A "French Fry Party".....

My kids are going to a 9th birthday party this weekend, and it is a "French Fry Party" as well..... the girl whose birthday it is came up with the idea.... They are having:

Curly Fries

Shoestring Fries

Steak Fries

Crinkle Fries

Waffle Fries

..... and Onion Rings!

So they are also adding all the condiments.... Malt vinegar, ketchup, mayo, Old Bay seasoning, mustard, and hot sauce....

So, what is your favorite kind of fry ( or onion ring ) and what are you putting on them?

I rarely eat fries - though I actually had onion rings and about 3 fries tonight.

On skinny fries I like ketchup or 1000 island dressing. On thicker fries I like malt vinegar or ketchup. On onion rings I only like ketchup. Sometimes I add hot sauce.

The one and only thing for fries:

It's not Thousand Island dressing, nor is it just ketchup and mayo mixed. It's much, much, more. Once you go fry sauce, you won't go back to anything else. Ever.

A good homemade fry needs nothing more than salt.

At the shore, though, I am partial to a sprinkle of malt vinegar. At Five Guys, I love their Cajun seasoning. Five Guys is my fave outside of my own, although I rarely make them anymore. Too messy and too fattening!

BTW, no ketchup ever on my fries. Yuck. I put up with ketchup on burgers and use it to make cocktail sauce, but otherwise, I think it's a vile substance.

OOHH invite me, invite me!!! I LOVE french fries. That is my comfort food big time. I"m having a mini pity party for myself this morning and thinking I need chick fila waffle fries for lunch or Five Guys fries for dinner

I love my fries with texas pete hot sauce and ketchup or cajun seasoning. My sweet potato fries usually have a touch of brown sugar and chili pepper mix.

I could pass on the cake but I'll eat the icing

I like Ore Ida Golden Crinkles or Steak Fries with ketchup. I like waffle fries with ranch dressing. I love potatoes in general and often will have a meal of just french fries.

A frozen bag of fries screams for Train Wreck Fries in our house- Bacon, Cheese, Scallions, Guacamole and ranch for dipping.
(We have those like once a month but the kids would have them daily if I'd let them)

What? No hashbrowns or tator tots? They should have those at the party too! I love salt and vinegar on my chips (fries). Never tried it until I moved the UK and I love it. Some people eat mayo on their fries but I think it's disgusting but might be worth trying.

54th Street Grill's Hombre (waffle) Fries with either Gringo dip or Ranch dressing. YUM!

Anywhere else, it's usually just some salt. Maybe a little ketchup.

And I agree, the fry party idea is awesome!

The only french fries I don't like are from Nathans as well as sweet potato fries. Other than that, I like mine lightly salted with cheese and sour cream on mine -YUM!

You're always on my invite list, Tina! French fries and potato chips are both my downfall. I don't eat 'em very often but they are both my very favorite indulgences.

And what's funny is that dd and I have a deal with cake--I eat the cake and she eats the icing. So I'm fine with passing the icing on to you!

<sigh!> I remember when McDonald's used to fry their fries in beef fat. They were so good! Other than that, they are still my favorite fries. I like them nice & thin. The thick ones have too much middle to them.

I like mine with salt & lots of ketchup.
