I, for one, look forward to seeing your pictures when they're FINALLY developed!

As to the people who demanded that the thread title be changed, I hope that in daily life you're very careful to avoid any potentially "insensitive" words/phrases such as:

"********" - to mean something stupid
"coronary/heart attack" - when frightened
"aneurysm" - when stressed

etc., etc.

One never knows who may know someone who has a challenged child, whose family member may have had a heart attack or aneurysm, etc.

Let's not be hypocritical and jump all over something innocent.

When I saw the title I got a lump in my throat. It's just such a horrifying thing that's going on right now - everytime I open up CNN the word "beheading" jumps out at me and tears come to my eye.

I am really sorry that this has turned into a debate thread b/c I honestly just wanted to share a story with people who I thought would appreciate it the most and never thought for a second that my character would be called into question by people I don't even know

and for future reference - the nicest way to ask me to change the title would have been a pm - simply stating

I am sure that it never occurred to you that the title of your thread might be upsetting to some but in light of recent beheadings in current events - you might want to consider changing it.

Which obviously I would have done and this thread would have stayed an amusing story

Well, I'm the person who posted first about the title. And there was no intent on my part to attack your character. I thought that stating the title was sensitive subject should have been cue enough to prompt you to change it.

But having said that, I am utterly amazed that someone (I think it was only one) had no clue that this horrible thing happened again this week. Not just once, but it appears it may have been 4 times.

And I'm just as amazed that someone else would make the comment "is that all you think about?". *THAT* was pretty darn insensitive IMO.

That would be me that said that and I stand by it.

As I stated earlier, yes, it's horrible what's going on in the world today, and yes, too many prisoners have been beheaded. I think about this stuff every day as I drive to work past the nuclear power plant in my town, wondering if someone will blow it up or something.

However, it's not the ONLY thing I think about. I do what I can to maintain a "normal" lifestyle. To do otherwise would mean that they win. I'm not going to do that.
