Hi folks,
This is my first time giving reviews so I hope I give the right amount of info. We usually had one sitdown meal each day, although I may not remember all of them. There were 4 of us Myself, DH, DD(10) and DS (8).
7/19 - Lunch at Chefs de France (the downstairs rest. in France at Epcot). We have a lovely lunch here. We were seated near the large windows overlooking the fountain. I have the lunch special of french onion soup, grilled ham and cheese and creme brulee. The soup was fine, but a bit salty; I ate half and gave the other half to my husband. The sandwich was great, very rich and satisfying. DH and DD kept asking for bites. The sandwich came with a nice salad. I gave my daughter the creme brulee, as it is a favorite of hers, but had some. It was very good, but huge and we couldn't finish it. DH and DD each had the quiche and salad, which they both enjoy. DS was on the kids menu and ordered the spagetti and chicken strips. The strips were much better than what you get at the other restaurants; they seemed more like strips of chicken that were breaded and not just the frozen kind.
7/20 California Grill. This was supposed to be the big family dinner, but DS ended up getting sick. DH took him to the local medical center, but DD was set on getting sushi at CG, so tonight turned into a Mommy Daughter Dinner Date. Oh my is Cali Grill lovely. There is something so fun about going to the "special elevator" because you have the reservation. We sat in the lounge for only a couple of minutes, and our table was ready. We had a table looking out towards EPCOT and if we had stayed we could have watched Illuminations (DD couldn't wait for that and wanted to get to MK). Our waiter was great and gave DD loads of attention. We each had the lobster bisque for an appitzer and I don't think we will get it again. DD cleaned her bowl, but I thought it was too fishy tasting. I wish we had gotten the flatbreads that everyone raves about. I had the filet and it was specatular! I've never had beef that I would describe as tasting rich, but that's the best way to describe. The green beans and mashed potatoes were great, but I couldn't finish it there was too much. DD has the deluxe sushi platter and loved it; I'm surprised she didn't asked for seconds. I had the the chocolate dessert, can;t remember the name, but it had 3 different chocolate items. I would not share with my daughter! Yeah, I know I said I was stuffed, but it's chocolate. DD had the pineapple dessert and really liked it. This will be a definite stopped nest visit. We had 7:30 ressies and finished at about 8:55. We could have gone back to view the MK fireworks, but opted not to. Oh, DS was feeling much better and he and DH met us at the park in time to watch the fireworks.
7/21 Parents night out - DH and I spent the evening at PI. We ate at Raglan Road. Service was adequate, nothing outstanding. I was so happy to get some Strongbow Cider. Each table receives irish soda bread and dipping oil laced with Guinness and sugar - yummy. We shared an appetizer, short ribs bbq'ed with Guinness - outstanding I could have had a dinner of these. I had the chicken pie which was very good and we shared a chocolate dessert, can't remember the name, but very rich and tasty. We would eat here again, if just for the ribs!
7/22 Primetime Cafe - we hadn't made a ressies for today, I just couldn't decide anything. But we were at DHS and were quite hungry by 2:30 and were able to pretty much walk into Primetime (just before a downpour, what luck). Sorry, but I can't remember too much about it, the food was fine, but nothing outstanding. I just thought it was interesting that we had no trouble getting a last minute table.
7/23 Tony's at MK. I will not eat here again. The food was so, so. Our waiter was okay. But was I ticked off by the time we got to the table. It is so loud and we were there during a thunder storm with a billion people trying to stay dry (well maybe that's an exageration), but we did not hear our name called. DH checked at the desk about 25 minutes after our ressie time. They had called us but we didn't hear. We had to wait for another available table. DD and I had Chicken Parm, which was ok, but I make better. DS had spagetti which he liked. Can't remember what DH had, but nothing great.
7/24 Turf Club At SSR. Again will not eat here again. We were able to get right in at about 8:30 after seeing Cirque. The waiter seemed distracted, never brought us bread. I had the BBQ ribs - nasty - seemed like they just poured a jar of bbq sauce over the ribs before sending them out. DS and DD had burgers and no fries with sons burger, just burger on an oversized plate. I think DH had steak.
7/25 Boma - Another disappointment. My sister and I ate here about 3 years ago and I always raved about it, but it just didn't seem as good as I remembered. We actually didn't eat that much. The kids didn't even like the mac and cheese.
7/26 LeCellier - great lunch. We have never had a bad meal here. I was actually surprised that we got ressies, as I called less than a month before travel. I had the filet w/ mushroom risotto - great. DS had the child's steak, which would have been large enough for.DH had the steak as did DD. We split a cheesecake 3 ways and had trouble finishing it we were so full.
7/27 Plaza. Nice sandwiches. Can't go wrong here with the sandwiches. DD got a Banana Split for dessert. Huge - just Huge.
I haven't written anything about CS, usually nothing outstanding. But I most point our the CS at SSR. Very good, lovely flatbreads. Service is slow, but again, nice food. I would eat at the CS again instead of the Turf Club.
Hope this info help those trying to decide where to eat.
