A freshman from my school died

She died on Tuesday night from a severe asthma attack in her house. Yesterday was so depressing in school. Most of the freshman girls were just standing in the hallway crying. Because I'm a senior, I didn't know who she was but I was emotionally drained by the end of the day from seeing all the mourning. There were priests and rabbis and counselors to talk to people. Her brother, a junior, refuses to go back home because thats where she died so he is staying with a friend.

This is the saddest part. Her funeral is on Saturday, which would have been her Confirmation. Earlier in the day on Tuesday she went shopping with her mom for a Confirmation dress and thats what she will be buried in. Also, Sunday is Mothers Day and her birthday.

My sister was kind of friends with her so they are all making collages of pictures with her to give to her mother.

Please keep her family in your thoughts, especially on Sunday. Thanks.

I have a freshman daughter and a sophomore son - I can't imagine the pain this family must be enduring. :(

I will certainly keep them in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about this. My heart aches for that family. Asthma is such a horrible disease. I have said a prayer for her family and friends.

I'm at a loss for words. I'm so sorry.

That's so sad, I'm sorry. :(

So sad and so sorry for everyone's loss. Her family and everyone at your school is my prayers.

That whole story is so sad. Confirmantion, Mother's day, Birthday... how horrible for her family and friends. My prayers are with them.

We had a freshman die Monday night at our college. A young man hung himself in the community bathroom. His girlfriend was searching for him and had asked others to start looking for him--she, unfortunately was the one who found him.:( No note or anything.:(

So very sad, JB. :( A lot of weight to bear there. My best to all who are affected by this young lady's passing. Her legacy, memory will live on.

Hearing of someone dying of asthma is scary, as I know many children with that condition! How sad for your school and community. :( :( :(

Where in Jersey did this take place, may I ask?
