A few weird things we saw people do on our trip

Yeah, that's only been mentioned about 5 times in this thread. ;)

and the point was more that she was trying to cut not that she was faking not being able to speak english. :)

I think the point was the person pointing out the ignorance of the line cutters was ignorant of the language spoken in Brazil

Back in '05 on our honeymoon, DH and I had settled on the beach at the CR to watch the Electrical Water Pageant. The beach was totally empty! So imagine my surprise and anger, when along comes another couple...just ONE other couple...on the whole freaking beack...and they plop down about 5 feet IN FRONT OF DH AND I!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked that I think I actually got sand in my mouth from it gaping. I actually said loudly "What the H?? Who DOES this???" Then Dh and I got up, loudly huffing and mooved down the beach.

Oh, I HATE HATE HATE this!!! It seems to happen all the time to me. I was at the gym once at a very slow time, and the locker room was virtually empty. I picked a locker (none are assigned, bring your own lock), and in walks this woman. She picked the locker RIGHT under mine!!! I mean, come on; I understand that people have lucky seats for bingo, but is there such a thing as a lucky locker?:confused3

Last year we were on the monorail from MK to GF for lunch. While on the monorail - a man sitting next to me and my family started to dicuss what was inside a large cardboard tube he was holding. Maps of MK and details of the buildings. He did not have a Disney ID tag on him, nor dressed neatly as an employee. Seemed to be an odd character. He was traveling alone.
We were very relieved when he get got off the monorail at the TTC.
The only thing we could think of was 9-11.:scared1:

The only thing I'd think of in that instance was the episode of the Brady Bunch where Mike was presenting designs at a theme park and carried them in a drawing tube all day while the family was enjoying themselves.

The guy you saw was probably an architect or engineer who worked for a subcontractor. Disney doesn't do all of that stuff with their own people; they sub out a lot of it to other companies.

OMG! I thought I was the only one who was reminded of the King's Island episode! :rotfl:

I was talking to a CM the other day at reservations and we got talking about the complaints they sometimes get. she told me she had had a call a few days before that from a woman calling from a park screaming about how hot it was! i couldn't believe it. But the CM said, just imagine how unhappy the woman must have been to call reservations and be on hold for 15 minutes just to complain about God....

HAHA that is classic!!!!!!!!!!!!

This really takes the fire out of those pool hopping arguments, huh?

That is the RUDEST thing i have ever seen. If i had seen that lovely little fountain, I would have wanted to look at it, maybe even take my DD's photo in front of it. THAT behavior, putting feet in it and blocking everyone's view of it, is just trashy. :sad2:

i'm glad i didn't see that myself.

Funny, I didn't think anything of it. I personally wouldn't put my feet in there, mostly because there is probably more chlorine in there than I would want to deal with, but I could see on a hot day wanting to dip your toes in a fountain. And that just happened to be a whole family who did it together. *shrug*

Another example of "to each their own". At least they weren't bathing or peeing in it!!

Actually I think that very well could have been a Imagineer, who would infact not be wearing a name tag when out around park guest because the Imagineers don't adhere to the same dress code as CM. They pretty wear what they want with in reasonable limitations.
DF has the Lunch with an Imagineer last week and commented that he has not seen one Imagineer yet and the Imagineer gave him that response above.

YIKEAS!!! Oooohhhh! I don't like that. Personal opinion!! Don't flame me, but jeez--who does this?I would never in a million years even thought to do something like this. Wonder what their resort rooms looked like!!:rotfl:

Well, just because they put their feet in public fountains doesn't mean that they're slobs.

Some of the clothing they're wearing looks like it might be European styles, so they might be European; I've heard that it's perfectly acceptable in some parts of Europe to soak your feet in public fountains.

If they're Americans, my opinion of them would be somewhat more harsh...

Let me start off by saying that me and my family are not the type to hold spaces in line for people bc we know how frustrating it is when people in front of us do that. Anyway, I was at the Candlelight Processional one time with my mom, her friend and my fiance. It had started pouring very hard and as the show started they opened up some of the handicap seating that was not taken which was covered and we were told we could sit there by a CM that happened to be standing right next to us. I told my mother to go sit down and get dry and I would be right behind her with her things, which I pretty much was, we were only three rows back. My mother sat down and we were practically right behind her when a man and his wife that saw us heading there as well, cut us off and ran past us to go sit down next to my mom. She politely said that her family that was right behind them was joining her at those seats. The man physically pushed my mom's arm away which was resting on the bench in front of her so he and his wife could sit down and yelled at her and said "there is no way you are taking those seats!" :scared1: I could not believe my eyes. And he did not tap her, he gave her a very hard push. I could understand if she had been sitting there a while and had been taking up the bench, but she had just sat down and we were 10 seconds behind her. I was ready to give the man a mouth full, however out of respect for the people around me and the spirit of the show we went back to our original seats and covered back up with our ponchos and I let my mom stay there to keep dry. Well the man had seen the look on my face when he did that and kept looking back at me the whole time. ( I think he was afraid of me:rotfl2: ) I gave him dirty looks through the whole show and was going to give him that mouthful right after the show for pushing my mother. Well, I think he got the hint by the looks I was giving him and he and his wife darted out of the area as soon as the show ended. I was so furious the whole show that I could not even enjoy it! :furious: My mom told me after that she said to him 'people like you don't belong in a nice place like Disney World." Go mom! :thumbsup2

About the engineer on the bus. Not sure why he'd be riding the BUS, but if he was essentially a backstage employee (as an engineer would be) and was on stage (in the public areas) he is probably supposed to take his badge off. That way guests don't confuse him for a park CM and bother asking the engineer for directions or anything. I can't imagine that engineers are responsible for helping guests when they are visiting various sites.

Maybe he was going to lunch at one of the resorts. I'm pretty sure employees are allowed to do so.

(Re: The people in Cinderella's Fountain picture)

I'll bet the only water those people get to enjoy in the summer time is some random open fire hydrant. One would expect to see this behavior on
Sesame Street, not in the Magic Kingdom.

You should have gotten a cast member involved. They might not have been able to do anything about it, but, you never know!

My dear friend spent several years working for Disney in the guest complaint department.

You would not believe what people will call to complain about or what they will demand as compensation!

The most common complaint and demands for reimbursment are for weather. Every day brought in at least one call requesting the cost of their entire vacation back because it rained for 37 minutes one day.

One family entered HS when it opened, walked straight to guest relations and demanded free admission tickets because it rained on them while they were waiting for the gates to open!

Her standard answer: "While we all know that Walt Disney was a wonderful, magical man, even HE can't control the weather. That is up to mother nature and she is not on our payroll."

One one of our trips to MK in 1995 it was a BFF of mine and our two children; my sister and her son (my sister was monorail driver). I was 5 1/2 months pregnant and couldn't ride many rides. My BFF and sister and our two children went on SM while I stood in the August, hot sun near Country Bear Jamboree with my nephew in a stroller and waited for the parade and them. I was there for about 45 minutes, with the stroller, sitting with others around. Then this middle Eastern man tries to push his way to MY spot with HIS stroller and wife in tow. I told him there was no room, and right then my sister, BFF and the two kids' show up and he's forced to move his stroller and wife back. There were words because some how he felt entitled to be able to push his way to where I'd been sitting for almost an hour and I wasn't giving up. I was hot, tired, and pregnant and tired of this A#$hole pushing on me with his damned stroller. When the others showed up he pulled out of the area and walked across the street yelling "My brother will find you!" I still don't know what THAT meant but I didn't see him again and I don't think his brother had found me yet.

I had another encounter with some RUDE teenagers in the dark waiting area for Bugs Life last year. It was very crowded and they were playing 'push each other into people' and just about trampled on my four year old (it was dark and she was standing on her own legs so not very tall). I told them to stop it and grow up! (yep, not one of my prouder moments but you can only take SO much) They also had stepped on my toes a couple times. They pushed even more and it happened again. I was getting HOT:furious: . Then the doors opened and wouldn't you know it, these idiots are in front, stop at the opening of the door and do a HUGE push backwards. We all almost went over like dominoes but I stayed on my feet and pushed forward to not fall. NO CM's in the area but the mother of this group finally gets a clue and yells at ME for pushing. :furious: I was pretty upset and just left the ride. I don't think I'll go on Bugs Life again because it's so dark and I don't want that to happen again.
