A Few Virgin Questions

Hi there!

I have a few questions with regards to Virgin that I was wondering whether anyone out there could answer?! :teacher:

1. Boyfriend and I booked our 2005 visit to AKL with included Disney back in July 2004 directly with Virgin, before all the changes with tickets - can anyone tell me what kind of tickets we will receive - can we park hop? I presume they will be valid for our entire stay?

2. We are flying PE with Virgin and on our statement from Virgin it said that if there would be any problems with either of us with stairs to get in touch - We are flying out of Manchester and I was just wondering whether we will be seated upstairs? If anyone knows please can you get in touch!

3. Finally, can anyone advise which seats to "pre-book" in PE (if we can sit upstairs we would like to!)

Hi Looby loo,

We too booked last year for this year and noticed a change in the tickets. We had booked the 10day world pass (which expired after 20 days). I phoned virgin and they changed them to a 14 day pass which I believe has the same benefits and the price dropped from £251. per adult to £180 per adult. Worth a phone call to see if they will change yours.
Can't help with the other questions.

Hi looby Loo I used this site www.seatguru.com/ when I was trying to choose my seats. You tell it which company you're flying with - and from which airport and it brings up a map with all of the seats on and colour codes them so you can see which seats are good and which aren't. Then logon to virgin atlantic's site select manage your flight and then select the seats you want- if they're available of course!

:cheer2:

Hi

If you booked directly with Virgin, you should be able to use your booking confirmation number to pre-reserve your seats on their website (www.virgin-atlantic.co.uk). Click on "manage your flights".

I don't know about MAN flights, so can't help with recommended seats...I wasn't aware that the planes from MAN has PE upstairs...maybe they have upgraded the planes by now :)

The Manchester planes will change sometime in May when PE will move upstairs

Think they may be the Gatwick 747-400's unless that has changed

Do you mean the planes used at Gatwick are going to Manchester ?

If so what is going to be used out of Gatwick ?

Thanks

I've got a feeling there will be new planes. It's only a feeling based on something I think I've read!

I have read that a couple of the Heathrow planes are being re-configged to the Gatwick set up then Gatwick and Manchester will have a sort of pool of 5 or so planes (They may swap on th rtn flights etc) that will operate the routes to MCO (Orlando International), these are to replace the 747-200's that will either go to the desert or be used by their owners Air Atlanta for other things (Virgin WET lease these planes only) There wont be any new 747's bought, Virgin have purchased a fair few Airbus craft :
Virgin Atlantic have 10 A340-600's on order, planned delivery dates are :

1 June 2005
3 October 2005
6 "by" end of 2006

I think that these will go to LHR to operate routes from there, this will free up the 747-400's going to Gatwick and Manchester.

From the date you are travelling you should be upstairs in PE.

In my opinion the back seats of PE are the best, you have no-one at the side of you, you are first off the plane allowing you to get to immigration earlier and most of all you do not have to worry about reclining your seat!

Thanks for all your advise! :love2:

I have checked the "Manage your fight" section and managed to book our seats which are upstairs according to the website. :cheer2:

Thanks Rain for your advice on seats - I have booked the seats right at the back so that there is no problems about reclining our seats. I also like the idea of being first off the plane!!! :cloud9:

The quicker that I can get to WDW the better!! :earboy2:
