A Croc, a pair of crocs, Karma and what is all this stuff around my neck? update 6/17

Why was that person on the roof with their rolodex, brush, and lotion??? What would you need those three things for???

And that my friend is the million $ question. I was fascinated by those things and how they got there. Yeah, I know I'm strange.

So I am checked in and take a few to get a little organized. I realize how hungry I am and decide to try and get a counter seat at B&C. Score:cool1: , there were a couple spots at the counter. I love these cheeseburgers, they really are the best on property.

See no plan and you can survive with no plan:rolleyes1

As you all know it is F&G time at Epcot, so I decide to take a stroll over to International Gateway and check it out. I just love the Epcot resort area just for this reason. Epcot is my favorite park  and I love having it as my backyard.

This year's flowers are great, I have been a few times before, but really love the theme this year.

here are a few shots I took walking around

I just wondered around WS for awhile, I saw a rug in Morocco that I fell in love and seriously thought about buying for my living room, but I was good, this time. I did buy a necklace that I saw in December, but passed on at the time, in Italy. Oh and a chocolate bar in Germany, love me that German chocolate:love: .

I was pretty beat and decided to call it an early evening as I had Backstage Magic tour tomorrow and knew that it was going to be a long day.

Up next DAY 3 and Backstage Magic!

Mmmm… love me some B&C burgers.:thumbsup2

DAY three and some Backstage Magic

So before I went to bed I decided to call for a ADR for Yacht CLub Galley. I noticed a lot of conventioneers and was concerned it might be crowded. I call and when finishing up the call, where they ask where you are staying the guy reminds me to make sure I leave enough travel time to get to my ADR. UMMMM, remember I said Beach Club, and the restaurant is in the Yacht Club, as in the Yacht and Beach Club. Is there a direct bus to the YC from the BC? Hmm, I better check on that.

So I get up in plenty of time and make that long walk over to the YC. Let me tell you Disser's it is a darn good think I called for an ADR. The restaurant was completely.....EMPTY. Gives solo dining a whole new meaning:laughing:

The staff were so nice and attentive, I felt like royalty. I went with the Eggs Benedict as I love  them but never get them in the real world.

O.K. one note of complaint here. For those that like tea instead of coffee, why do they only give you enough water for 1.5 cups? I mean c'mon, at least give you 2 full cups of water in that pot. Who has 1.5 cups and stops? I noticed this everywhere, even at PB when I got room service there too. I just don't get it:confused3

OK rant over...

By the time I left the place filled up with 3 other people, hope they had the staff on hand to handle the rush.

If you are staying over at the Epcot resort area, and want a nice quiet breakfast, I definately recommend YCG.

I stopped at Beach club marketplace to get some more tea as I had my refillable mug with me. I headed over to International Gateway and was let right in as I was taking the Backstage Magic tour and needed to check in prior to 8:45. I was told the tour started at Guest Service. It was about 8:20 when I got in the park. (though I thought it odd that the guard never verified I was on a tour, just took my word for it, I guess I look honest:angel: )

I have to tell you how nice it was walking by myself through WS, it was so quiet and peaceful. So I show up at GS by SSE at 8:40 (didn't say I was walking fast) and am told it is GS at the front of the park, by the monorail station. OH!

So I start heading toward the turnstiles and take a few pics of this

I turned and notice all the folks waiting to get in on the other side of the turnstiles. Sort of felt like going nah,nah nah nah, I'm in and you're not. But I didn't, just sort of thought about it.

I asked where I could exit and the CM said pick any turnstile. Um OK, but hey all have people in front of them. People I just taunted, only in my mind, but still. OK, I pick a turnstile and the first person moves a little so I can get out. Then I start the whole excuse me thing with the second person. And I said it again. Nope, not moving. Hmm, maybe she heard me taunting her in my mind. Seriously, will you just move so I can get out, if you don't let me out you can't get in (again only in mind I said this). Finally I just walked through, bumping her in the process and then I get the dirty look:sad2: Um, I said excuse me how many times.

Sorry but it just seems people are getting ruder. Is it a) I am older and more sensitive or b) rude people were allowed to reproduce and bred more rude people. I think it may be a combination of a and b. Well, maybe more of b than a.

Anywho, I finally find my tour group and am ready to go BACKSTAGE!!!!:cool1:

They must have known who you are. ;)

I'd go with answer B. Oh, and BTW, rude people suck. :lmao:

"Let's do it!" in my best Tone Loc voice. :woohoo:

Existentialism 101: but is planning to have no plan a plan? :rotfl:

Is there a direct bus to the YC from the BC?
Nope, you have to change planes in Atlanta first. :lmao:

For those that like tea instead of coffee, why do they only give you enough water for 1.5 cups?
Yes! I have often wondered this myself. We must campaign for change. Fellow tea drinkers of the world, untie. ;)

Reminds me of a song...Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta....“All the stupid people are breeding/ Cretins cloning and feeding/ And I don’t even own a TV…"

I agree with the others - rude people do suck!

Great update! Can’t wait to hear about the tour. I’ve never done a backstage tour at Epcot. I’m curious to see what you thought! :thumbsup2

It's not just Epcot, I saw parts of WDW I never knew existed!

Glad to hear they were able to handle it and had everything under control

Sometimes people just need a good NJ bump/shove KWIM??
Sorry but it just seems people are getting ruder.

Dont be sorry they are getting more rude by the minute. We ran into so much of that this trip. DH and I commented several times about that.

It was the same experience when I had lunch there in Dec. I think there were 3 tables total with guests. I don’t get it – good service, good food – what’s not to like?! :confused3

I often wonder the same thing. I’m convinced WDW’s not quite as “nice” as it was 10 years ago, in regard to CMs and guests. Is it really, or is it just me getting crankier as I age?

I hear ya, I have eaten there before, for both lunch and breakfast, but it's been a while, I don't remember it ever being that empty. Now I know why they have a sign for it down by the walkway that goes around the lake.

It's definately not you!

We love YCG for breakfast - we never have an ADR and we always walk right in. I don't get it either but I'm not going to complain - this may be one of the last places on Disney property where you can still get a table without a reservation (at least for breakfast).

Can't wait to read about your backstage tour!
