A Day off of Disney?

Always. It's vacation for us and we go every year. Our trip in September will be
Day 1: arrive early @ beach club and hang at the pool and boardwalk area.
Day 2: typhoon lagoon
Day 3: park
Day 4: park
Day 5: pool relax day and DDD at night
Day 6: park
Day 7: park
Day 8: blizzard beach
Day 9: leave late pool day

Always, we do Saeworld, US/IOA and Busch. We have also done the Space Centre. Shopping (so so much cheaper in the US) and little things like mini putt etc.

If your husband wants off Disney he may mean right off the reservation, no theme music, hidden mickeys etc

Another thing about going to Clearwater or Honeymoon beaches: If you leave early in the morning like we do, and it's a weekday, you are likely to hit commuter traffic heading into Tampa and stop & go conditions through Tampa.

To get around this, exit at Hillsborough, which is a divided commercial road that continues west straight across toward Clearwater. That turns into 580 taking you straight to Honeymoon. But be careful if you are going to Clearwater: The highway south (Veterans) is a toll roll with no attended booths. You should head south before you reach that down the east side of the Airport.

If you go on a weekend or reach Tampa after 9am you should be fine to take I-4 and I-275 through Tampa.

Warning: if going to Honeymoon, do not use the Veterans expressway. Use Hillsborough described above, or, Exit from I-275 at US 92 and go up to Hillsborough, then turn left heading west toward Honeymoon.

The very southern part of Veterans is free to get to Clearwater, but north of that it is a toll road and no cash is accepted - toll by plate or sunpass only.

Thank you so much. I've noted what you have said in my 'Disney notes'. At the moment, I have booked ADR for 9:15am so we'll miss regular Wednesday commuters.

We arrive on Wednesday afternoon, parks Thursday, Friday and Saturday and then have an off day scheduled on Sunday...we only have a late afternoon 1900 Park Fare ADR that day. We want to hang at the pool, maybe shop DTD but we knew, with two kids, that everyone would need a mid vacation day of relaxation. Then back to the parks on Monday and Tuesday and fly out Wednesday afternoon. It will provide the mental break we'll all need! LOL
