We are staying at BWV in a couple of weeks (check in 2/11). We're renting points (in an effort to sell DH on the whole DVC thing ;) ).

Just wondered if there are safes in the rooms?

Also, how soon can we call BWV to check the reservation (I wanted to mention about having a package delivered as it's DH's 40th birthday the day after we check in)? And doe anyone have a direct number please?

I'm really excited about staying at BWV - we visited in October and had a look around but I can't wait to actually stay there

There are small safes in the rooms but if you have larger items you may want to bring a lock and put them in you luggage and then put that at the back of a closet with other things covering it. I put money extra credit cards etc in the safe and we locked the lap top in a suitcase on one trip. The last trip we just put the computer in a drawer and covered it with clothes. Have never had any problems . With the limited amount of housekeeping it probably also reduces the risk of having things "disappear"

Sorry I can't help with the phone number but it may be on your confirmation paper. I would think you could call anythime to ask about the package and then also ask when they willl have your reservation in their system. I think I got one of the hotel numbers from yellow pages we site once. HOpefully someone on the boards has it or it is on you paperwork. Hope you have a great trip and that you DH sees the wisdom of becoming a DVC member.

There are a few rooms that do not have safes. The handicapped-accessible studios have an armoire rather than a closet. Since the safe is located in the closet, no closet means no safe! I'm not sure if this is also the case in the 1BR villas and the master bedroom in the 2BR villa.

Amen to that ;)

Sorry, one more question which I previously forgot. I know the studios have a small kitchen area - I just wondered if there was a kettle as DH is like a bear with a sore head if he doesn't get his tea in the morning. If not, any suggestions as to where to get a decent cup of tea early!

Phone number is 407-939-5100.
There is a coffee maker in your studio. The bakery has tea,as does the grocery on the Boardwalk. or if you are in EPCOT, they have Twinings products in the shops at the UK.
Once upon a time there was a cart on the boardwalk in the morning that had specialty coffee and tea, but I am not certain that it is still there..

I would plan on bringing my own tea- there are ceramic mugs so you could heat bottled water ( Disney water is not that great for beverages like coffee and tea) in the microwave and pour it over the teabag in one of the other mugs. There is a limited amount of sugar and artificial creamer so you may want to bring some from home if you use them or get a small container of milk in the resort store or counter service restaurant. We sometimes picked up a packet or so of sugar from the counter service places if we didn't bring enough from home. You can also usually get fresh lemons in the resort if you use them.

Definitely bring your own tea bags! The only decent tea bags you will find will be in the English shops in Epcot and it will be expensive. (Found this out the hard way when DH forgot to bring some PG Tips from home.) Options for heating the water are not great -- you could use the coffee maker to "brew" hot water or heat up a mug's worth of water in the microwave. You only get a few sugar packets in the room so bring some with you if you need them. You can purchase milk at the "Screen Door" shop along the boardwalk.

There will be mugs and glasses but otherwise a few paper plates and bowls and some plastic silverware. No cooking vessels at all. Some have been able to get some things from housekeeping but this seems hit or miss. If there's something you need and you're in a studio, bring or buy it there.
