A Dream Come True - 2/6/11 4-day Bahama Cruise

Good for you! *jealous* Good luck finding some cute clothes. I'm having a terrible time finding spring/summer clothes in stores right now. It's -1 F here this morning!!!!!!
Finding summer clothes in New Jersey this winter just didn't happen. I did find a pair of jeans, though, and a few nice sweaters/sweatshirts. I'm sure that my lack of lightweight clothing will probably guarantee VERY nice, warm temperatures for our cruise. Last year, I had a whole suitcase full of lovely warm-weather clothes and the weather on the cruise was cold and damp the whole time!:headache:

Mike: I love the video!

Welcome aboard!!!

Beth - Sorry you didn't find many clothes. I never did get out shopping this weekend. Just puts more on my to-do list for next weekend. I should be getting a $50 gift card to Target this week from work which will help put me in the shopping mood.

So

are we doing a meet up?

How will I know wally is wally?

Then again I doubt I'll be leaving the bars unless to go the adult areas.

We SHOULD do a meet up. So let's make it happen! First night? Second night? Pick a bar?

The buffet is "assigned seating" and that caused some confusion the first day. There are four entrances to the buffet, two via Deck 11 where the soda and coffee stations are, and midway through the dining room two via the elevators. Just go to the desk and tell them how many in your party, and if you would like to sit inside or outside, they will take you to your table. Then make sure to explore all of the food options, as there are many. It is no longer one long buffet, but now is stations of hot or cold food. There are also drink stations with soda, coffee, and juice throughout the buffet seating area.

I can see how this would be confusing but it sounds like an AWESOME solution on a big ship with lots of people!!

Thanks for the excellent review/info dump for us!

That's okay by me!

(Have you checked thrift shops? It might just have what you need and the price will be reasonable enough that you won't feel guilt if you dump them all for souvenirs!)

So. Next week. Now, from here, it's 11 days... but we fly down next Friday. Which is technically NEXT WEEK.

Today, we're above 0 with the windchill for the first time in a bunch of days... so it's snowing. Yep. Vacation NEXT WEEK.

I've made a pile of swim suits and shorts for us, so far, but that's it. And I found our travel alarm clock, only it seems we don't need it. Isn't that how it always works? Oh, and I found a baseball cap to keep the sun off my face. And we bought baby shower gifts for our friends who are going to visit us next Saturday... everything else is incidental, right? ;)

Well the first night is the Super Bowl so I'm going to assume the bars might be packed to the brim! Then again I'll be in one of them to watch the game with my husband after dinner.

How about the 2nd night at Skyline around 10:30pm or so?

Works for me!! I'll let the others in my group know!

Skyline, second night, around 10:30 sounds good--if we can stay up that late:rotfl2:! I'm an early riser and tend to be an early sleeper. Jim will probably be there. His idea of bedtime is about the same as my idea of time to get up!

Thank you for adding us to the list! DH is Jon. :yay:

After reading through the last 10 pages or so, I'm glad to live in FL :beach: and still complain about the frigid weather we have here (anything less than 60). Although the snow would be nice.

I have a feeling I won't be sleeping a 'usual schedule' on this cruise. I'm usually in bed by 11pm and up at 5am. But I think I may stay up for the nightlife and spend some of the afternoon lazing in the sun napping. I also want to wake up early early in the morning so I get can get some good shots with my dSLR of the sunrise or the decks empty. Oh well caffine will make sure I have my pep! Yeah trying to think of a good meet up time is hard since some of us are early dining and some of us are late.

I used to think I would love snow. Then I lived in New England for a wihle and I don't miss it. Where I live now is perfect as we only get it like once a year.

Naps! It's vacation!

If our sea day wasn't the last day, that would have been a better time to meet up, but what can you do?

Hi,
My mom-in-law added me, Im Bernadette. I tried with the names but some were hard like "Sammie", and "Teya", I might sound stupid but ya' never know... :)
I noticed that "F" and "M" were added though, thanks.

Hi! I was just looking over the FE list and I don't think I have your info if you wanted to join the gift exchange. If you are wanting to participate can you look at the list and tell me if you are on it? If not, please list your info so I can get you added to the list. Thanks!

Thanks!

LOL, you had a good point, better safe then sorry. :goodvibes

Dis_Yoda, seems like you are getting the better end of the deal... just enough snow.

Just a question... is there going to be a room we can check to see if any rooms changed from Magical Upgrades or GTY rooms. :surfweb:

 Does anyone want to do a meet at the sail away party too? (Previously we met on one side on a specific deck... everyone wore a "green mickey head" (taken from a home depot paint chips) on their lanyard. Just an idea...

Welcome Melody!!!

I have a feeling I won't be sleeping a 'usual schedule' on this cruise.
I really do try to stay up late when I'm on vacation, but my body is so used to my regular schedule that by the time I get onto a vacation schedule I'm already back at work! I've been on this schedule for almost 18 years, so it's just how I am!

As for a meet on boarding day--Jim and I are easy to find. If you've looked at any of our pictures in the link below, we haven't changed a whole lot! I almost always have a Mickey head somewhere visible, and I always have my digital camera with me. It's lime green (just a coincidence, but it's a souvenir of my Dec. 2010 cruise), and it has a lime green strap (a souvenir from my Dec. 2007 cruise on Magic). Don't hesitate to stop and say hello. Jim is used to strangers coming up to him, greeting him by name, and saying that they've been "chatting" with his wife for ages. At first he thought it was very strange, but he's gotten over that!

Beth

Welcome Melody!!!

Thank you.

Beth, you have some awesome pictures! I like the ones of the crew docking the ship, I never thought to go over that way to try and see that. We usually are eating breakfast, so we just go to the side/ back of the ship to see the island.
