We are looking into possibly renting points for the first time for a trip in September but I noticed on the Disney website that you can book right through them (I always thought you had to rent or own to get into the villas). Anyway, when Disney offers room discounts do they ever apply to the villas? (I am looking at either BLT or BCV)
Also, do one bedroom villas have one bathroom or two?

I saw in some of the floor plans that there is a "sleeper chair". Is this comfortable? It wouldn't be for a child but a 20 something female.

Thanks for the help!!

BLT 1br villas have 2 full bathrooms. BCV only have 1. (Only BLT and AKV Kidani have 2 baths in 1br and 3 baths in 2br.) The kitchen layout in BLT is far nicer than BCV also...in my opinion...and the size of the villa overall is larger as well. Plus you can sleep that extra person...nice. (I'm a BLT owner but I do like BCV and will be staying there again in August.)

I haven't slept in a sleeper chair, but my son has several times and always says it's comfortable (I specifically ask). He's just 10, though.

Yes, some discounts apply to villas.

Disney owns a small percentage of "shares/points/rooms" at the resorts. They can make the their "rooms" available through standard reservations.

Make sure you do your homework though....most times renting points turns out to be much less expensive then a discounted villa. But, if Disney decides to through in a free meal plan, that would be a win for you.

Renting points is generally far less expensive. I don't think the "free" dining plan is a good deal, especially since you'd have to pay rack rate for the room...very expensive proposition for a villa. It would probably be cheaper to rent and then add the dining plan on at its regular cost. (or just pay for your meals)

Yes you can make your own cash reservation at any of the villas, and yes, they are usually offered with discounts. I got a BCV with the 40% off AP discount for March. Check availability first - your 1st chioces might be hard to get. BLT often sells out quickly, and BCV are sometimes difficult to get because there are so few of them (and if you're going during F&WF, BCV & BWV will be very hard to get).

I've stayed at both BLT and Kidani that have the sleeper chair (and the extra bathroom - those are the only 2 that have the extra bathroom!) I slept on the sleeper chair for 2 trips - it was ok but I really wouldn't want to do it again, or for more than 3-4 nights. Keep in mind I'm only 4'11", and if I were any taller I would have been squished! When unfolded it's smaller than a twin mattress. If I have a picture I'll post it...going to look...

Here is a pic from a Kidani 1BR of the sleeper chair. That's as wide as it gets - between the 2 arms. Still looking if I have a pic of it opened up.

Found it! Here's how it looks opened up for the night, as well as what the room looks ilke with both the sleeper chair and the sofa bed opened up.

The 1BR BCV have a split bathroom. The toilet and shower are together in one room and the bath tub is in the master bedroom. There is a privacy shutters that close the view of the bath tub from the bed in the master bedroom, but you will need to close the master bedroom door to prevent people in the main/kitchen from seeing the bath tub.

One other thing to note, is that if you rent DVC points, you will not get daily housekeeping (i.e., new towels, beds made, soap & shampoos replace, etc.).

Also know if you rent, it is very much like Priceline, a great deal but money up front and no cancellations.

BLT has the sleeper chair, BCV does not.
