OK - I have just gone from being a very prepared soon-to-be first time Disney Cruiser to a scrambling-to-find-a-room-discount-for-Presidents' Weekend unprepared person!! My kids have decided that they want to be back at WDW instead of on the cruise ("we want to go on the rides!), and now I have no room arrangements whatsoever. So, don't laugh, but...anyone have any room-only codes for Wilderness Lodge or AKL for Presidents' Weekend (I'm being quoted 300+ for AKL on Disney's website, which I could never bring myself to pay!)

Thanks!

Go on the disney cruise. Drag your kids on it. The will have the time of their lives. They probably dont know what to expect but once they get there they will love it. Its much better than waiting in lines at disney.

Maybe you could extend your vacation by one day and spend one day in disney so you could ride the rides.

But your kids will love the cruise, if they go on it.

klh999 is right - drag them onto that ship! They will thank you over and over. You will hear things things like "this is the best time I've had in my entire life"! Go for it on the cruise!

Ugh - now I really feel bad about cancelling the cruise ! And only one of you has even mentioned my request for resort codes!!

Actually, although I agree my kids would love the cruise and really don't know what to expect since they've not yet experienced it, another factor motivating my cancellation is that I've been having difficulty finding a SANE airfare from NY to ORLANDO given that it's Presidents' Weekend, and don't want to be locked into having paid $2200 for the cruise (full deposit refund deadline is Sunday 12/14) and thus forced to pay an absurd airfare. I guess I didn't realize that I'd have such difficulty finding a decent airfare 2 months in advance of the cruise (actually, I always seem to find a good one as the date approaches, and I'm sure I probably will find one this time as well, but I'm just not willing to risk it).

Again, thanks.

Sorry, can't help you with the code either, but if it makes you feel any better, my kids went on the cruise and said that they were glad they went so they now know what it is like, but they would have rather been at WDW.

I'm in NY, depending where you are in NJ, you might want to try flights out of Stewart. Southeast air flies directly into Orlando, just not the international airport, they fly into Sanford which from my guestimate is about 45 minutes to WDW. Southeast's web site is www.flyseal.com. You can check flight availability & costs right there.

We're flying to WDW on 2/27 but heading out of LGA.

Good luck!!

Codes are out only through 2/11 and they probably won't be extended into President's Weekend, they never have. When codes are released again, they'll probably be valid for late Feb - week before Easter break. So, if you really want to go to WDW during President's Weekend and receive a code rate, you'll have to check-in on 2/11, which is a Wednesday. If you plan on checking in after that time, the best you'll get will be a AAA discount. Trying to fly to Orlando during President's week out of a NYC area airport is a nightmare and is usually VERY expensive. Most NYC area schools are closed that week for "Winter Recess" and a lot of NY'ers head down to WDW that week. I know all my friends from LI with kids do. Which means that airlines are usually fairly booked pretty far in advance, like trying to find a good fare to Orlando during NJ week from either EWR or PHL, IMPOSSIBLE!!! I'm sorry you cancelled your cruise, and I hope you'll find good airfare during that week. We were there last President's Weekend, and we paid through the nose for airfare. I kept waiting hoping fares would go down and they never did, so I took one on the chin and off we went.

Go to www.mousesavers.com to find the codes to book for arrivals on or before 2/11/04.

For good deals on flights from NY to Orlando, you might look into Delta's new short-haul airline, called Song (www.flysong.com) which has very inexpensive flights from all three NYC area airports to Orlando (I think the cheapest are from Laguardia). JetBlue (www.jetblue.com) also has affordable flights from NYC (JFK) to Orlando.

Ditto here -- our 7-year-old said the same thing, as did DH and myself. It was interesting to do but we all agreed we'd rather spent those days in WDW.

Jet Blue is pretty expensive for that week. We are paying 224/person and are stuck taking a 7pm fight down there and a 7:30 am flight home. We were lucky to get seats on those. Maybe they'll open more flights as we get closer. good luck....this must be very aggravating.

try the rent/trade board and rent your points for wlv, you even get a coffee maker/microwave/mini refrig. plates/silverware/cups
but hurry because pres. week will book fast, a studio, sun. thru thurs. 13 points a night that is about $130 a night. going price is about $10 a point. weekend are higher 29 points a night, but AAA is offering you that same rate. good luck.

if you find someone to rent they cant call on weekends because the members service is closed on the weekend to see if availablity.
the boardwalk, keywest less points beach club the same points as wilderness. the kids would love the pool at the beach club
but if i had a choice , since never been on a cruise i would opt for the cruise:sunny:

and if you do the cruise, maybe driving to florida is an option, save on airfarepirate:

found this on the trade/rent board

BWV Studio for Rent - 2/15-2/20/04 going for $660, its a start and this is a confirmed ressies
