A few more questions regarding point transfers

Thank-you so much in advance for your help...

Here is the story. DS, 19, and his friends have talked about going to WDW together since 4th grade. They are finally in a position to do this and asked me to chaperone them. I agreed and set out a budget for them.

The 2 resorts I am looking at are VWL (would be 150 points) and OKW (would be 110 points). I think a transfer is easier as I have some points that I can use for this reservation. I am thinking I need a transfer of 131 points. If I can only rent at OKW, due to availability, I would add another night on and use the extra points. I do have small contracts at both with a few extra points on both. I will need to do this soon as I am looking at mid December.

My questions/comments:

1. Is a transfer better than just renting points because I then have the flexibility to add someone in? (One friend is unsure if he will be able to go or not)

2. Are there benefits of renting vs transferring points in?

3. I do NOT want to drive someone crazy asking them to add someone in or take them off, I am dealing with teenagers.

4. DH & I will use the ressie regardless of whether or not they all go or some of them cancel.

5. I am sorry to be so dumb about this. I really want to make an informed choice, not drive someone up a wall, and get a reservation soon.

6. Is there anything else you can think of that I have not asked?

anytime you can have a transfer instead of renting you are always better off.
For all of the reasons that you just stated. Once you pay then the transfer from someone can be within minutes and then the points are yours to do with what you want.
