A DIS stalker's first pre-trippie...It's D-Day (Disney Day)!!

So it’s Magic Kingdom EMH and the plan was to be at the bus stop no later than 7:30 am. I know we should have gotten there earlier but I was fine with that. We did manage to get to the bus stop at that time and proceeded to wait and wait for a bus to come along. Here are the geeks all dressed with the same Mickey tee-shirts waiting for the bus...

A bus finally comes along at about 8:05 am - so much for getting there at least by rope drop. We get on the bus and head on over to the Beach Club to pic up about 3 more people. That’s all that could fit on the bus by that time and boy were people waiting at the Beach Club ticked! But at least we were finally en route to the MK!!

Remember how I told you about how much Mom loves taking pictures of our butts. Well, she proceeded to do it again...

Obviously that picture was not so bad because Marla is blocking my butt. Oh, and here’s another one that she took of Dad (whom my kids call Papa) and Evan. I really do like this one.

We headed on over to Dumbo. Do you know that that was the first time I have ever rode Dumbo? Really it was! That’s me with Alec and behind us is Dad with Evan. And behind them are some old farts whom we don't know.

Marla and Mom were in front of Alec and me so I took their picture. I like this one...

So I guess some of my Mom’s bad habits rubbed off on me when I took this picture of Rob and Alec...

We had fun through most of the day. We had lunch at The Liberty Tree Tavern and it was absolutely delish! The Tri-Corner sandwich was so good that my mouth is watering now just thinking about it.

It started getting a bit chilly near the end but we still had to go on Splash Mountain and, of course, I had to buy the picture!!! This was Evan’s first time on Splash Mountain - and also Bob’s. When my kids look at this picture now they want to know why “Grammy’s Papa” (Bob) is so scared!

Of course, we did ride a bunch more rides and then decided to take the monorail over to Epcot to cut through, browse, and walk back to the Yacht Club. I took a pic on the monorail ride...what a goof Mom was.

On our way back we stopped at Ice Station Cool and tasted the Coca-Cola products from around the world. I even got Mom and Marla to try the Beverly telling them that I heard it was the best drink ever!

They couldn't believe people actually liked that drink. I told them that no one really did...

It was a nice stroll back through International Gateway to our room.

Next installment...Let's all have fun at the Animal Kingdom...NOT!

I'm still here too Loving your old trips also some of those back photos are cute! Oh and I agree about the weddings we went to St Lucia a few years ago and it was like a wedding factory, one in one out and then to the pool after still wearing the tiara

Welcome to my life, I mean thread! It's funny because I never really meant for it to include all those past trips (and my wedding) but somehow I got carried away and went with it. Writing the trip reports for my past Disney trips has gotten me more and more excited about going back in June - as if I can really get any more excited.

The fertility story was actually a bit funnier than that but I couldn't find a way to put it in words for an open thread like this. Just didn't want to gross some people out. Anyone who wants to know the really funny/gross thing that happened in the doc's office, feel free to ask and I'll PM you...

Thank you. I didn't mean to get everyone feeling like they "had" to post. I just noticed that no one posted at all for a couple of days after a new installment. I guess I sort of got a bit worried that I bored everyone away...

That would be my dad with my oldest son Evan. They are extremely close, almost to the point where I think Evan would move in with my parents if he could! It's a good feeling that they share that closeness though as I never had that type of closeness with any of my grandparents. I have to admit that I think my parents are extraordinary wonderful grandparents and I am lucky my kids have them.

Thanks for the "checkin". Yup, dream come true to stay at the Yacht Club. I don't know if we will ever get to stay here again but if we ever could save up enough, we definitely will. Probably take us 10 years though...

It’s another EMH at the Animal Kingdom and we made it there by almost 8 am. The weather looked a bit gloomy out but we thought it can’t be that bad. We walked in and stopped by a couple of CMs showing small creatures like tarantulas, etc. The boys looked at them briefly.

It was time to take that classic picture that everyone takes...only there’s someone’s butt in my way! Ooops! It’s Mom’s butt....hey, paybacks are a beeeeeeep.

Here’s the real shot I was aiming for...

We decided to head on over to It’s Tough to be a Bug. We all thought it was a really cute show except Evan kept his eyes closed from the very first loud sound. Poor baby. I’m sure he’ll like it the next time we go.

After ITTBB we went on over to Kilamangaro Safari and grabbed a fast pass. We had some time to kill and then it started to rain. I saw a spot that looked safe from the rain. It was the path from Africa heading toward Asia so I stood over at the beginning of that path. A CM ran over to me telling me that Asia is not yet open and I can’t go in there. I told him that I wasn’t going in there I was staying out of the rain. He told me that I couldn’t even stand there. What?? That made no sense at all to me but I wasn’t going to argue with him.

Now I need to do a bit of venting on my in-laws. They are really great and we get along but, of course, they are not my parents and they don't act like my parents. My parents will put my kids needs ahead of everyone else. My in-laws will not. Case in point...Marla goes over to buy a pretzel while we wait for the FP time to arrive. The boys ran over to her and really wanted some. She reluctantly broke off the tiniest piece for them. Now, I know I am the boys' mom and I could have bought them a pretzel at that point but I really was stunned that Marla was not even thinking about sharing with them. My mom would have run right over and bought the boys their own had she seen that. I guess I am spoiled with how my parents dote on my kids...Oh well.

Finally our FP time arrived and we headed over just as it was clearing. Oh good. It wouldn’t be a wash-out. On the safari I turned back to get a great shot of Evan with Dad...I just wonder who he is really sticking his tongue out at??? My kids are angels, really they are.

It just started misty raining when we got off the safari so we headed on some trail to check out some animals. I thought the boys would be so excited but apparently not. Wow...I just noticed how white my sneakers are!

At this point we were the typical “first timers” looking kind of dumb wondering where to go with this type of weather. Here’s pretty much what we looked like the entire time (thanks Mom for another great picture)...

Oh no. It started to pour again by the time we were entering Dinoland. We ran for cover and waited... Cleared again. I told Dad and Rob to hurry and take the boys on a ride before it rains again...Yippee...great fun, eh?

We went into the Dig Site for the kids to play as everyone was acting a bit miserable. Most of the slides were closed due to the wetness and we kind of stood around there too.

Finally, we just decided to call it a day because none of us were really having a good time and everyone was “barking” at each other. I think we made the right decision but it was sad that we never got back to the Animal Kingdom that stay.

The rain really never let up that day and we weren’t quite sure where we wanted to eat dinner. I called Spoodles and made a quickie ADR. We then jumped on the ferry and rode over to the BoardWalk. That meal was good. Probably the best part of the entire day. Here’s Dad and Mom posing for me...

Tomorrow was our day off and we were going to spend the early day at Stormalong Bay, DownTown Disney in the afternoon, and we had an Illuminations cruise booked for the evening.

Oh I know! And that is really not even a bad story. I guess I needed to vent because there are definitely huge differences in how they act toward seeing the kids and how my parents do. I know it makes Rob feel bad that his parents don't care to spend that much time with our kids and my parents will bend over backwards and take us on vacations, etc., because the kids mean the "world" to them. They are in Florida right now and have called every day to check on the kids because they miss them so much!!

Yes...back in Cape Canaveral. We all love it there. Last night they walked the beach together all the way to the point where the cruise ships come into port. That is a bit of a distance. My parents are really cute together - so much in love!
