Hi everyone, I'm normally lurking on the WDW sites - but we are expecting twins and so have changed our annual WDW trip in December to a short break at DLRP - flying restrictions and all that!

Can you help me with a few questions please it's 3 years since we went to DLRP.

1. Is it no smoking in the park now?

2. As we are going in December do you think I need to make some dinner reservations, we haven't in the past but then we've always been in March or November. We want to eat at, Walts, Blue Lagoon and Rainforest.

3. If I book character breakfast now, will they send me a voucher, as on our last trip we book via phone while we were there for Walts and they refused us entry though the main gate as we didn't have a voucher - I had to argue for 30 mins and make them call Walts - before they let us in. Don't want that to happen again, it spoilt the day.

THANK YOU :thumbsup2

Hi,

Its not no-smoking at DLRP - French law still allows smoking in public places.

You can't make reservations for Rainforest Cafe, but you can for Walts and the Blue Lagoon.

The character breakfast isn't at Walts in the Park, its at Cafe Mickey in the Village. Therefore you don't need a voucher, as you can stroll around the Village any time of the day or night, without park tickets.

Perhaps the most pleasing thing on my trip last month was the sheer volume of signs on every building, queue line, attraction, area saying that smoking was prohibited. I actually thought it was better than previously.

Like most of these things, we'll look back in 20 years and wonder how on earth people were ever allowed to smoke in restaraunts and public areas.

Hi Howarths

Looking at your wish list for dining, you might want to check on the reviews for the Blue Lagoon before booking a table. Thay have not been good for some time and the latest reports still comment on slow service and poor food :sad2: . If you want a table service restaurant rather than a buffet meal and in the Park, I can highly recommend the Silver Spur Steakhouse :thumbsup2 and I would recommend booking.

All DLRP restaurants are non smoking. And the CM on the phone even told me that it is not allowed to smoke in the hotel rooms anymore!
Because she asked us if we want to have a non smoking room or a room were it was previously allowed to smoke until they have forbidden it some time ago. (Can anyone confirm this?)

DLRP is getting more and more non-smoking friendly.

And by the way: We visit the Blue Lagoon during every visit (last time in June) and the food and the service were always great. And as the atmosphere is so great I would not mind if the service would be a little bit more slow. :lmao:
