Day 3 Nicholas' 9th Birthday
Before leaving the room to head to MK, Nicholas was given his birthday presents. Alyssa got him Star Wars the Clone Wars and my parents gave him Mario Galaxy, both Wii games. The trip was his present from me.
We made it MK for rope drop. The night before I asked the kids if they wanted to get there super early to see if we could get picked to open the park, since it was his bday. Both really wanted to, but I knew better. Chances were better that we wouldn't get chosen, then we would have to sit and wait a long time, plus I would have cranky kids by late morning. Anyway, I always enjoy seeing this.
This was the first time we got a picture with the Mayor.
My mom has decided that she wants to be a greater along Main Street. She thinks that she could stand on the sidewalk and wave to people just as good as anyone.
We head to SM and get FPs. The plan was to ride Buzz but it was closed for technical difficulties. Alyssa wanted to ride Stitch, which we haven't done since it first opened, and she didn't remember it. Nicholas had vague memories of it, Stitch burping and licking. Personal opinion, I think this is a horrible attraction. So we rode, and I knew it was going to be a horrible experience for Bethany, which it was. Now she knows not to go on it. But yep, still just as horrible. After that Nicholas wanted to ride the Indy Speedway. It was only a 10 minute wait, which is unusual for this, so we all went on. This was the new thing for the day for me and Alyssa. Nicholas had ridden it before. We continue to make our way around the park, counter clockwise, riding Tea Cups, the Carousel, IASM, and HM.
After HM we decided to stop and eat at Columbia Harbor house, since it was just opening and there were NO LINES yet. Then it was off to Frontierland.
The new thing for the kids today was the Shooting Gallery. They both got a kick out of it.
Again my parents didn't dress warm enough so the head back to get jackets. The five of us stay and ride on BTMRR, PotC, The Treehouse, and over to SM to use our FPs. I pretty much rode backwards on BTMRR, trying to get some action pictures of the kids, who were in the car behind us.
