I know they generally have a bad rap, and people come here now and then scared from bad reviews, so I wanted to share the awesome experience I had today.
I've flown Frontier 4 times in recent months and so far so good. Today, for the first time I had to cancel my flight and reschedule because I'm home sick with the flu. Exploring their website I found that Frontier will waive the change fee for "emergency events." Sure enough I called and they told me what they needed. I sent over a doctors note indicating I was too sick to fly and within minutes I had a credit in my account for my tickets and fees were waived to rebook. The customer service reps were awesome on the phone and online.
My departing flight airline (aa) was not so accommodating and their fee was double too. I canceled that one and will file with my credit card travel cancellation policy. I'm relieved they will reimburse me but it was so much easier the way Frontier handled it.
Just wanted to share.
