January 19th BTW
We woke up early to a damp, foggy morning. I dressed DD2 in her Cinderella dress, which I must confess I liked much better on. I then attempted to give her a princess do ala Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
(notice the nice comfy
crocs
)
I was tempted to speak an untruth (okay lie) and say she was 3 to get her an appointment. I know she wouldve loved it and would have held still and behaved like a perfect little 3-year-old, she often does it at home. But in the end I couldnt do it. We brought along DD10s Belle dress in a bag for her to change into when we got there. I had also made appointments for DS8 and DS5 to get the cool dude thinking that is just a little less time we will have to keep them distracted while big sis is getting her makeover. Our appointment was for 8:05 am in the MK BBB. The park opened at 9am that day. We had to wait about 25 minutes for a bus from POR to MK. Over the next few days we found that while they did run busses for parks prior to their opening times, it was definitely a longer wait. Finally we made it to MK and were through the gate at 8amnot exactly the get here 15 minutes early to check in I had been hoping for. Let me just add here that I HATE being late and I usually am not. We all rushed towards the castle to get to the BBB and didnt get to enjoy the nearly empty park as much as I wouldve liked, but we did have to stop for a photo or two with Walt
We checked in right at 8:05. I had to stop myself from apologizing for not being early. The kids were all very excited. They took the boys in first, then DD10. She needed to change into her dress but their dressing rooms were full and they were not about to wait! I finally slipped her dress on over her clothes as she sat in the chair. Fortunately her t-shirt was pretty matchy so it didnt look bad sticking out under the dress. Unfortunately she swore to me that she only wanted to wear crocs the whole trip and DO NOT PACK ANYTHING ELSE, so of course she got a blister and she had to wear her brother's socks under her crocs the next couple of days

As all this was going on, I glanced over to DH and DD2 in the little lobby area. This is what I saw: (sorry about the photo quality)
Princess had her daddy gently placing on her feet-----you guessed it, GLASS SLIPPERS. That girl does not give up! She had found their display pair and brought them to daddy, who helped her put them on. I told him you know we have to buy those now dont you? He said "I thought they WERE hers"

Let me just add here in case I forget to later, she wore them most of the day. She would not let me take them off of her feet. I carried her everywhere (when she wasn't in the stroller) because I did not want her to get blisters. Finally she fell asleep in the stroller and I did a quick switcheroo with the crocs.
Now the boys werent really sure what to expect, but they love cool hair. DS8 had a mowhawk last summer and enjoyed having it colored blue. DS5 had been begging for some time for blue hair They started spiking DS8s hair, but declared DS5s hair was too long so they sort of flattened it on top.

Now I sensed at one point that one Fairy Godmother In Training was questioning the other about doing something more spiky, but she declared she could not. It was a disagreement handled in such a fairy godmothery way I barely noticed it.
I love the "smashed nose"
And the big "reveal":
The FGITs were very kind and gave DD2 a good sprinkling of Pixie dust. I bought her a little crown and they put it on her for me so all ended happily and she did not feel left out.
