I posted this on the Disney for Adults board, but thought I might have better luck getting more responses on this board too:

My boyfriend and I are SO EXCITED to be taking our first trip to WDW in December (well, together at least - I've been about six times total). My question is - what are the best places to hit for two 20-somethings? We'll be there for my birthday, and I was planning to have dinner at California Grill that night, hopefully with some Magic Kingdom fireworks in the background. Any other suggestions? What about swanky lounges, romantic hotspots, fun holiday attractions? I haven't been since I was 15 (and even then, I traveled with my entire family), so any input would definitely be appreciated.

Thanks in advance! I know you guys are the pros at this.

Hi

First of all welcome to the Dis :cool1:

Have you thought about going out one night to Jellyrolls or atlantic dance at the boardwalk? They are the only night club type places left after they shut down the clubs at PI.

Or there is city walk at Universal that has a couple of clubs.

You could try the characters in flight balloon ride at DTD at night that would be romantic too.

Also if you like cars then there are two car shows in the Old town area on Friday and saturday.
http://www.old-town.com/ this is the link to the old town website with all the info for that area.

I'd also second Jelly Rolls. I think HDDR is always fun for all ages. Unlimited wine and beer are included with the price (as well as gratuity) so this can be a very reasonably-priced dinner if you normally get drinks. We didn't go for years because of the price, but when you factor in a show, drinks and gratuity, it really does increase the value you are getting for your $$.

Romantic ... I think just taking some of the ferries/boats after dark would be romantic. I'm thinking the boat to-from POR & DTD ... the boat MK-Poly-GF or FW-Cont-WL ... or even the large ferry from TTC-MK or the MK-WL-FW boat. Any of these after dark would be very romantic and FREE!!

I believe there might be some carriage rides available at Port Orleans and Fort Wilderness too. You'd have to check if that was something you might be interested in.
