We just got back from a 3 day vacation at an amusement & water park (not Disney). Now this is only the 3rd vacation that the 4 of us have taken together (housing was 1st at regular hotel, 2nd with friends at OKW and 3rd at a regular hotel) so I'm not speaking from a lot of experience here. Looking at only the housing aspect of the vacations, DH and I agreed that buying into DVC seems to be the best step we've taken towards a happy time. Why?
1. The kids have their own bedroom. Trying to get all 4 of us to go to sleep at the same time at night and my toddler down for a nap during the day with her non-napping sister yapping away was next to impossible.
2. Kitchen facilities. Even the kids grew tired of amusement park and fast food. I just wanted something not fried!
3. Outdoor balcony space. The hotel was nice, I just wanted to feel fresh air at times. Plus DH and I would have had a place to sit and talk after the girls went to bed.
4. Washer & dryer. It was a pain to just even dry beach towels.
We've not even heard our first official "Welcome Home" while on vacation, but holy cow...what a difference DVC can make!
