A dreaded "Parking for breakfast" question

We are hoping to get 7:30 AM Cape May dining ressies for a day EPCOT opens at regular hours.

We will be staying at AKV, so we really cannot take the AKV bus to EPCOT and walk to the resort to eat, we would if we could. (its not open yet) and AK wont be open to do a transfer.

We want to be at EPCOT for opening, hence the 1st ADR I can get. If we pay for valet can we park at BC/YC all day? We will be a party of 8.

Another possibility is taking a bus to DHS and then boat to YC/BC. Not sure if those options will be running early enough though.

Reportedly, if you pay for valet at the resort you can park there for the day.

You can valet at any hotel you like for unlimited time, including walking to a nearby park. What you cannot do is self park for free and walk to the park if you're not staying at the hotel. The rule for free self park for an ADR is three hours.

If you're paying the valet, stay as long as you wish and go wherever you please. No flame needed, these are Disney's rules and your proposed plan is within them.

Well once your in the gate they don't check cars or have not in the passed with me just go park in the self park lot they don't time your car nor seem to have people checking anything. I have parked all day at bay lake before with an ADR.

just a heads up, I read the same things as the pp's are saying but a few weeks ago we were going to eat at Crystal Palace, prepark opening and decided to Valet at the Contemporary and walk to MK and was denied entrance.. Now, Crystal Palace is not at the Contemporary but I understood it as you didn't even have to have reservations there you could just Valet to visit the resort or do whatever you wished.. thats what happened to us anyway.

Now you def need a confirm to get into the hotels but they don't really look at it you can get one and cancel it and show them the print out the wave you in. You used to be like eating here and they would wave you in now you need some proof. I mean they are adding another layer in order to keep cars out but like i said once your in the lot your in.

holy crap really? last time i did this was February. well looks like they are cracking down on this....but in this case since you have a real ADR you are good to park at the yacht club for the day.....

Why not a taxi, mini van taxi will hold 8 and get you where you want when you want, just saying. Probably wouldn't cost much more than a valet.

Yes there is. Resort parking is limited to 3 hours for dining. If you self-park for a meal and then head to the park, your car may not be there when you get back.

There is no permanent posted / published / enforced 3 hour limit for resort parking. During periods of absolute peak occupancy, security may mention a 3 hour limit when entering the resort. If so...adapt accordingly. Send one person to relocate the car while others go straight into Epcot.

If no limit is mentioned--and I personally have never been given a limit in dozens of resort visits as a non-guest--they will not arbitrarily begin towing cars with no notice.

In 30 years I have never ever ever seen anyone have their car towed.

Us too! we had Beaches N Cream ADR in April on our check out day. We drove over there to each lunch before we left and scanned our Magic Bands and they waved us in. It was really cool.

We then drove to AKV to look around - get excited for NOV/DEC trip - and gate shack guy did the same thing saw our BWV reservation and just waved us in.

our MBs will show our ADR at Cape May, so that won't be an issue. I can see the issue with Contemp / Crystal Palace though.

Can we really not differentiate between blatant parking violators vs. guests who are simply choosing the easiest route to their next destination? "No, you cannot walk 500' from the Beach Club to the theme park next door...you must first remove your vehicle from the premises and move to a more appropriate location!"

What exactly is the wording of this signage displayed at the resorts?

Have you ever questioned a security CM on the interpretation--if guests are expected to depart immediately after completing their meal?

The Disney World website has only this to say regarding resort parking: "Parking is complimentary with a valid Key to the World Card or Resort Parking Permit." No if / but / except...just free self parking at resorts if you have a Disney parking permit.

Well okay, this is making me wonder if our regular family visit to Beaches and Cream is in limbo. We always park our personal vehicle at BCV in the middle of our trip for the 4 of us to share a "kitchen sink." Are you saying that you are now only going to be able to park if you have a reservation to an actual table service location such as Cape May?
