Shelly, I thought I'd let you know that I bit the bullet and booked the Disney cruise yesterday. I booked it on a whim after playing around on the site for quite a while. Every time I tried to price out the cheapest room, it would let me get all the way to the credit card information and I'd get an error message. I didn't give up though and when it came up available, I booked it. We had to shorten the WDW portion of the trip though and I'm a little worried about that.

I say all this but then I forgot to mention that I haven't modified our original WDW vacation package yet. I guess I'm keeping it the same just in case I chicken out of the cruise. I'll have to make a final decision by March 10th though because that's the last date I have to cancel the cruise.

Shelly - Nice pics of the EWP. I have only seen it from the monorail and would like to see from the shoreline one time. Do they play music when it passes by?
And do they do it multiple times a night?

I think there was music, but I really don't remember. I think someone on here said yesterday that there was.

I only noticed it once per night, 9:00 I think.

I can confirm they do play music with the EWP. It's very cute! I remember the first time I saw it. We had booked for Shades of Green, but because of construction they put us in the now-destroyed garden wing at the Contemporary! We were putting the kids to bed and heard music from outside. we looked out and saw these lights in the water!!! We got the kids up to see that!! It was so cool.

Shelly - did I know that you canceled the cruise? I don't remember that. I hope you'll try again some other time.
I know it's hard to give up the parks for something unknown, but it's so awesome!!! I never looked at it as sacrificing the park part of my vacation, so maybe it's different for me.

Mickeystoontown - don't despair about the cruise!!! Please, it's so much fun!!! I think the 3 day is too short, but we've done it a couple tmes and loved it! We usually don't get more than 5 or 6 park days. (even without the cruise). It can be done and you can still enjoy the parks. Maybe you wouldn't have a down day if you usually do. But the cruise can be so relaxing!!! Can you tell I'm a big fan??? I know it's not for everyone, and they are very pricey, but give it a try! The time of year you're going - a lot of places are not out of school yet, so maybe with lower crowds you can do more in less time? Just my 2 cents.

family in from out of town-- 10 people staying in one house-- send kids to SIL's house to sleep

Could I find a shower please for the love of all things holy, just a place to shower???????
Where's my socks? Anyone seen my boots? drew, where are your pants???
Nothing to wear to the visitation OR the funeral
SHOP for new clothes for both. For 5 people. Belts, socks, shoes included. Painful.
CC company thinks my card was stolen and freezes it. OUCH.
Another shower??????? Please??????
Sleep on the floor... for 5 nights. Pass the Excedrin, please.

Charged twice for hotel room that we had cancelled. Painful.
I get to sleep in a bed!!!!! In a hotel!!!! Yay me!!
Wake up--- Happy Birthday to ME!! Wait.... why isn't the fam saying Happy birthday to me??? What do you mean they freaking forgot my Birthday???????????!!!! I'm turning 40 and they forget???????

10 more hours driving to get home. It's my Birthday and no one even said "Happy birthday you old hag". Pity party.
Kids miss first day back to school
Almost home-- rock flies up and smashes one of my running lights. It disintegrates. Happy Birthday indeed.
Oh and to top it off, my Drivers license expired yesterday.
So today I got the pleasure of sitting in the DMV with all the other unhappy people. For hours.

Your evening at the resort looked so nice! I remember getting the text from you as you were leaving Epcot that said to bring ponchos. You weren't kidding.

Glad you were able to relax there after the monsoon.
I think our favorite night of the trip was a night we stayed in at the resort. Relaxing definitely has it's advantages.

CL finally had some snacks out for you that you could partake in. That's good!!

Yeah, I do remember there being music during the EWP now, I just don't remember what it was like. Guess it didn't leave that lasting of an impression on me.

Yes, it was a nice evening at the resort. Especially after the monsoon let up.

I think any evening at the resort is a good one! So peaceful and relaxing. What vacation is all about.

I just love the Electric Water Parade. I know it isn't much and it is kinda cheesy. But there is something about it that just makes me happy. I can't wait to see it again !! Enjoying your TR !!

It is kind of simple and cheesy I guess! But somehow enjoyable to us Disney fans!!

The crowds are mild, but there are lots of refurbs that go on. (For example, Matterhorn is going to be closed for 6 months, starting in a few days.) Not uncommon to have 2 or 3 rides closed during this time. Weather wise, mild and cool. 60-70. Colder nights, down in to 50s. or high 40s. If it rains, it isnt that much. It is a nice time to visit, but not good if you want a beach day, etc.
