HI All-
We will be at Mk on 2/22 and I have a few questions I was hoping someone could clarify--

1. Anyone been to to Tom Sawyer Island recently? I saw a post not too long ago that some of the bridges were closed and the restaurant is closed (and likely staying that way)...any updates? We've never done it and my son really wants to go. Was thinking of having lunch out there- any tips? Is it best to just pack our own lunches and do a little picnic? Or is there a reasonable way to pick up some quick service and take with us?

2. Beacon of Magic at the castle...Is there a set time for the "show" to start? And does it repeat every 15 minutes on the dot or does it vary?

3. The Cavalcades- if I read it right, it looks like the parade starts in Frontierland and goes down main street...Could someone tell me how long it generally takes for them to travel the route? Ie, if the Cavalcade is listed as starting at 10:35- I assume that is the time we would see it pass through Frontierland? What time would I expect it to arrive in the hub?

Greatly appreciate any info or tips that you can share on the above experiences. Thank you!

1. We've picked up from Pecos Bills in the past and taken it to the island with us. Ate in the gazebo area. Not sure if this is still an eating area option as this was a few years ago.

Other than the porch of the restaurant, I don't think you'll find much in the way of a place to have a picnic. Its sort of trails and bridges to walk across, the fort and caves. But no grassy areas or wide spaces that I can think of. It's a great place to explore and let kids run around...We go there every trip but dont eat there.

We were just at Tom Sawyer Island last week. The big bridge to the fort was open but the barrel bridge was closed. The little restaurant wasn’t open. You definitely could take a picnic lunch. There were some tables near one of the playgrounds. I can’t remember what the name of it was. It had a tunnel and a bell you could ring

3. I passed by a couple of the cavalcades last week. I wasn;t interested and definitly didn;t time them. But I would estimate they took no more than ten minutes (probably a shade less) to pass through Frontierland

I missed your question about the canvacades. We tried waiting in the hub for the 10:35 Mickey calvacade but it took longer than we thought and we have a toddler so we couldn’t stay in one spot for too long lol. It was at least 11 before it started coming into the hub area. I’m wondering if maybe it started late

We were watching cavalcades from the end of Main Street this morning on a bench near the flag pole garden area. This is right where they end. The 11:25am Adventurers cavalcade made it to us at about 11:40am, so just about 15 minutes after it would have started (assuming it started on time).
