A Daily Lesson in Parenting and Manners: A TR by a real life Wicked Stepmom!

I was just looking at that Hurricane list that someone posted. How strange that Teddy and Sally are names for the same year! The same thing happened to me and my brother, Nicole & Matthew were the same year!

It's just a tiny bit creepy!:scared1:

P.S. I read your whole report between Sunday evening and last night. I'm hooked!

P.P.S. I can't believe custody battles can go on for over a year. How can the court claim to decide in the best interests of the children if the matter takes so long to settle that it makes the situation strained and worse? :confused3

Our on-going custody battle for DD6 has been going strong for 6 years now. DD's birthfather only comes around when it suits him. This last bout, he went 10 months before he saw her.

I have family and friends that had to deal with these same situations. Most take 5+ years. That's in OH, but I have heard that others states are about the same!

This year has two of my nieces names as well-Laura and Hanna(h).

It is weird!

Yay! :yay: Miss Cammie! So sorry to hear that you are having a not so happy start to your summer! :( Hope everything is okay! Please don't skimp too much on your TR - you know we love those funny details! ;) Looking forward to the rest of it! :)

I had to register just so I could post and say "Wow" :cool1: I am an avid reader and this is seriously some great stuff! I love that Sally's a strict obeyer of rules--Me too. I am always on the lookout for rule breakers:furious: I know things aren't always fair but dangit, THEY SHOULD BE!!!! Anyway, thanks for posting and I look forward to reading the rest of your trip report.

I always have a 'slightly' different viewpoint than many. I do not see this as Miss Cammie being absent as much as she is out doing 'life research' so that she can write even more. :thumbsup2

It is the only way to keep what sanity I have left until the next episode. :dance3:

Miss Cammie, I stumbled across your trip report yesterday and couldn't quit reading until I finished it today. You are a wonderful writer. I feel like I know you after reading your trip reports. What a great sense of humor you have.

Hope your family is doing well!

I don't know if you'll recall, but my 9 year old, Chloe, wrote to you a while ago about how much she enjoys your writing: you, very sweetly responded.
It meant a great deal to her!

THE BACKSTORY YOU DON'T KNOW....Chloe is dyslexic, and has had occular dysfuntion, and very often is reluctant to read (and write.) Although I read many of your postings to her, she was so engaged by your writing, I could often leave the postings up when I walked our dog and find her reading them when I got back....Saturdays, with time to spare, she would ask me if she could " Read Miss Cammie."

I think it's your southern charm, humor, and adopted NEastcoast (NJ) spirit that feels familiar and comfortable to her. She also likes rules, and rule enforcers, and has a deep need for justice like her mama. Whatever the reasons, I am very appreciative that you have shared these postings (kind of an oxymoron:how could one have an unshared posting?) Chloe has had a difficult time imagining what reading for pleasure would be like, (although she LOVES stories:) now shehas an idea!

...By the way, Chloe says she imagines you to look like Kate Beckansale: I hope that is as complimentary to you as she means it!

ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND YOURS!!...Keep doing what you do!! :flower3:

Miss Cammie, you take your time and write us the longest and most detailed trip report finale!!! And I know I probably spelled that wrong. BUT I am sure you are staying in the a/c, what with the humidity we're having...sooo feel free to post any little tid bit you see fit! You know, so you can get started on your next pre-trip report!!!! :rolleyes1

I have been lurking reading your trip report for awhile and thought it was about time I posted. I really hope you'll be able to finish it properly before your next trip because it has helped me cope with the Disney blues until our next trip, which will be around the same time as yours. My husband doesn't DIS but your trip report was so funny and well written I made him listen as I read out bits of it. We both love Sally and her hate of rulebreakers. My hubby and I will be at the parks at the same time as you, so if you see a crazy woman with a lime green crocodile and a Stitch bag pointing you out to her husband like your a celebrity, that would be me. Don't worry I won't ask for an autograph. :rotfl2: Here's sending you a bit of Disney magic :wizard: so things settle down in the real world.

Just found your TR and only on part 3. Laughing my a** off!! Can't wait to finish it tonight!!! Love your sarcasm...it takes one to know one ;)

I'm a nanny and childrens' manners are my pet peeve as well....I'm not sure what's wrong with kids today but enforcing good behavior and respect is NOT the norm anymore.

MommyCrawford and Miss Cammie, how delighted I am to know the both of you.

As a woman who has devoted her life to teaching children to 'love to read' it warmed the cockles of my heart.

Small kindnesses change the world.

My husband and I (old, our children are 40's ish) were just remarking the other night how fortunate we are that all the young parents with whom we are friends seem to run a tight ship with their children - the kids are fun to be around, polite and respectful. HOW did we get so lucky? I just KNOW I'd love Teddy and Sally, too.

(I'm one of those crabby old women who has no problem speaking up to unruly kids on the loose - especially if they're doing something dangerous. Occasionally, even when their parents are visible and doing nothing. WHAT are they thinking? :sad2: )

I love reading you TR......you are very talented writer (& stepmom!!!). Keep them coming:woohoo:
