I am doing a school project about castaway cay and would appreciate some info about labor on the island---specifically about the number of natives who are employed by Disney. I know that afew Abacos natives work in te post office and gift shop, but who works in all of the restaurants/bars and runs the activities? Any info relating to labor at castaway cay would be great! Thanks.

Almost everything is staffed by the CMs from the cruise ship. Most of the ship employees move ashore.

There are a few DCL CMs who live on the island but most of the restaurant folks, activities folks, Oceaneer's club, bartenders are CMs who leave the ship for the day and work the activities on the island instead of on the ship.

One example is that the Oceaneer's Club and Lab have a special area Scuttle's Cove on the island. The Club/Lab is closed on the ship on CC day. Kids must leave and return to the ship with their parents but can be checked in at Scuttles while on the island.

I believe some of the boat drivers, hair braiders, shop workers and the post office come over from Abaco.
