brand). They help a little, but depending how much running around she does, she can still get pretty potent :scared:. I'm trying to avoid some of the other stronger brands because she is only going to be 11.

Degree Girl is a good one. They have fun scents and work really well. My Aunt buys it for my younger cousins.

Mine uses the degree girl/teen. BUT has also used dove and secret she is 12.

DD7 has precocious puberty and has been using deodorant/antiperspirant since she was 5. Her endocrinologist said that Secret, Dove, Degree, etc were all fine and safe to use. DD used Secret until Degree Girl came out and now she uses that.

Dove is great. It's very moisturizing and has several pleasant scents. They also make a prescription strength version.

Dove. It's gentle and has some powdery scents. They do a lot to promote healthy body image in young women.

Some years back I noticed my then teen was having this problem. It wasn't getting better trying different products, so I tried a smell check right after the shower. It wasn't the product fault, it was the bathing shortcuts. I had to re-teach shower technique and it was no longer a problem.

We also use Degree for my little girl and it works great. She has super sensitive skin and has never complained once about irritation.

Our DD went through this at about 10 - 11. It wasn't just showering or needing deodorant, she actually just smelled awful. I think it was the onset of hormones at the very beginning of puberty. She uses Secret like many others have recommended. Around age 11 1/2 it just stopped. She still has to shower daily and use deodorant, but the smell is no longer eminating out of her pores.

DD11 uses Degree. She used Degree Girl originally but now we just buy the multipack of Degree at BJ's and she gets half of them and I get half of them.

She's an athlete and sometimes showers twice a day depending on the season and what she has going on.

Thanks I'm going to see what I can find at the grocery store today if not I'll go to Walgreens. She has gym and dance today so I'm a day late buying this! lol
