I've flown southwest a twice now and we have never used the rapid rewards program. If DH signs up for it can we use his number for everyone's ticket to get rewards all on the one card?
Also we are booking two trips in the next year so if I book as soon as the fares come out and we recieve a ding or lower rate can we have all the credit applied to DH or does everyone accumulate their own credit (my 3 year ols really has no interest in having his own SW credit )?
And the last one. If DH books everyone's flight (we have a grandparents coming next year with us) can he use his rapid rewards number and his credit card even if he is not on the reservation? (We have a total of 15 people going).

1) Each individual person is assigned a reward number
2) credits can be assigned to anybody you choose not just the original ticket holder ( I highly suggest booking each leg separately. Book everyone one way and then book everyone the return. That way if a DING or sale comes through for only one way you will be able to take advantage of it without much hassle.)
3) Anybody can purchase a ticket in anybody else name but as I stated before the rapid rewards numbers are assigned individually

Thanks. I thought I should start taking advantage of these incentives. Our first trip was a "once in a lifetime" trip so we never bothered with them. But since we've become hooked I think it will be advantageous.

My dad and I just flew and only he had a rapid rewards number. He made me sign up because you can only get credit for yourself. When you book the flight it asks you for your rapid rewards number and it must be your number. They would not have let him get credit for his seat and for my seat. So, the way it was explained to us, if there are 4 individuals flying, there must be 4 different rapid rewards numbers and each person gets credit for one flight.

I wish they would let you use one RR for all parties on the reservation. I've never been able to take enough flites to use my RR's.

I was hoping that too. With six kids DH and myself we would have accumulated one free trip eveytime we fly . I really don't forsee us being able to use the RR but I think we would be able to use the credit. I hate waiting and worrying for a ding to get the lowest price. This way I can book everyone's airfare when it comes out than transfer it over to the lower fare and have the credit to use for another trip .
