A December to Remember - Another WDW Christmastime Vacation

The videos are jusy darling, Tammi!!!

An odd question.... what happened to Nicholas' face painting?

Hmm. Now I am on the fence about dinner at MG. I thought we would just do CS, but maybe we will try MM.

How bad can Bethany's life be if she was at WDW? I hope not having her face painted is the worst thing that happens to her going forward! ;)
I used to tease Brother all the time and tell him "You have the worst life EVER!" I have been known to sing a bit of the chorus from that Avenue Q song for DS "It sucks to be me!" Because we all know he endures endless hardship as well. At least according to him. :rolleyes1

Elin, I also noticed that Nicholas washed his face at some point but Alyssa's was still painted! :rotfl2:

He said it was itchy so he washed it off after the animation. There was a really cute Pirate design that they had.....think Jack Sparrow in POTC 2 when he had the eyeballs down his face. I wanted him to get that but he wanted the Power Ranger. So a word to the wise...the entire face painted is a lot more uncomfortable than just a small design.

Exactly....but the dramatic way that she said it, with a deep sigh and sulking shoulders, was just hysterical.

We've eaten at MM on several occasions and have always enjoyed it. I know here on the boards people complain about it a lot but I love it.

Great update Tammi! Love the videos & the kids face paintings.

Tammi, I'm loving your TR!!!! The pictures of all the kids are wonderful! You all look like you are having a wonderful time! I'm so jealous of your fabulous trip!!!

Wonderful pictures and video, as usual! You have the most beautiful family! :goodvibes I have to agree that Bethany's comment made me chuckle! :)

What were the dates of your trip, and how was the crowd level? :) Did you notice a difference since your last trip @ Christmastime? :) I'll keep reading....:)

We were there the 30th through the 6th, and last year it was the Dec. 9th through the 16th. I think crowd levels were about the same. Maybe a little less crowded the second week of December, but not by much. The big difference was the weather. It was much colder this year. Last year we never wore long sleeves or jeans.

I finally found a few minutes to read your report. I'm so jealous. I love all the phots and I must say that you are quite an artist :thumbsup2

Apparently Chris and I went to WDW last night. I have no memory of it, but Chris said we had a nice trip :rotfl: :rotfl: The man even dreams Disney :rotfl2: I guess I should be thankful that he took me with him;)

Do you think Disney will hire me?? ;)

Day 3 Nicholas' 9th Birthday

Before leaving the room to head to MK, Nicholas was given his birthday presents. Alyssa got him Star Wars the Clone Wars and my parents gave him Mario Galaxy, both Wii games. The trip was his present from me. :)

We made it MK for rope drop. The night before I asked the kids if they wanted to get there super early to see if we could get picked to open the park, since it was his bday. Both really wanted to, but I knew better. Chances were better that we wouldn't get chosen, then we would have to sit and wait a long time, plus I would have cranky kids by late morning. Anyway, I always enjoy seeing this.

This was the first time we got a picture with the Mayor.

My mom has decided that she wants to be a greater along Main Street. She thinks that she could stand on the sidewalk and wave to people just as good as anyone.

We head to SM and get FPs. The plan was to ride Buzz but it was closed for technical difficulties. Alyssa wanted to ride Stitch, which we haven't done since it first opened, and she didn't remember it. Nicholas had vague memories of it, Stitch burping and licking. Personal opinion, I think this is a horrible attraction. So we rode, and I knew it was going to be a horrible experience for Bethany, which it was. Now she knows not to go on it. But yep, still just as horrible. After that Nicholas wanted to ride the Indy Speedway. It was only a 10 minute wait, which is unusual for this, so we all went on. This was the new thing for the day for me and Alyssa. Nicholas had ridden it before. We continue to make our way around the park, counter clockwise, riding Tea Cups, the Carousel, IASM, and HM.

After HM we decided to stop and eat at Columbia Harbor house, since it was just opening and there were NO LINES yet. Then it was off to Frontierland.

The new thing for the kids today was the Shooting Gallery. They both got a kick out of it.

Again my parents didn't dress warm enough so the head back to get jackets. The five of us stay and ride on BTMRR, PotC, The Treehouse, and over to SM to use our FPs. I pretty much rode backwards on BTMRR, trying to get some action pictures of the kids, who were in the car behind us.

Continued.....

By this time my parents were back so we told them to head to Aloha Isle, that it was snack time. Anne Marie, this is for you.

IMG_0318.jpg

Alyssa prefers Itzakadoozies.

IMG_0319.jpg

We still had some time to kill before our dinner ADR so we decided to got to see the Tiki Birds. We were sitting somewhere between Aloha Isle and the Swiss Family Tree. Bob started heading in the direction of the Crystal Palace. I said the Tiki Birds are this way, motioning to the left. He disagreed and said they were this way, motioning to the right. Then he offered me a $50 bet. He should know not to try to out-Disney me.;) Funny thing, I haven't seen that $50 yet.

After that we slowly walked up Main Street. They were already starting to usher people out of the park because it was MVMCP night. We took the monorail over to the GF for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. When I check us in a slipped the hostess 2 cards and asked if they could be given to our waitress and presented to Dad and Bob. This was the card that Kristine designed for their Segway tour. We were seated in the main area and it wasn't long before all the Royalty and not-quite-royalty started appearing. Alyssa got to dance with Prince Charming.

The CM brought Nicholas out a birthday cupcake and a placemat. I'm not sure why the placemat was signed by the morning breakfast characters instead of the dinner folks.

IMG_0327.jpg

The cake that I ordered finally arrived, not looking quite like I ordered. There was supposed to be Mickey head confetti on it. As I started cutting into it, I could tell that the order had been incorrect. It was chocolate and was supposed to be white. I orinally had ordered a chocolate cake with strawberry mousse and then called Linda and changed it to white cake with passion fruit mousse. The order form that they had showed the update, but that update never made it to the bakery. The CM was very apologetic and they comped the cake for me. That was $60+ that I saved! She got a little extra tip. ;)

As we left the restaurant, this man was playing Christmas carols in the lobby. No one was paying any attention to him so Nicholas and Alyssa went up to him. She asked Alyssa what her favorite carol was and she replied Frosty the Snowman. So he started playing and they all sang along.

We took the monorail back over to MK and the kids and I rode up front. I tried to chat with the driver, asking him questions, but he didn't seem to personable. Maybe they have to concentrate too much on the driving. :confused3

When we got back to our room at OKW, this was waiting for Nicholas. Balloons and a card from Buzz Lightyear. He just couldn't understand how Buzz got in our room.

Tomorrow: Epcot

I love your pictures Tammi!! Your trip report is wonderful......I wish I was there NOW!!!

Oh I forgot to add the part about the CM bringing out the cards for Bob and Dad. They looked completely mesmerized. I had printed their names "Bob" and "Dad" on the envelopes, in Disney font, which completely confused Bob, because he is Bob, and Dad as well. So I had to give up my cover and explain that one was his, the other was my dad. They opened them together and were very excited to be going on the Segway tour the next morning. My dad seemed more excited than Bob! But the both agreed the 7:45 tour was a bit early. I was able to call and change it to the 9:30 tour. They didn't care that there would be more 'traffic' to manuever around at that time. So lots of surprised went on at dinner this night. :thumbsup2

Thanks Kristine. Do you have a trip planned?

If you still have a copy of the Segway design, would you post it here for me please? TIA.
