You forget
D) If it inconveniences ME in any way, or makes my vacation anything less than perfect, it's wrong (and I mean JUST me, I'm not referring to any other DISer).

This one I'm just not understanding....what do you mean Snowman? Do you mean WE CAN NEVER _(SAY) or (DO)_ NICE THINGS? And what arguements did it diffuse? Bloodshed???? Sounds pretty serious.

LOL - I'm sorry it came across so serious. It was us saying (about ourselves) "And this is why...We Can Never Have Nice Things". Anytime one or more of us started bickering (with each other) about something (sins real & imagined, my g/f is better than your g/f, etc) this is what at least one person in our party would always say. It was a cue to the arguers that they were taking themselves or the situation too seriously and it was time to get over themselves. It was a family joke that we carried on all weekend...probably to the annoyance of some of those around us.

Last week we heard a Dad drop an F bomb on his daughter in Mickey's Judges Tent. It was time to meet Mickey and the little girl was having a hard time getting untangled from the stuff she was carrying. Instead of helping her, Dad says, "Get up here" (with an F bomb in there). The girl didn't even look up, so obviously she's used to it, but a CM said, "That's OK, Princess" and helped her get up there with Mickey. It was definitely not so :sad2: magical for that family or anyone around them.

Not being a fan of Brazilian tour groups either but, they speak Portugese in Brazil not Spanish...

Some pregnant lady gets on a bus holding to screaming toddlers, trying to balance a stroller and has 6 bags over her shoulder and no-one offers her a seat: everyone on the bus has a disability of some sort that cannot been seen by the naked eye

Ooh, ohh, I want to make some excuses, too!

Um... the poor lady's husband left her when she got pregnant the third time, so she has to handle the two screaming toddlers herself.

Um... wait, the poor lady's husband is playing golf today, so she had to handle the two screaming toddlers herself.

Um... kids will be kids. The two toddlers screaming are nobody's fault, Mom just doesn't know her own kids well enough to understand that spendning all day walking around a theme park in 90-degree heat and high humidity will make them (and her) cranky. But, hey, she spent boatloads of money on this trip, so she had to keep them going from attraction to attraction all day to get her money's worth, right? So really, nobody is to blame for them screaming. Besides, it's Disney - if you don't like being cooped up with sceaming toddlers everywhere you go, you shouldn't be here!

Um... mom is tired. She's been dragging these two screaming toddlers from attraction to attraction and shop to shop all day by herself without a break. It's perfectly understandable that she's just tired of handling them and figures it's easier to just let them scream. They're not really bothering anybody, anyway, right?

Um... she just HAD to buy all those 6 bags full of stuff. The kids wanted it. Right NOW mommy! And we wouldn't want the kids to throw a tantrum and start screaming in public because they didn't get what they wanted, right?

Um... she just couldn't rent a car. Driving is too hard when you have two toddlers. I mean, it takes a long time to get them buckled into their carseats. And they're both getting pretty heavy for a pregnant mommy to lift them into the car, too. And driving in another city is too confusing; there are all these signs telling you where to go, it's really hard to make heads or tails of it. Besides, mommy drives an hour a day to get to work, so the 10 minute trips from resort to park every morning would be traumatic reminders of those awful commutes - she deserves to let someone else drive her around for a week.

And since none of her situation is her own fault, and she had absolutely no control over it whatsoever, she deserves the seat on teh bus far more than... oh, I don't know, let's pick somebody at random... THAT guy! Dude, get up and let the pregnant woman sit down! You're rude if you don't!

Um... I'm all out of excuses...

Or it could be that the ones who did not get up just did not have any manners!

I'm not so sure this belongs here, it happened at our resort, POR. While sitting in the hot tub a small boy ran up to his dad holding himself doing the gotta go dance. The dad had the boy come into the hot tub then turned him around and told him to pee! DD and I got out and that was the last time we went into the hot tub!

I wish people would stop making excuses for these people! It ridiculous. Yes some may have excuses but I bet the majority don't.

Its like:

People go swimming in the DECORATIVE fountain: It's their culture, they don't know they are doing wrong

Some pregnant lady gets on a bus holding to screaming toddlers, trying to balance a stroller and has 6 bags over her shoulder and no-one offers her a seat: everyone on the bus has a disability of some sort that cannot been seen by the naked eye

Someone pushes their kids to the front row on a parade route 5 minutes before the parade begins and then they push in to be beside the kids: They didn't do enough research and didn't know they had to be there early to get a good parade spot, its not their fault.

COME ON PEOPLE!! STOP MAKING PATHETIC EXCUSES FOR RANDOM PEOPLE THAT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW!!

:thumbsup2 Agreed. I sometimes wonder if the apologists have no class like those they are defending.

Hey guys!! Interesting posting going on here :lmao: ! Anyway, I'm as you know the one who posted regarding the Brazilians in line at the AK. Please let me clarify something for the sake of misreading what I was trying to say: the lady who ran up my leg with her baby stroller did so as she was trying to cut the line. I, as have most of you guys, have been bumped, tripped, and run over many, many, many times by strollers in the course of my lifetime, and have done the same to others. Sad to say it does happen and 9 times out of 10 it's accidental. And as I said in my original post I'm totally unconcerned because it WAS accidental, HOWEVER, it was done while she was trying to cut the line and THAT is what I find irritating, annoying, aggravating, rude, and ignorant. Please read that last sentence as "don't cut in line, folks". Simple as that, really, and not trying to offend anyone, and yes I do know they speak Portugese in Brazil but she knew what I was saying just the same. Try to keep things light and not find offense where none is intended.

I agree, a public fountain is NOT the place to remove your socks and shoes and soak your feet. If your feet are that hot and that sore.. go back to the hotel... get in your bathing suit.. go in the pool for a while. Simple as that!

Someone may want to notify Chicago of this. :)

Now I would love to see someone like that get run over by a ECV!

We have several fountains in philly and on a hot day lots of people hop in the fountain. Heck on the last day of school its a tradition for the senior girls of one of the private schools to go "swim" in the fountain at logan square. No one gets in trouble, so seeing people cooling off in the fountain isn't a big deal to me.

I can't say I'd do more than put my hands in the cinderella fountain, but boy have I gotten some dirty looks when I've gone to play in the water spout kid play areas as an adult. I want to have fun and get wet/cooled off too.

I don't have kids so I can't say I've taken a baby on the safari, but that ride is tame compared to some of roads out where my DH grew up.

This is the best post I have seen in a long while! :lmao:

What some of you call lack of manners, I call poor planning. Maybe the people that were already sitting had waited for that bus so they could sit? Maybe some of them did have a disability? So now her poor choice should be their emergency. Nope.

She could have waited for a different bus and made sure she and her kiddies had a seat and were safe. She could have grabed a cab. She could have rented a car to begin with. Would it have been nice if a bunch of people had offered her, her kids, and all her bags a seat. Sure. But maybe no one was feeling nice that day. Maybe they were all pooped. Maybe they were all just feeling rude, but imho she was rude to hop on a full bus and expect someone to get up for her and her family.

OMG! I can't believe a parent would say that to their child!! Talk about ignorant. Thank goodness for the kindness of the CM. Who knows how the rest of that childs trip went. Geez! DH and I just can't believe how in the most magical place on earth people can still be total idiots!!

As it was once said during the WDW Traditions course for all new WDW CMS:

"Always remember and never forget that many guests visiting WDW have left their brains at home."

Or as I like to say "Some people just lack that basic understanding or common sense".

You think "survival of the fittest" would have taken care of alot of this stuff but at last, it has failed.
