A Disney-addicted mom: Disney cruise, Family trip, Running trips! *Update 2/18*

Goofy update: I hurt my foot running 2 weeks ago. :sad2: I've been walking instead of running since then. I'm NOT happy about it. I did manage some run 5sec/walk 55sec intervals yesterday and finished 6 miles at 14 min/mile pace. It's very frustrating. I'll see what Jeff Galloway (my ecoach) says to do next weekend for my long miles. I have one more long mileage weekend before tapering for the race...
I don't really have a lot ADRs or other plans for the weekend. We're having dinner at Via Napoli on Friday night (before the 1/2 marathon). It's an early ADR. Not sure what we're eating before the full marathon. My roommate has a sensitive stomach but I need to EAT! :thumbsup2 We're staying at the Poly so I can always get the pasta dish from Kona. That's what I ate the night before my first half marathon in 2011 so I know it's ok for me.

Princess update: I really need to make some ADRs for this trip but since we're staying off-site I figure we can eat off-site for some meals, too. I think we want to eat at La Hacienda one night...

August update: I got some hotel pricing. Both Jessica and Nathaniel have proclaimed BLT as their favorite Disney hotel. :confused3 I'm leaning towards there. 2 rooms at POR is cheaper but no kitchen and no washer/dryer. And relying solely on buses (or renting a car I suppose). The kitchen is a biggie for me since we will actually use it for breakfast every day. And the convenience of walking to MK and having the monorail for eating at the various resorts. We'd limit our Epcot meals - probably Garden Grill the last night - and focus on eating along the monorail. We like The Wave and Chef Mickey's. Maybe we can get into Be Our Guest. :thumbsup2 I like Kona a lot. Anyway I have some time to think about it. JetBlue is extending their schedule today so I may book flights and then book hotel based on cheaper flights...

Hope your foot gets better soon!!

My son's hockey coach always tells them pasta the night before a game NOT the day of LOL :)
That's funny about BLT being their fave. It is extremely convenient though. I like a lot of the restaurants on the monorail too- Cali Grill and Narcoossees are 2 of our favorites!
We are looking forward to eating at BOG in July- I can make ADRs in a couple of weeks- yay!!! :)

I guess I forget how awesome it is to have the monorail go through your hotel. :worship:

New twist to our August trip....
We may bring our nanny. Who won't fly. (Long story.) So....
We're thinking about the autotrain. Drive down to Washington, D.C. area (4 hours) and hop on the train. Have our brand new minivan with us in Disney. We'd need sleepers because there's no way Tom will go coach on the autotrain. And we'd be too exhausted to enjoy Disney.
That also changes our hotel plans. I'm getting pricing on Treehouse Villas (we'd have a car and that extra bedroom will be awesome for Karin). Also looking at 2 bedroom villa at BCV (and BLT and OKW). I guess we could try for connecting rooms somewhere, too. I like having the kitchen though. And love having a washer/dryer. Hmmm....
Thoughts?

We'll be there too! We have a 6:20 ADR.

Hope your foot heals up quick!

The Treehouses are awesome. We stayed there once and can't wait to do it again!

The Treehouses do look cool. I hope you stay there so I can hear all about it.

Your nanny coming... That's exciting!! I'm sure that will be a huge help for you both. But not flying UGH!!!! :(
Although if everything works out with DH's new FL job, we'll be driving down with the dog in July. Now that will be an experience.

I think with sleepers on Amtrak it'll be ok.

So we booked the Treehouse Villas for August! :cool1: And I think we're taking the autotrain which will be an adventure by itself.

You have the BEST adventures!
Just waiting on the children to wake up and sharing more holiday wishes.

Unfortunately our Christmas was marred by sadness. My mom collapsed in my brother's kitchen on Christmas Eve and passed away over the weekend. It's been a difficult week.
I'm still planning to run the Goofy in 2 weeks. And we're bringing my step-dad along with us in August to the Treehouse.

Amanda, I am so very sorry about the loss of your mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know this is going to be a very difficult time for all of you. I'll be thinking of you.

I remember "meeting" your mom on one of your trips. I'm sure you will cherish that visit along with the lifetime of memories through the years.

Sorry to hear about your family's loss. I hope that you are coping. It's good for your dad with you to Disney.
Let us know about the treehouses and the autotrain when you come back. Safe travel. I'll be off the boards next week since I'm going on the Disney Dream for 7 nights.

The year my father in law passed away we took my mother in law with us to Disney too :)
