Hi All,

I am looking for suggestions on the following situation.

My sister in-law her friend and her friend's son(21months) will be in WDW with us for part of our trip. They are arriving about 3pm on Jan 23rd and then will be checking out on the 27th and driving over to the "west cost" of Flordia to vist some friends. Here are my questions.

1. What would you reconmend as the best one way travel from MCO to the AKL. They are thinking of just taking a taxi. Would it be cheaper to take a taxi or to book some sort of town car service?

2. On Tuesday the 27th they want to leave about noon-time to drive over to the Tampa area to stay with friends until the 30th. Does anyone know how they would go about renting a car from the AKL that they would be able to drop off at or near the Tampa airport?

Any help will be greatly appriciated. We are arriving early on the 23rd so we will be in the AK when they arrive at the AKL. So us picking them up at the airport is not an option that is currently on the table.

One way service on the Mears shuttle would be the least expensive. Reservations are not required. Your SIL's party would just go to the Mears counter at the airport. They may have to wait, they will probably stop at other resorts before arriving at the AKL and as far as I know, the shuttle does not provide car seats.

My advice is for them to arrange for a private towncar service. The driver will meet them at baggage claim, assist with luggage and if arrangemetns are made in advance, there will be a car seat for the toddler (assuming your SIL's friend doesn't bring her own). Cost will be similar to a taxi (but the towncars are a flat rate plus tip, so you know exactly what the fare will be) and they will have the luxury of a ride directly to AKL in a very nice towncar. Do a search for suggestions on which service to choose - but be sure to check out the Transportation Board sponsor, FL Tours. There is a link at the top of the Forum

There are several car rental agencies to choose from. Alamo/National are on site at the Care Care Center. Reservatrions can be made online ahead of time, and they will send a van to the AKL to take your SIL's party to the CCC on the day they want the car. Alamo and National have drop offs at the Tampa airport.

There are other agencies close by - they have desks in the various Downtown Disney Hotels. Check websites for specifics.

Enjoy your stay!

Thanks very much for such a quick reply CarolMN. I will pass the infromation along.
