A few races and food, some theme parks and food, and a cruise...

Molly,

Here is a better photo of the house. More than the garage.

Even more exciting!

I take it that poor car was in the old garage? :( Poor car. Noble steed (that's what we called our Pinto, and that vaguely looks Mustang-ish? so it came to mind).

Poor E had a nosebleed from heck in his sleep last night! And didn't wake during it. Robert got home yesterday and was up early this morning. E heard him and walked out quietly to greet him. For some reason started saying "fee fie fo fum", not even knowing his white sleep shirt was covered in blood! Thankfully Robert assumed E had woken and gotten into the chocolate truffle stash, because thinking "omg covered in blood" is a far scarier initial thought!

Shirt, pillow, sheets, mattress even. SCARY!

Seems he had gotten turned around in his sleep and had his face right in front of the fan, so that seems the likeliest reason of all for the nose bleed. Glad that fan was on or I would be jumping to much worse initial assumptions!

Oh my! I think it is a good thing that E got up and was seen walking around. I cannot imagine the sight it would be if one of you went in and he was asleep.

The car was my 1965 Mustang, it had been my dad's and he left it to Scotty and I. I learned to drive in that car. It was really tragic to me.

Oh Michele I hadn't even thought of that. We just had our YMCA time, and he got halfway through Aikido and had to sit out b/c of his stomach hurting. I'll tell you, do NOT google "nose bleed stomach pain" if you want to sleep. :scared: We got home, I gave him one of the vitamins I take every so often with iron in it and some coconut water, along with his dinner, and not 5 minutes post coconut water he was fabulous. Even his voice sounds better.

That IS tragic about the car. Robert got a look of pain on his face and said it's heartbreaking. Not sure if the empathy helps, but it sure is abundant from our house...lots of empathy over the car...and the rest of it of course! but the car really brings it home somehow.

Still trudging alone, training for the whole reason for us to go in October. Today was the 8 mile run. :faint::crazy2: I ended up with two breaks; bathroom and then E needed to get something from the car. It made a long long run take even longer. I started to feel like I should pay rent on the treadmill.

Molly,

You are going to town on the running aren't you? I need to replace Scotty's running shoes so he can start running again.

I appreciate the empathy, every time I see the car I want to cry. Then you get the unfeeling person that calls you and asks what I am going to do with it. It really ticks me off.

I have to beat the sweepers in the race! There will be no not-finishing. So I have to get the training in. :)

I figure that fencing belongs to the construction people and you probably have a homeowners association that would disapprove, but I would be seriously tempted to put cutesie Disney-style "pardon our construction" signs all over it. :)

I am really proud of you with your running. I think that you are pretty amazing.

No neighborhood association and it is our contractors fence but he is a huge Disney fan. I bet he would let me do it. Now to just get my hands on the signs.......

Aw, thanks. :)

Hey, that's nice that the contractor is a Disney fan! This could be a fun little project for you while you're busy with the big project of the new house.

Our contractor is amazing. I don't know if you ever watch HGTV but his company has been featured on Curb Appeal twice. That was a huge thing for me. That and the fact that he and I bonded over our love of Disney.

Now THAT is cool.

I have a Disneyland question or four. for you. You've stayed in a suite at the PPH right? Was it a one bedroom or a two bedroom? We reserved a two bedroom and although I know it sleeps 8 and has 3 bathrooms I know nothing else. Also did you use the concierge? If you did was it worth it?

We got upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite once and did NOT have access to concierge, and we got upgraded to pretty much the same room another time when we had booked concierge.

There were only 2 bathrooms, so you definitely have the 2 bedroom. EXCITING!!!!!!!

I liked concierge. They have a nice espresso machine that basically makes cappucinos (they use pods, it's fairly simple). I love having the option for nice fresh fruit in the morning without having to pay something like $7 for it, so for me that fruit is a big perk. :) Others enjoy the muffins and other things they have.

Of course, concierge is what you make of it. You can get the most for your buck by staying near the hotel pretty much all day. Get there for all the food times (breakfast, lunch-ish snack, beer/wine time, dinnertime, desserttime), take some time to watch the movies you can check out (the suites and concierge rooms have DVD players), etc. Of course that's hard to do with those great parks right there! :)

With the number of people in your family, and I'm fairly certain you guys are omnivores with no food allergies, concierge would almost certainly be worth it even if you aren't always in the lounge. The ability to take Uncrustables and waters and coffee and all the other stuff they have, with no restrictions, would be absolutely beneficial. Our restrictions and teensy family-size, it's hard to get to that "absolute" point of benefits. :)

Thank you for replying so quickly.:goodvibes I figure with the teenage/young adults we have and their appetites I will almost make money. The waters alone I figured were huge. Also going the week we are going January 6 thru the 10th the park hours are shorter so I think we will be able to take advantage of the movies. Plus my mom will spend a lot of time at the hotel. Knowing that she has the concierge lounge to "hang out" in is a good thing. We have never stayed in the PPH before. We have always been a DLH family and I want to try someplace new. Truth be told though I have stayed there but it was when I was in my early 20's and it wasn't owned by Disney yet. They had a nice bar in the lobby. Oh the things a person remembers. :rotfl:

LOL, you probably WILL be making money off it! :goodvibes If you've kept receipts from past trips, compare it to the food receipts for this trip. It might very well prove to be an excellent financial decision.

And that would be wonderful for your mom. They have a TV in there, too, and the concierge people are really nice.

I'm so so so so excited for you that you have a trip to plan! YAY!!!!!

ETA, hello Ms Insensitive (that's me). You probably don't have receipts even if you kept them. I'm so sorry, what an idiot I am.

Molly, It's okay. Chances are I had the receipts because I keep everyone from our trips. :goodvibes

Thanks for not hating me for being stupid.

I just saw the words inside your purple ticker. Love it. And yep, it had better happen!!!!!

Molly, I have had far worse said and dealt with far worse. Thank you for your concern.

I couldn't stop myself on the ticker.

OH yikes. 50 days out from the run. Whimper.

And they just sent out an email from rundisney about it. too close, way too close!

Making it worse, of course, is that I have to get new shoes. I have to start from the ground up with shoes because what I have isn't working for me. I might have to go the orthotics route, even, which is hard for me because I don't really "believe" in them. (in my heart of hearts I would run totally barefooted, like I did as a child, but that's not going to happen in my reality) I mean, I know they have helped Robert and many others, I guess I just don't want to admit defeat or something, that my feet on their own aren't good enough?

So here I am, at this crossroads of new shoes, etc, with only 50 days to break everything in. ay carumba.

Just to chime in.. You can totally do this! AND a shoe suggestion... addidas boost. I LOVE mine and I typically have run in minimalist shoes. The rep will be at the next Kent adventure run... and you can test run the shoes during the event.
