As for me, I miss Quaker Quisp and Quake cereals. Quisp is available on Amazon for stupid amounts of money, but Quake seems to be totally gone.

My local Shoprite had Quisp about a month ago. (Northeast US).

My kids loved Nestle's Wonderballs.

They were hallow balls of thin chocolate, and inside were either small sour candies (like Sweetarts or Bones). The small sour candies usually had a theme; like Disney characters. As an added bonus, there were either stickers or tattoos with the Disney characters as well.

The loved them! They are now 19 and 16 and still talk about them!

My 19 year old loved those too, she got one everytime we went grocery shopping.

Alot of the old candies can be found at Cracker Barrel, I love Zagnuts and thats the only place I can find them here. I also get dh blackcows, Mallocups, and Sky bars there all the time!

I just miss the ding dongs when they were wrapped in aluminum foil, they tasted so much better back then!

New York Seltzer and Clearly Canadian. Those were special treats we would have while on vacation.

Planters cheese balls.

Surge pop...er soda for most of you.

Mini Rice Krispie Treats cereal.

Gum without all the sweeteners. I can't have any kind of sweeteners and occasionally like to have a piece of gum but there are none that just have sugar. I did get a pack when I was in the States at Cracker Barrel but haven't found any at all here in Canada.
Does anyone know if they sell regular gum (no sweeteners) at Sam's Club?

The one I thought of initially was Grape Tang. Someone mentioned Tang, and I've seen the orange flavor but not the grape. Not that I'd buy it now anyway lol.

Also, I remember devil's food Twinkies from the 70's. They weren't around very long.

I bought Quisp last year at a local IGA.( I'm in the Northeast US as well.) I was so surprised to see it. It was a special display and I bought three boxes.:hyper:

The IGA isn't there anymore and our local Shoprite closed....I'll have to find another one in the area. Now I'm on a mission to find more Quisp!

Rice Valenciana......it was in a box and you could add any meat to it. We usually used tuna because it was so cheap (10 cents a can) and the rice was only 35 cents. I had dinner for 2 days for 2 people for under 50 cents!

Of course, that was "back in the day" when our rent was $67.50 for the garage apt we rented (which included our electric and water--we paid our own gas.) The bedroom was so narrow that you had to get in and out of the double bed by the foot--no room on the sides!! BTW our first house was $19,500 for a 3 BR, 1 1.5 bath in a brand new subdivision. We bought it right before our 10th anniversary.

Nielson's Treasure Bar chocolate bar. Six different cream or jellied fillings in yummy milk chocolate. They were phased out in the 1970s, I think.

I use to like to keep Snack'n Cake mixes in the house for a quick cake fix. They came in a box that included the pan and frosting. You mixed it in the pan.

We use to get these fish tv type dinners that included crab cakes and 3 or 4 other types of fish. They were nice for a quick lunch.

Boil N Bags. The one I really liked was chicken and rice and broccoli. They were bagged frozen dinners that you cooked in boiling water. Loved those. The beef one was pretty good too.

Diet soda and gum and candy sweetened with Cyclamates which tasted just like the versions made with real sugar.

Cyclamates were banned in 1969 in the U.S. because of their extreme cancer risk.

Ironically today, Cyclamates are allowed in 55 countries as the SAFE sweetener, and all the artificial sweeteners in the U.S. are banned as dangerous in other countries. :confused3

Big fat SweeTarts! They were as big as a small round bar of soap, about the size of a ready-to-eat Jello. You had to bite the edges and let it crumble in your mouth. If you tried to lick it, it would just about blister your tongue because it was grainy. But, oh my! I loved that stuff. The new kind that comes in a tube just isn't the same, and the chewy ones are just nasty to me.

Freshen up gum. The gum that goes squirt.

Just checked. They still have it available online. Might have to buy some.

I would love this too!
