A Food and Whine Festival Weekend (Our First Mini-Trip as Parents) FINAL UPDATE 11/23

Y'all got a lot done in that first day!

Even though Luke was unimpressed with Dumbo, that's good that he woke up for the ride. And I think it's a great first ride. :thumbsup2

I'm so jealous that y'all got to see New Fantasyland!! I was really wishing it would be open at some point during our trip but no luck. It looks really great! I can't wait to get there to see it. And LeFou's Brew sounds good!

So sorry to hear that you couldn't enjoy your concert. I would have been the same way. And the couple next to you - really?!? Are the Gin Blossoms famous? :headache:

It didn't feel like a lot until I wrote it all out!

That couple must not have owned a radio in the early 90s. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

On Saturday, we were going back to Epcot again to try a few more things at the F&W Festival, and for Brian and I to enjoy a quiet lunch at Le Cellier while Tom and Luke spent some quality time together. Since it wasn't imperative that we get an early start, we decided to let Luke be our alarm this morning, and he woke up around 8am, absolutely psyched to spend his second day at Disney World.

daytwo1.jpg

But not with this thing. Sadly, he's in a stage where he doesn't like having anything on his head.

daytwo2.jpg

I fed Luke some oatmeal for breakfast, then we all got ready and walked to Artist's Palette so Tom could get a drink.

daytwo3.jpg

daytwo4.jpg

We were going to catch the bus from there, but then Brian realized he'd forgotten his pins, so we went back to the room and caught the bus at the Grandstand stop.

daytwo5.jpg

daytwo6.jpg

We arrived at Epcot around 9:20, and since World Showcase wasn't open yet we were going to do a few things in Future World. Our first stop?

daytwo7.jpg

The wait time was an astounding 40 minutes. Does that sound like a long time? I guess it's really not, since it breaks down to less than ten minutes per character, but I have ZERO patience, and I absolutely didn't want to wait in a 40 minute line with an infant. I probably would have walked away, but Brian reminded me that the Character Spot was closing the next day for refurbishment, and after that Donald wouldn't be appearing anywhere at Walt Disney World in his sailor outfit, so it was pretty much now or never. So we stayed.

The wait didn't kill any of us, and finally it was our chance to meet Mickey. I carried Luke up while Tom took pictures and Brian videotaped us.

The first thing Mickey did was pull Luke's pacifier out of his mouth.

daytwo8.jpg

THANK YOU, MICKEY MOUSE. I absolutely would have forgotten it was in there and I would have been so annoyed when I looked at all of the pictures.

daytwo10.jpg

daytwo9.jpg

I don't know if that soured Luke's opinion of Mickey Mouse, but as you can tell, he wasn't very impressed.

daytwo11.jpg

He was equally unimpressed with Pluto, so we didn't linger.

We moved on to Minnie, and after initially giving her the cold shoulder...

daytwo12.jpg

daytwo13.jpg

...he warmed up to her.

daytwo14.jpg

We got a smile!

Next we enjoyed a rousing game of Peek-a-Boo with Donald Duck.

daytwo15.jpg

daytwo16.jpg

Oh Luke. You make the strangest faces sometimes.

Finally we met Goofy.

daytwo17.jpg

He's touching his teeth here because I was telling Luke that his front teeth look just like Goofy's.

daytwo18.jpg

Unfortunately I don't think Luke appreciated the comparison.

Brian videotaped the whole thing, and while we were meeting Goofy, Donald peeked around the corner and waved at Brian. I didn't see it happen, but the video was adorable. If I had any idea how to post it, I would.

I knew Luke would be needing a nap and a snack soon, but I thought he would be good for one more attraction, so next we headed to a place that I hoped he would enjoy even though it TERRIFIES me!

How's that for a cliffhanger?

Those morning pictures of Luke are just so sweet!! :goodvibes

And the pictures of him meeting the characters are priceless. Glad he warmed up to them with Minnie!

Can't wait to see what "terrifying" ride y'all went on!

I have many ridiculous fears, but my worst ridiculous fear of all is probably...

fish.

I mean, look at this thing:

fish2.jpg

That's the stuff nightmares are made of.

Sadly, though, I'm also afraid of these little guys:

goldfish.jpg

But The Seas with Nemo & Friends is a nice low-key ride we could all do together, and I thought Luke might enjoy the aquariums. At this point I'd completely forgotten that Journey into Imagination still existed, or we might have done that instead.

The queue area is indoors, quiet, and dark. So of course Luke fell asleep.

All four of us squeezed into one clamobile (sorry, Tom) and Luke woke up a few minutes into the ride. It didn't thrill him, but he did seem to enjoy the aquariums afterwards.

Now it was time for Luke to eat again, so I told the guys I was going back to the baby care center. I don't remember what they ended up doing, but this is the only photographic record of their adventures:

epcot.jpg

I fully intended to go to the baby care center, but during my (probably meandering) walk back to World Showcase, I came upon the Festival Center instead!

fish8.jpg

I decided to go in and check out the Chase Lounge, which is a small private area for Chase credit card holders. I'm usually not much of an elitist, but the lounge had free Coke. I don't pass up free Coke, especially at Disney World.

Since the lounge isn't large, we had to wait in line for about 10-15 minutes. The line formed near the Ghirardelli Chocolate Experience where there were free chocolate samples and a bunch of sculptures made out of chocolate. It was pretty much heaven. After awhile I realized that I should have called Brian and Tom to ask if they wanted to join me, but there was a pretty good sized line behind me so I didn't bother. I figured I could go back later and take pictures, but we never made it back. Here's an article with some pictures of the chocolate sculptures.

When we got inside, fortunately there was a spot open on a couch so I fed Luke as discreetly as I possibly could, which probably wasn't very discreet at all. Sorry, Chase credit card holders, but I did my best. They had fountain sodas and coffee available. I can't remember if there were snacks. The coffee cups were full size with lids while the soda cups were dinky little plastic things that I knew Luke would either stick his hand in or slap out of my hand, so I filled a coffee cup with Coke and we went on our way.

We met back up with Brian and Tom, and by now we were all hungry (I'd had a protein bar, but I don't think the guys had any breakfast) so we headed toward World Showcase.

Besides Terra, the other booth I wanted to try for the first time was Greece. So many of the foods were vegetarian but I'd never had any of it before.

Then I saw the line.

And it was insane.

We've already established that I have no patience, so I got annoyed and refused to wait. We kept walking around World Showcase and saw that all of the lines were ridiculous. Now, it was a Saturday, and I knew that Epcot was much busier on the weekends, but I guess I just assumed that we'd been there on a weekend before and it hadn't been that bad. I checked my trip journal afterwards and saw that we've only been to the F&W Festival in past years on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So I guess we weren't prepared for the crowds after all. Oops.

Lesson #4 for Next Time: Do NOT attempt the Food and Wine Festival on a weekend! The crowds are no joke.

I remembered that I wanted to meet Pooh and Tigger in the UK, so we stopped there to see if they were out. They weren't. But we did find some cool new merchandise in the shop!

uk0.jpg

uk1.jpg

uk2.jpg

We walked on to Morocco and then turned around and headed back to Canada because it was time for me and Brian to check in for our lunch date!

Brian here, Holly's wonderful husband.

In case you were wondering what Tom and I were doing while Holly went off to feed Luke, we rode the aforementioned Journey into Imagination. Tom had never experienced this ride and I had only been on the current incarnation once. I know I rode the original back in the 80's but I don't really remember anything about it. I DO know that most fans agree that the current ride is better than previous one, but a far cry from the original.

I think the ride is OK. I like the disappearing bird effect. Yes, I know how it's done but it's still neat to watch. Tom liked how they tied Rick Moranis and Robin Williams into the concept of the ride. The thing that I don't like is how, in a majority of the ride scenes, most of the room is unthemed. Disney rides are usually very immersive but it seems like the rooms are completely black except for whatever is right in front of you. It makes the ride name seem ironic.

Anyway, as we boarded the ride vehicle, the CM said "please remove hats and glasses from your head". I had my sunglasses pushed up onto my head and I started to remove them. Then I thought, "I don't remember much about this ride, but I remember it doesn't go fast". So I left them there. Then, during one of the ride scenes, they blow a strong blast of air at the back of your head. My sunglasses slipped back down to my face. I turned and looked at Tom. He slowly turned to me and gave me his famous Tom face. It's hard to describe, but imagine Sylvester the cat from Looney Toons saying "you're despicable" and you kind of get the gist of the Tom face. Tom said "You knew that was going to happen, didn't you?" Which could have very well been followed up with "You're despicable".

After the ride, we wandered around the Imageworks area for a few minutes and tried out some of the interactive displays. Then we headed to the gift shop to look for PINS, of course. I had been stopping at every pin rack to look for the mechanical Donald and giraffe print Mickey head pins for Holly and a Saratoga Springs Resort pin for myself. If it wasn't mentioned before, I buy the pin of each resort we stay at. When we arrived at SSR I immediately looked for my new resort pin. They didn't have it. No one had it. I'm pretty sure I eventually spotted a pin for every resort on property EXCEPT SSR.

While I was looking at the pin rack, Tom asked one of the CMs to trade for an Orange Bird pin. There are 5 Hidden Mickey Orange Bird pins and Tom and I were in "competition" to find them. I actually hadn't realized he liked the Orange Bird but later he posted on Facebook that it was "no surprise that one of his favorite characters looks like a Pokemon". It made a lot more sense to me after that. But not only did he get an Orange Bird, the CM asked if he wanted to trade for a "super secret pin". At first, he was hesitant because he wouldn't know what the pin was until after he traded. I thought "what's the big deal? If you don't like it, you trade it to the next CM". Tom finally agreed and as she was handing him the pin, she said "now, you can't trade this away". HAHA!!! There goes that plan. Not that she would know anyway. It ended up being a limited Epcot 30th anniversary pin. Tom was very pleased and I'll admit, I was slightly jealous.

Then we headed out to meet Holly near the entrance to World Showcase (right next to the watermelon patch pictured in the previous update).

We checked out the Chase Member Lounge on our trip, too. I wish it had been a bit bigger. We ended up sitting on the floor. But, the free cokes were really nice.

Sounds like there were some serious crowds on the weekends! Glad we went during the week. Can't wait to hear about the lunch date!

I love Figment! I know a lot of people don't care for that ride but it makes me smile.

One of these days, I'd really like to get into pin trading. I don't know why but I'm always so hesitant.

One of these days, I'd really like to get into pin trading. I don't know why but I'm always so hesitant.

Don't! Hahaha. Buying the pins gets expensive very quickly. But the hunting and trading for pins really is a lot of fun.

Except for some drinks at La Cava del Tequila and a family dinner at Akershus, Brian and I haven't eaten at any World Showcase restaurants. We decided to start rectifying that with Le Cellier, which also doubled as Brian's birthday meal.

lunch1.jpg

I think Fake Canada is one of the prettiest places in Disney World.

LUNCH2.jpg

lunch3.jpg

We waited about ten minutes or so before we were seated. I know Le Cellier is in the middle of a theme park, but I really thought it would have more of an adult atmosphere. We were seated between a young couple with a toddler and a disgruntled baby, and a table comprised entirely of children. I didn't mind, though. Whenever the mom at the next table pulled another toy out of the diaper bag in an attempt to placate the fussy child, I thought, "Ha ha! Glad that's not me!"

Last year at the F&W Festival, Brian tried the much-loved cheddar cheese soup. He took one bite, stated "This tastes like vomit," and pitched it into a nearby trash can. For some reason, he still wanted to try the real thing. Then he remembered about the bread service and decided to pass on the soup. I think that was a smart move.

lunch5.jpg

Brian really liked the pretzel bread so I let him have both pieces. I love pretzels and I love bread, but I just didn't understand what was so special about it. I ate whatever else was in the basket, which was really good.

While Brian had enjoyed the filet mignon the day before, he decided to go with the larger New York strip.

lunch8.jpg

The vegetarian entree sounded good, but I didn't want to eat a huge meal midday, so I ordered a side of green beans

lunch6.jpg

and a side of cream cheese mashed potatoes.

lunch7.jpg

These potatoes were so good that as I was writing this portion of the trip report, I had to go buy (real) butter and cream cheese and make some for dinner. They were awesome. Brian asked, "Is this going to be the standard recipe from now on?" Um, no. Not unless you want your wife to gain three hundred pounds.

I also had a chocolate martini. After that $10 glass of cranberry juice, Disney owed me a real alcoholic beverage.

lunch9.jpg

Everything was absolutely delicious. Lunch was awesome. I couldn't have been happier.

After lunch, we walked outside and saw Tom and Luke heading towards us. Perfect timing! They'd walked over to Mexico and gotten some tacos for lunch.

We'd skipped dessert in Le Cellier because I'd wanted to get some at the F&W booths, but I just couldn't wait in any of those lines. Tom suggested that we check on Pooh and Tigger again, so we headed back to the UK. They weren't out, but they were coming back soon so we got in line.

uk3.jpg

I am a grown woman, so whenever I meet a character, I realize (spoiler alert) that it is just another grown man or woman inside a costume and I greet them accordingly.

uk4.jpg

...Except for Winnie the Pooh. I just lose my mind around that bear and I act like he's my BFF.

uk5.jpg

uk6.jpg

uk7.jpg

After all that excitement, we caught the bus back to SSR to rest and let Luke roam free for awhile.

We watched The Addams Family on TV while Luke crawled around and played. Brian napped; Luke didn't.

The plan for today had been to spend the afternoon at Animal Kingdom since it was open until 8pm. But when Brian woke up it was around 6. Would it be worth going all the way to Animal Kingdom just for an hour or so?

After a bit of deliberation, we decided it didn't make sense to trek out to Animal Kingdom, especially since we would need to eat dinner soon. Instead, we decided to go to Downtown Disney.

I was pretty annoyed we weren't going to make it to Animal Kingdom, but only because I'd dressed Luke in his dinosaur outfit that morning.

Lesson #5 for Next Time: If you're going to coordinate an outfit with the park you're going to, make sure it's the FIRST park you visit that day.

First world problems, I know.

We left the room and tried to figure out how to get to DTD. We could see the Characters in Flight balloon so at least we knew we were walking in the right direction.

dtd1.jpg

Eventually we found the ferry and didn't have to wait too long for it to arrive.

dtd2.jpg

dtd3.jpg

This was probably Luke's favorite ride of the whole trip.

dtd4.jpg

dtd5.jpg

The ferry dropped us off at Pleasure Island and we walked over to Marketplace. I wanted to get dinner at either Earl of Sandwich (my old favorite) or Wolfgang Puck Express (which we've never tried before).

But first we had to visit the pin trading store. While we were there, I made my first and only pin trade of the trip. I'm trying to spell out my name and one of the CMs had an "X" on her lanyard.

xpin.JPG

I ran and got a pin from Brian and made the trade. Afterwards Brian informed me that the pin I'd gotten didn't exactly match the "H" I already had (it wasn't inside a circle, like in the picture) but he found one for me later in the trip. So, it was my first and only pin trade and it ultimately didn't even count.

I think Brian and Tom were waiting to look at some pin board but then it closed before it was their turn. At some point, Luke fell asleep.

I decided I was in the mood to try something new, so I picked Wolfgang Puck for dinner. We walked over and saw a long line of strollers parked outside. URGH. I was not going to take Luke out of his stroller and wake him up, so we decided to try Earl of Sandwich. The whole way there I was seething, figuring they would have the same stroller policy and that I would be stuck eating a Wetzel Pretzel or something. You know how cranky I get when I'm hungry.

But, hallelujah, we were able to take the stroller inside. Love you, Earl of Sandwich. I had my usual--The All American without turkey and cranberries, which renders it basically a cheese sandwich (but, the best cheese sandwich ever!)

dtd7.jpg

Brian had the Cannonballs! (meatball sub).

dtd8.jpg

Tom had this. Chicken, turkey? I can't remember.

dtd6.jpg

Brian got a pudding for dessert and didn't like it. I got a brownie and I think I made Tom share it with me. My sweet baby slept the whole time. Two peaceful meals in the same day. Amazing!

I saw this ad on our table:

dtd9.jpg

You probably can't read it, but it says, "free sandwich on your birthday." How perfect! Our next trip to Disney will be for my birthday. I signed up as soon as we got home.

After dinner we did some more browsing/shopping. We went to the Christmas store, the toy store, and World of Disney. We got separated in World of Disney so I ended up sitting in a corner with Luke, just people watching. Downtown Disney was packed that night.

dtd13.jpg

One of the traditions I want to start is taking a picture of Luke in the same spot on every trip. I have pictures of me sitting on the Winnie the Pooh bench when I was pregnant with Luke:

dtd14.jpg

And also when Brian and I were dating, way back in 2007:

holly07.jpg

so I decided to get his picture here too.

dtd10.jpg

dtd11.jpg

dtd12.jpg

Ugh, stupid pacifier.

After the photoshoot, we were all ready for bed, so we took the ferry back to SSR and went to sleep.

Summary of Day 2:
Again, we managed to make it on just one ride. But we met seven characters so that was pretty cool. I was disappointed we didn't make it to Animal Kingdom, but we had a nice evening at Downtown Disney instead. I was sad that that the F&W Festival was too crowded to enjoy, but we had two wonderful, peaceful meals!

Sounds like, overall, it was a really nice day!! :thumbsup2 The lunch at Le Cellier sounds good as did dinner. Sorry you didn't make it to AK or to dinner at WPE. I think that's a great idea to take Luke's picture in the same spot each year. I wish I had started that with my son on his first trip.

HI! Sorry I went a little MIA. Glad to see the updates - so nice you had a great lunch! And dinner! Yes strollers are allowed - we found that out but never actually ate at EoS lol. Sounds like a nice day overall! Funny about your fish phobia - we just started a salt water fish tank at home! :lmao:

I think that's a great idea to take Luke's picture in the same spot each year. I wish I had started that with my son on his first trip.

I think it's also really cute when parents force their preteens to reenact pictures from when they were toddlers. :lmao:

Sadly, my family always had fish tanks when I was growing up. And a crayfish that used to crawl out of the tank and across the living room when I was lying there watching television!

We had originally planned to spend this morning at Hollywood Studios. Then, about a week before the trip, we thought we needed more time at the Food and Wine Festival so it turned into another Epcot morning/afternoon. But we unanimously decided the day before that we were NOT dealing with those crazy crowds again. We reverted back to the original plan to get up early and go to DHS so I could finally GET ON SOME RIDES.

Luke woke me up around six to eat, and then he fell back asleep. Since we were getting up early today anyway, there was no point in going back to bed so I decided to walk down to Artist's Palette with my trip journal and get a hot chocolate.

When I left the room, I found this hanging on the doorknob:

DHS01.jpg

A sad reminder that even though we were only halfway through our trip, it was already almost over. :sad1:

After walking across the pitch black deserted resort, I discovered that Artist's Palette wasn't even open yet. No big deal--I just sat in a rocking chair outside and wrote in my trip journal. It was actually a bit chilly that early in the morning, but I hadn't thought to put on my jacket.

As I sat there writing, I witnessed the same phenomenon every five minutes: A bleary-eyed dad carrying three to five refillable mugs in each hand stumbled up to the door, attempted to open it, and groaned when he found it locked. Seriously, every five minutes. It got to be pretty funny after awhile. For me, I mean. I don't think the dads were amused.

Around seven I headed back to the room and got ready. And then I experienced my first-ever vacation-related wardrobe crisis. After all that attempted outfit coordination, I hadn't even packed a shirt for today!

Of course, I technically had plenty of extra shirts. I'd brought a long-sleeved thermal shirt to sleep in, plus three (THREE!) black tank tops, and I had a purple shirt to wear as part of my Halloween costume that night. So I just put on the purple shirt. It really wasn't a big deal.

Except Luke and Brian were both wearing red. And when Tom saw me, he asked why I didn't match. Haha.

Lesson #6 for Next Time: Make sure you actually pack enough clothes.

After we were all dressed, we headed to the bus stop.

I love this picture because Brian looks so happy, and Luke looks like Brian just said something shocking:

DHS02.jpg

We actually managed to get to Hollywood Studios BEFORE rope drop, so we had to wait in line for a few minutes.

DHS03.jpg

DHS04.jpg

Then we were inside the park!

dhs16.jpg

Can you guess which ride we were rushing to first thing in the morning?

We got closer.

DHS05.jpg

And closer.

dhs06.jpg

And then we hung a left.

dhs07.jpg

What?

Oh, you thought I was rushing to Tower of Terror, my favorite ride ever?

Well...it was time for Luke to eat. So I had to be a good mom, grab a baby swap ticket, and sit on a bench and feed him while Brian and Tom partook in the first ride of the day.

dhs08.jpg

I love Aerosmith, so it was really nice sitting there, feeding the baby and listening to the music.

As I sat there, it occurred to me that I didn't HAVE to ride Rock N Roller Coaster right after the guys got off. I could ride Tower of Terror and then go back to RNRC!

When Brian and Tom got back they were a little confused about why I suddenly wanted to sprint over to ToT, but oh well. We got all our stuff and headed over. Tom stayed with Luke while Brian and I got on.

It was basically a walk-on to the pre-show. When we got to the boiler room, I heard a guy in front of us say that the queue straight ahead was much shorter than the queue to your right, so we went straight.

We ended up in the front row, and it was awesome. I love the Tower of Terror so much. As the ride ended, Brian pointed out a ventriloquist dummy to our right that will haunt my dreams for the rest of my life. No pictures. I wouldn't do that to you.

Next, Brian took over baby duty while Tom and I went back to Rock N Roller Coaster. By now the wait time was much longer than it had been earlier that morning, and we had a bit of a wait in the fastpass line. I'd thought the fastpass line skipped the pre-show but apparently it doesn't. Brian had pointed out to Tom, who pointed out to me, that Chris didn't come in and grab the guitar after Joe Perry asked for it. I would have never noticed.

The ride was more fun than I remember, even though the initial takeoff still terrifies me. I screamed. A lot.

I wasn't sure where Brian was, so Tom and I went back to the Tower of Terror so he could take his turn. We were in the back left corner this time so I couldn't show him the scary dummy.

We found Brian in the gift shop and decided to go to Starring Rolls and get some "breakfast."

Tom had a chocolate muffin which he ate before I managed to get my camera out.

Brian had a cherry turnover and a fruit tart.

dhs10.jpg

I went with the Butterfinger cupcake because it looked REALLY GOOD. Sadly, I couldn't even eat half of it and I didn't really like the frosting. Luke had a banana and some of Daddy's fruit.

dhs09.jpg

After breakfast we headed to Star Tours. Brian and Tom went first.

dhs11.jpg

I saw a photopass photographer near the speeder bike, so we stopped for a picture.

dhs12.jpg

We got Brian's picture there on our 2007 trip. We'll have to remember to get Luke and Brian together when we got back next month.

brian07.jpg

Our next Stop was obvious.

dhs13.jpg

Fortunately they weren't busy, so I let Luke out of the stroller to roam for a bit. When the guys came back, I tagged Tom in and went back to Star Tours with Brian. This was the first time I've been on Star Tours since the refurbishment. Brian and Tom got on it so many times last year that they had seen almost all the scenarios. The only one Brian hadn't seen was the Yoda segment. I knew I would be the good luck charm and that Brian would finally see Yoda. We saw the Darth Vader scene, then the podrace, then Yoda, and the scene with Boba Fett.

It was time for Luke to eat AGAIN, so Tom and Brian decided to do some shopping while I went to the baby care center at the front of the park. The DHS center was by far the smallest. I didn't see a nursing room and I was going to just feed him in the main room, but then I noticed an open curtain in the corner so I went over to investigate. It was a tiny private nursing room with a rocking chair. I'm glad I didn't try the other room with the closed curtain--I would have walked in on some poor woman with her tatas hanging out. :wave2:

After he nursed I fed Luke some baby food, then I changed him and realized I had to pee too. Fortunately there was a bathroom next to the changing room, so I gathered Luke up and we went inside. But there was a problem. I could NOT find the toilet. Maybe it was broken and they'd removed it for some reason?

Finally, I noticed it down on the floor by my ankles. It was the smallest toilet I'd ever seen. What was going on here?

I left the bathroom and noticed a sign on the door that said, "SMALL CHILDREN ONLY." Ohhhhh.

After I found a grownup bathroom, we met back up with Brian and Tom at the front of the park. Since we were going to the Halloween party tonight, we headed back to the resort and crossed our fingers that Luke would take an awesome nap.

Starring Rolls was fairly busy that morning. When we exited to the outside seating area, there were no empty tables. So Holly and I walked over to one of the nearby benches to sit. Tom came out a few moments later, walked over to us, said something about "being right back" (I wasn't paying attention) and walked away. About 5 seconds later, I looked over and saw an empty table. I quickly jumped up and ran over before someone else snagged it. Holly followed as quickly as she could.

A few moments later, Tom returned. He looked at the table then proceeded to the bench we where we were previously sitting, picked up his chocolate muffin from the wall behind the bench and returned. :rotfl:

Sorry, Tom. If I HAD been paying attention, I wouldn't have "deserted" (PUN!) your muffin.

Ok so I think you may have just taken away a HUGE part of my trip anxiety. Zoey (my 3 yo) is not a fan of public potties (and yes, we no longer use bathrooms or restrooms anymore but potties) We are trying to help her through her fear before our trip - but you are telling me there is small toilets in the centers??? And i bet there isn't a flushing sound every 2 seconds... I had only used the baby care center once in 2010 to change a diaper - but if this is the case I am very happy! ::yes::

Ok, now that I have had my little happy moment - love the trip so far! It's good you guys got a trip to see how Luke would be and how you guys would be adapting to his schedule in the parks. He is adorable!!! I also love the comment about watching the half asleep dads trying to refill the mugs. :)

I wish I could remember if the other baby care centers had them. I've heard that some of the family/companion bathrooms have kid-sized toilets but I don't know which ones.

I wasn't initially thinking of October as a trial run for December, but it did give me some idea of what to expect. Like the fact that our afternoon break will likely be play time and not nap time. :crazy2:

I forgot about that. :lmao:

Poor Tom. You know he thinks we do this stuff on purpose.

A non room napper? I have one of each and hope DD1 naps or we get night terrors :scared: Here's to hoping Disney just tires the junk out of her!!

And about the toilets, it's a huge help - a good place to start with Zoey and I never even thought of the Baby Centers!

What a fun morning at DHS! Yeah the BCC there is teeeeny. I made the mistake of opening a curtain HAHA. And I nursed Aria in the main (IE TINY) room. Too funny about the kids toilet though! I never saw that.
