A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

Well, I'm sold on Ohana! If they bring food like chicken nuggets for the kids, we'll be fine! The salad looks like the one they serve at the Spirit of Aloha too. And the bread! Yummy!
My DH will be happy with Meat, Meat and Meat! I'll eat the other stuff too!

My DH was looking online today at another Disney fan site and it has some tentative opening dates for the new Fantasyland stuff - most were October 12, 2012!!! 10/12/12? We plan to be there the following week!!! :yay: If all goes according to our plans, we'll arrive about 10/14! I'm guessing which week the kids have their fall break, but it should be that week.

So besides Ohana, I may be trying some of the new restaurants!!!

I had heard that ahead of time, so I asked as soon as we sat down and our server rattled off about 4-5 different things he could bring for the kids. I'm guessing that happens a lot there!

The salad and the bread were very good. The kids could have gotten filled up just on the bread!

And yes, there is A LOT of meat! :faint:

I hadn't heard a date for the Fantastyland stuff. I need to read up on the new restaurants!!

Oh dang.... OHANA!?! Favorite restaurant ever. Your pictures are making me hungry!
I didn't even know they had mac and cheese and chicken nuggets there!
Mmm I'm glad you enjoyed the dessert. It's the best. :lovestruc

I can see why Ohana is a favorite for so many!! :goodvibes

Yep, they have several choices for the kids as well! :thumbsup2

That dessert was fabulous! :cloud9:

Also - I also just noticed the server behind you in the picture with you and your DH. I *think* that is the server that we had like, 2 years ago.

She talked to us forever because she found out we were from Pittsburgh and she said that she moved down to FL from Pittsburgh! She used to be a server at Eat n Park. :thumbsup2

It's been a while, so it may not be her - but I am pretty sure it is. I love when you go back and see the same people working. It just makes Disney feel more like home or something :lovestruc

Too bad we didn't get her!! We had an older man. He was pretty good.

We were hoping to get the same servers at Sci-Fi and Kona as we had the year before, but we didn't see either of them. Bummer.

After our Ohana dinner we rolled ourselves out of there and decided to go check out the Poly a little. We had been there several times eating/shopping/walking around, but had never stayed there and we were all looking so forward to arriving there on Wednesday morning for our last 4 nights at WDW!!

We walked out the back door.

And past Captain Cooks and the pool.

And headed over to take a look at the back side of the Hawaii building, where we would be staying.

We wondered which room would be ours.....

Then we went back and took a closer look at the pool area.

Up Next: The Grand Floridian

I am officially starving now. I need to eat at 'Ohana every night, minus the freak-meat-sausage ball-dumpling thingy. The noodles that freaked you out I could eat every day of my life, though. Add some wings in there and a little salad......Ummmmmm ummmmm.

I can't believe your kids loved the bread--- esp the little stinker who eats nothing. ;) Belle tasted it and started spitting immediately since she got a teeny tiny piece of coconut. You would've thought I made her taste liver the way she acted.

I wish we could have done Ohana together. It would have been wonderful!
Next time!!!:goodvibes

It definitely is a wonderful thing that they serve mac n cheese and nuggets to the kids. I think I remember us talking about it when we were making ADRs.

:guilty:

Awwwww, ADRs............

sniff.
:sad1:

Okay moving on---
I can hear the Poly music now--- looking at your pics. Sigh. Wonderful.:lovestruc

Thank you ever so much for the gratutitous GF pic thrown in there just for me- made me smile.:wizard:
I know you guys were too excited to get to the Poly-- did you feel like you wished your vacation away waiting for it to happen?? I think that would be the only downside of moving from a mod to a Deluxe mid trip.

I can't wait till you get to the GF part and show me some more pictures from my "new" home.
Remember what you texted me that night???
"You are going to LOVE it here!!!!!"
:cloud9:

The Poly looks beautiful!
Well, as you can see from my ticker I changed to the GF!:scared1: We were planning on switching back to the GF from the Poly for a while, but there was no availability. Well, I looked online today and there was availability in Sugar Loaf, so I called right away and switched.:thumbsup2 DD18 has really been wanting to go back to the GF, and since she has been doing so well with the college transition, I really wanted to switch for her. But some day, we WILL stay at the Poly! I need to...you have made it sound so wonderful.:cloud9:
We will be at the Poly for 'Ohana breakfast and Kona breakfast, so we will definitely be doing a lot of walking around there to check it out!:thumbsup2

Yeah, Ohana is delicious! But yes - a lot of dang meat!! :scared1:

We had that bread before at Olivia's and the kids loved it then!! They couldn't even taste the coconut in it. Neither could I! :upsidedow

Yes - next time Ohana together for sure! :thumbsup2

I remember that night very well! :cloud9: It was one of our best nights of the trip. We had so much fun. I remember texting you quite a few times saying things like -- It's waiting for you!! You are gonna love it here!!

I can't believe you changed resorts AGAIN!!! :faint: You are so funny!!

I'm sure you and the girls are going to have a wonderful trip. :cloud9: And yes, be sure to spent lots of time checking out the Poly!!

O'hana looks delish! We have had breakfast there twice but never dinner. I knew the kids wouldn't really like it- glad they gave the boys diff. choices.
my sister ate dinner at o'hana couple years ago and she's been telling me to go. I already made my ADRs for this coming trip so maybe next time.
The Poly pool doesn't look crowded-wow!

'Ohana looks very interesting to me and I would love to try it. The only thing is that I'm not a big meat eater, so it might be a waste of money. Is there any seafood on the menu? And do you pick anything, or do they just bring whatever they have? That sounds kind of funny. I wonder if it is similar to Texas de Brazil. I think that is a chain - we got one here a couple of years ago and I've been there once. We took my DS there for his birthday, and I've never seen such a carnivorous display in my life! Of course, my DS loved it! There were some things I liked (flank steak, filet) and some I passed on (lamb, sausage). But I do like sampling different things, so I think I would like 'Ohana. Oh yeah, one more thing - what are pot stickers? I've heard of them before, but I have no clue what they are!

Are y'all still having cold weather? It's been very nice down here.....finally! Much cooler and sunny. My favorite weather! :goodvibes

Have a great weekend!

And I can't go without one more thing......GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Not that you care about football  but this is the biggest game ever! And I am so nervous I'm going to have the cleanest house in town from burning up this energy!:upsidedow

Oh man. That food looks over the top good. And seeing those pictures from yall walking around the Polynesian makes me want to stay there even more! The volcano pool looks like a ton of fun. I never realized that the Grand Floridian was THAT close to it!

The Poly pool wasn't crowded at all that evening. Guess everyone was at the parks!

Yes it's a lot of meat. :faint: But I think they also brought out shrimp. There's no real menu, they just bring you some of everything and then if there's anything you want more of you just ask and they'll bring out more.

I'm not really sure what pot-stickers are either!! :upsidedow All I know is that there is some kind of meat in them. They had them one night at the CL lounge too.

Our weather has been decent. In the 50's and sunny. That's about the best it's gonna get around here this time of year.

How was the football game???

Last night DH and I ordered take-out from Coyote Blues. A friend had told me how they order a huge fajita meal for 4 that has chicken, beef, shrimp, ribs, sausage, and quail ( on the quail). Of course, I only ate the chicken and shrimp! DH loved it all, and it was a huge amount of food! We had it again today, and I fixed some for his lunch tomorrow. It came with rice, beans, chips, and red and green salsas. Really good! I thought of your 'Ohana meal when I saw all that meat!

I'll have to Google pot-stickers and see just what they are!

Glad to hear y'all are having some nice weather before Old Man Winter comes calling. I'd be happy for you to send him down here for a visit, but only if I can send him back after a few weeks. ;)

What? You didn't watch our game? Haha! We won, 9 to 6 in OT. :faint: Very ugly win, but a win is a win. During the game, I told my DH that I wished I was one of those people who didn't care about football, because this game was just too much for me to take! At one point, I went into the bathroom, turned on the heater, and plugged my ears so I couldn't hear the TV or my DH cheering or fussing. I know, that is really sad.

Don't let them work you too hard this week!

I've been a bad Diser and have just been reading along without posting. I don't know why I can't seem to keep up with all my Dis subscriptions. We tried Ohana for the first time this past trip and loved it. Hunter ate an entire loaf of the bread by himself. I loved the pictures of your walk around the Polynesian. It's so pretty!

It's still fairly warm here. Looks like we have a few days of temps in the 60's before it starts to rain again.

Nope, sorry I missed your game. :confused3:rotfl: Glad it was a good one!!

Hey Lisa! :)

My kids main course of that meal was the bread! Crazy kids!

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend! We had some decent weather so we got to spend a little time outside. Time to get caught up on things around here since DS's soccer season is over.

So to top off the fact that I am working this week for a girl who is in Disney World as we speak (and I helped her plan her trip!), I came home to this:

Summer-Fall2011002-6.jpg

Apparently little Jack had a bad day. :scared1: We keep him in the little pen when we are at work/school. It has (had) one of those doggy pee pad things on the floor and 2 towels over it and a few of his favorite toys. Well today he decided to make confetti of the pee pad. :faint:

What a mess!

Maybe he is trying to tell me that he doesn't need the pee pad!! :confused3:laughing: He never messes in the house anymore, I just keep it under the towels just in-case.

Guess not anymore. :lmao:

I would have expected this a few weeks ago when DH went back to work after being off for 6 weeks because of his hernia surgery, but now??? I don't know what got into him!!

Jacks mess made me laugh :rotfl2: but on the more serious side could he be teething? I remember Bella losing baby teeth but I do not recall when.
I could not use the wee wee pads, I tried but Bella from the very start tore them up

Well he likes to chew everything, but I think he pretty much has all of his adult teeth, if not all of them. I don't know if he just got bored or what. :confused3 He's been here all day by himself several times now.

He never peed on the pads either. When we first got him he would walk right by them and then pee on the floor. :upsidedow

Oh! That makes more sense to me now. I've never stayed at either (as if that wasn't obvious!) but I went walking around the Grand Floridian on my last trip. I guess I wasn't as well educated in Disney back then, (it WAS almost a year ago, after all. ) so maybe I didn't even know what the Poly looked like, but I definitely do not remember seeing anything that wasn't the GF itself so nearby!

P.S. Sorry about your dog's mess! I have to say though, I saw the pics of him from Halloween, and he is just too cute. I always say if I ever get a dog, it will be a collie. And how cute that he has a little collie friend in his pen with him. :)

:faint:

You tell Jack-Jack that Auntie Jo is ashamed of him.

But Beau Gator is giving him a Paw 5 all the way from over here saying "good job!!!" :thumbsup2

:rolleyes1

It does look very close in that picture, but it's not really! :upsidedow Still within walking distance though!

Oh yes, he's a cutie and it's a good thing -- otherwise we might have wrung his little neck by now! :scared1::laughing:

Paw 5 :lmao::rotfl2:

I don't think he is feeling too proud of himself after I chewed him out! :rotfl:

It was sort of funny. When we get home from school DS12 always runs in to get Jack and take him out to do his business while DS10 and I unload the backpacks and other school junk from the car. I wondered why DS12 hadn't taken Jack out by the time we came in the house. He looked at me and said -- I just had to see your face when you saw this!! :lmao:

Well wasn't that a fun little mess you came home to. Our little guy goes in an empty crat so we don't have to worry about that, although he hasn't been left a whole day yet. I own my own store so if I know we're going to be all day I just bring him with me, and my customers love him.
