So no qs, bummer. Ok, I'm over it, lol. Question though about the mugs. I know you can fill up at the pool bar, how far away is it? Is it even worth it to get the mugs? Would it be easier to just order some drinks from gardengrocer.com?

Community hall? Do they have a Wii or other systems? Might be a nice place for DH and my cousin to go hang out while I put DD down for an afternoon nap.

I was just reading another thread and it mentioned a fitness center at SS. Does AKV have one? I'm running the Princess Half Marathon in March and the Thursday before it I have a 2 mile run. While it's not long, I'd prefer to not have to run outside, possibly getting lost. Can I use a fitness center at another DVC resort?

Any other tips/things to check out?

We meant to check out the Kidani pool area when we stayed at Jambo in Nov, but never made it over. I'm really excited about our upcoming stay!

I believe the refill station is in the gift shop, which is just off the lobby. AKV does have a fitness center it's a separate building down by the pool. We did not check out the community hall when were there so I can't tell you if they have a Wii.

It's a great resort.

;) Yes there are game systems and lots of other stuff including making buttons for friends in the CH. The PP is right the closest drink station is a Johari Treasures and the fitness center is in a very nice room by the pool which is out the front lobby door to the right. It is a great place and you will have a wonderful time.

If memory serves from our October Kidani trip the Community Hall has 1 Wii system hooked to the main TV, 3 PS2 systems hooked to small TVs/monitors (like 19" models), a small pool table, foosball/table soccer and a couple tables for cards, coloring, etc.

Plus directly across the hall is the arcade. Not free like the Community Hall but a nice selection of time killers nonetheless.

Thanks everyone for your quick responses! I was a little bummed when there was no 1 bedroom availability at Jambo and we had to switch to Kidani due to the lack of a cs. I'm really looking forward to it now. I don't think we'll miss it. We only ever go a couple of snacks and filled up our mugs there before. Always fun to try new resorts!

The fitness center at Kidani looked pretty good but the changing rooms there are somewhat lacking. For one thing, there are no lockers and there is only one shower. If you prefer to change into/out of your workout clothes in the fitness center, you might want to use the one at Jambo House which does have showers and lockers.

The fitness room at KV is really nice - the treadmills were way nicer than the ones I use at 24hr, and the rest of the equipment was great. Plus, there were walls of windows so I didn't feel closed-in while I was running!

There are showers in the bathroom - I didn't use them, but DH swears they had them. I do remember the bathrooms right by the fitness rooms being beautiful!

KV is such a nice place to stay, and I doubt you will mind the walk to Mara, if you are a marathon runner! ;)

There is a refill station at BOTH the pool bar and in the Johari Treasures shop in the lobby.

Community Hall has BOTH Wii and PS2 or 3 systems.

The pool bar is open from 11 until around 8 or 9 and does have a small selection of menu items as well, mostly pre-packaged salads and some sandwich type things. I took lots of photos of the pool area earlier this week -but didn't get one of the menu.

The fitness center is part of the pool complex, and is quite nice. Lots of treadmills and other equipment. There is a pic or two in my Live "Triple Whammy" thread if you are interested, I believe on page 8 or 9.

We stayed at Kidani in Nov and loved it! In fact, I can't see us staying anywhere else now.

I would only get refillable mugs if your room is close to the lobby. Our room was at the end of the building and the walk to the lobby took at least 5 mins at a good pace.

We own at Kidani and the last trip there I had breakfast almost every day at the cs and it was only about a 5 min walk. The slide at the pool is the longest slide of all the Disney resorts and is really cool. the water play area is also really fun. If you are a DVC member you can also check out DVD's for free at the treasure shop. There are DVD players in all the rooms at Kidani.
you will have a great trip and don't forget the animals.
:cool1:
