A few Washington DC questions!

We went early this summer and had the best time. Took the Metro from Reagan to our hotel-very quick and easy! :D

We ordered tickets online to go up into the Washington monument. That saved us a lot of time and anguish, as the line for that was long and early in the morning (they sell out quick).

We did a LOT of walking but saw and did just about everything. Had a private tour prearranged of the Capital (arranged through our congressman). That was a highlight-it was just us 4. And yes, you can arrange White House tours through them too-just do well in advance. The Spy Museum was worth it, and a favorite of DD's. Took the Metro to Arlington too.

Have a great trip.

Actually, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing closes when we're on code orange. Hopefully, it'll open after the elections...

We stayed at the Hyatt on a Priceline bid. Others in our party flew into Reagan National. When they landed they called the Hyatt on a courtesy phone and a van was sent to pick them up....no charge.

Thanks again to everyone! I was looking into the Tourmobile Washington by Night tour. Has anyone tried this? I thought this might give us a little more touring time during the day if we did the monuments at night. Any thoughts?

Doug and I got lost in Washington DC one time. It took us a long time to find our hotel. No one helped us.

I don't know. The monuments are beautiful at night, I have to admit, but unless you've seen them already, I would prefer to see them in the daytime. There are so many details at every single one of them!
