Hi all,
I had to post this,this is so funny,maybe not to you,but at the fire house we were hysterical all night over this one.We have a "new kid" just started last week after graduation of the Famous FDNY academy.So everyone in the fire house is in on this one,but him.Actually he's a really good kid,so it was time to pull a little welcomming prank on him.So at around 7 pm yesterday the phone rings in the office and its the chief who is upstairs in his office.He says to send the the "new guy" up to his office to talk with him,now like i said everyone inculding the chief is in on it.So the new kid is a little nervous and asked why does he want to talk to me and i say could not tell you,but go up stairs and talk to him.We wait 5 minutes at this point the chief is asking him questions like were do you see yourself in this dept in 10 years and etc.At which point we quietly sneak the rig out of the fire house and one of the guys that stays in house presses the alarm,meant to be pressed when we get a job or run.The new kid comes running into the downstars office to get the run ticket(The location and type of job is spit out by the computer,we pick up on the way to the rig)As he enters,the guy that stays in house,screams at him"what the heck you doing here,your whole crew just left to go on this big job thats confirmied"?At which point the new kid,runs out the door to see the rig a block away leaving him and he figures that since he his new we just forgot about him.You know he chased us 3 blocks before giving up.
At which point we see him give up,make a quick left and beat him back to the fire house.When he returns,he finds us relaxing and watching t.v and we pretent it never happen and start asking him,did you have any thing to drink tonight or maybe you been hitting grandamas cough syrup a little too much?He gets it that we pulled fast one on him,but is happy because they teach you in the academy the ones we mess with the most are well liked.Its all in good fun and "No rookies were harmed in the making of this prank"He's realized hes become part of the crew cause we mess with each other all the time and pull pranks on each other all the time.One of the pranks i used to pull all the time is to replace the regular nyc maps with Disney park maps.
